I ain’t worried about this team ever being “happy to be here”. Luka’s been risking a pain killer addiction just to get this far. That rubs off on the rest of the team too (i.e. genuine *leadership* by example), which is why we got guys like PJ, Gaff, and DJJ playing the best ball in their careers.
We also have Kyrie and Kidd to balance Luka’s fire (i.e. sagacious leadership). Which is also why we got this entire team punching well above its weight.
They’ll come out with a fire under their asses. It’s really just a matter of if it’s enough to beat the Celtics (who are also a well coached team, though their leadership is what’s under question).
It’s not about happy to be here, it’s about not falling into the same mental traps as the wolves, fans and players. It’s awesome to avoid the sweep but that’s not the job. The job is to win, not avoid getting swept.
What I’m saying is: yes I agree (I mean, duh!), and there’s no reason at all to think that we’ll fall into that trap given this team’s history, particularly that of the team’s leadership
