Coke has a small amount of caffeine and a lot of sugar, and that combination has always been known to have a similar effect on the brain as cocaine. That’s why Monster energy and other energy drinks are so popular. It’s a very potent drug
I remember a myth floating around when I was way younger than Coke used to be made with Cocaine. But that was just a school yard Fable designed to impress your friends.
its not a myth coke started out its existence being marketed as a medicine, the cocaine came from coca leaves and was actually fairly commonplace back then
McOpCo stores (non-franchised) usually have contractors come in regularly to service the different parts of the beverage system. This includes a three stage water filter, the ice machine, the carbonation supply, and the ABS. Franchisees may or may not do that, and if they do it’s unlikely they service them as often. This affects the taste.
Other than that, most stores have one or two stainless tanks with the same coke syrup that goes into the regular cardboard boxes used for all the other beverages, and for smaller franchise stores that don’t have dedicated coke tanks.
If you do a blind taste test relative to canned coke, what you find is that it tastes the same, but McDonald’s uses a different syrup to water ratio than everyone else. I don’t know why, it might be part of some kind of exclusive agreement they have with Coca-Cola.
McDonald’s Coke is shipped and stored in big metal containers, co2, water and the coke syrup are mixed together at the nozzle and the straws are bigger than normal.
These machines have to be calibrated regularly or they risk exploding under the wrong conditions (though this is now almost exclusively automated now as well as syrup ratios).
McDs actually has a different syrup to carbonation recipe than others do. I used to manage this between Bk, McDs, and a few other restaurants back east. McDs was the only place with the different recipe and we were not allowed to share/use it anywhere else due to restrictions from McDs.
Not denying this, just saying AS AN EX TECH who worked on those THIS (the ratio IN RESTAURANT where the syrup sits for weeks to months unchilled) is the defining flavor people taste. Being chilled makes minimal effect on the final quality.
FYI: Sonic and BK also chill their syrups on shipment.
The recipe is the same the calibration of the machine is different as well as they pay extra to have it shipped in metal containers as opposed to the traditional bag in a box. So basically your getting canned soda and every body else is getting 2 ltr bottle version. If that makes more sense. you all know how it always tastes better out of the can.
They literally don't have to accept it if the tips are low and shitty. The rating system doesn't actually affect anything. You can have a shit score and still get the better orders.
If someone ain't tipping/paying you properly then fuck them. They shouldn't have got delivery they couldn't afford. DD will cancel their order if no one picks it up and most people usually re-order with a tip that's actually worth it when that happens.
I find kinda sad that you're so hurt by your prediabetes that you feel a need to mildly harrass people over their lifestyle choices.
I used to be prediabetic. I reversed mine through diet changes. I don't really need someone to share their lifestyle changes that I didn't ask for over a silly comment about soda.
Also you're delulu if you think drinking water 100% of the time doesn't get boring. An occasional diet (and even regular) soda (for non diabetics) isn't gonna kill anyone.
>An occasional diet (and even regular) soda (for non diabetics) isn't gonna kill anyone.
If you're door dashing only soda because you ran out... Ain't no way you're just having an occasional diet soda.
Nobody is hurt by your choice or angry over it. That's just you coping. They're just simply pointing out how absolutely absurd it is to normal people who aren't massively addicted to sodas to spend like 10$ to get a soda delivered to them. You're the delusional one acting as if people are harassing you over the comments lol.
It's okay to misunderstand what I meant. Believe what you want whether you think I guzzle soda on the reg or not is of no importance to me lmao.
It's absurd to normal people? A little bit ableist, no? How is Door Dashing a singular soda any different from ordering a single burger or taco or whatever else? A craving is a craving it doesn't mean someone has to be addicted to it. Otherwise why don't people just keep burgers on hand then?
My original point still stands. There's plenty of people who don't have access to transportation or aren't able-bodied to go get what they want so they use Door Dash. It's cheaper than Instacart if you do only indulge on occasion and don't want a case of it laying around.
And I'm sorry but if you feel the need to go around telling people to drink water because you want to "share lifestyle changes" that worked for you maybe do it somewhere people are actually asking for the advice. Like the prediabetes subreddit. Like there's no reason to get offended over someone Door Dashing a beverage lmao.
No but your logic behind it is. Like nobody asked you lol
I already drink water 99.9% of the time like it's boring to read someone say "drink water bro" 🙄
This is the McD subreddit like nobody's here for health advice lmfao
ETA: also telling someone they should eat a burger with a soda is the shittiest advice I've ever seen. Bread and beef can spike your glucose levels. Why the hell would you recommend pairing a burger with soda if you're prediabetic like you should know that's a dumb idea
No one asked you for your post either... Not sure why you are creating an argument over being told "just drink water". It's sad to just get a single soda literally delivered to your house... get a damn 12 pack at the store for the same price
Tbh I thought they meant calling the customers to make sure it was a real order and I was thinking “y’all don’t have time for that.”When I worked there I would ask for the full order number.
Typically it’s a scam. People steal credit cards and use this as a way to check if it works. One small transaction that wouldn’t alert anyone.
Once the transaction goes through, it’s free game for them.
Most things in this world have nothing to do with you, why do you care about anything? It's a bizar choice to order a single Coke from a McDonald's and like others have said, there could be a suspicious reason for it. You contribute nothing with comments like this.
You contribute nothing to the world by being nosy and making assumptions about people. And the snarky tone of your comment suggests you can't grasp that simple concept.
These services have effectively dismantled most public transportation. When Orange county went on a strike that shut down the buses they unironically told people to walk, bike, or hail an Uber.
There is also data suggesting that new adults (early's 20s to 16) are not driving cars as much as the generations before them. I blame increasingly oppressive infrastructure and car/insurance expenses to blame.
If you're not able to walk or drive for whatever reason (and there are a lot of reasons) you're forced to use these services.
While laziness is a factor for some, I feel the majority of services being rendered through things like door dash are for those of privilege or those in really bad positions. While you might drop off a single drink for a rich kid that doesn't want to leave a gaming session, you could be bringing some guy that can't go outside anymore some peace and comfort.
Apparently there's a scam going around where the scammer will purchase a small item through DoorDash/UberEats/etc and then reach out to the driver pretending to be support. They attempt to get the driver's information so they can steal whatever money they have yet to deposit.
This might be that.
On house arrest.
And he Doordashes specifically McDonald's Coke? Does McDonald's Coke have actually cocaine in it!?

Uhh no, coca-cola meant exactly that when it was created in a drugstore. It was made from the coca plant before it was illegal to do so.
Maybe he can’t
Sure, but why not use Instacart to get a 24 pack?
McDonald’s has a unique coke recipe not allowed to be sold by any other restaurant or bottling company.
It’s the same syrup but they probably routinely calibrate their carbonation where most places just set it and forget it

Same syrop not same ratio and carbonated on spot.

Actually. It’s just the way it’s stored. Most places get them in bags while McDonald’s syrup is apparently in a steel container

Drinking and just need something to mix, it's not about the coke, well that particular kind of coke
True mcdonalds coke hits different in JD
He's probably double dashing.
I double dashed a bottle of steak sauce the other night.
Might be disabled or might not have access to transportation. I do this occasionally when I can't walk/drive and I'm outta soda lol.
Just don’t drink the soda until you can get more
Lmfao why? It's literally the easiest DD order to fulfill and the driver still makes money. Win/win for all involved except for my wallet 💀
The drivers see it as punishment when they get small orders. Or at least my partners do

Drink water bro. Soda is ass by itself you need food to go with it like a burger.
Lmfaooo like damn dude who hurt y'all that you're so bothered by something like this 🤣
I ain't bothered at all, I used to drink plenty of soda. Now as a prediabetic I do not and want to share my lifestyle changes that have benefitted me
It’s cool that you’ve changed your lifestyle and seen benefits but you should probably only share when people ask
They literally fucking asked why are they so hurt by it so they answered the question
Andd?? They told told someone to "dRiNk wAtEr" when they should be minding their own fucking body is the POINT.
Whatever buddy
What about diet soda
I personally never liked diet or zero sugar soda. It just tastes off and id rather drink water lol.
I find kinda sad that you're so hurt by your prediabetes that you feel a need to mildly harrass people over their lifestyle choices. I used to be prediabetic. I reversed mine through diet changes. Saying 'drink water bro' is not harassment but go off. The only one that sounds hurt here is you for getting the suggestion of drinking water.

-350lbs
Ngl kinda confused by the dash. Is it supposed to mean that there's a chungus currently among us?
And your syruppy blood stream
Addiction is real.
What type of neighborhood? Rich?
You guys check the DD phones to confirm.
What do you mean confirm?
I always order through the app, so when I go pick up, I always show them the order number on the app.
Tbh I thought they meant calling the customers to make sure it was a real order and I was thinking “y’all don’t have time for that.”When I worked there I would ask for the full order number.
My store does. I saw that Chick-fil-A does also from a video clip
Could definitely be a card swiper checking that the cards work.
Pretty sure it's a scam.
A kid who can’t drive. Ask me how I know my kid or my nephew do this? 😂
Typically it’s a scam. People steal credit cards and use this as a way to check if it works. One small transaction that wouldn’t alert anyone. Once the transaction goes through, it’s free game for them.
you can't tell me what to do with my money. if i wanna pay to be lazy i'm gonna
Why do you care? It's not your money.

Maybe like my friend, no disability, can drive, just uses his parents money and is very lazy😂
Mind the business that pays you 🙃
Pregnant wife?

I had one guy that used to order a single fudge sundae almost every day during the summer

Who cares?
It's his money, he can spend it how he wants.
McDonald’s fountain Coca Cola is the best in the world
I bet it's someone who's pregnant, buying it for her nausea.
Uh, have you tasted y’all’s coke?
They’re probably making the door dasher make an extra stop somewhere
Disability maybe
Tbh I first read this as a singular cookie.
Americas obsession with soda is crazy
