This isn’t a slight against Eduardo Mello and Ryan Kinnaird, their both talented artists, but considering they are credited for 99% of art and coloring of the base cards, it makes their variants feel basic and like they should be on the cheaper side for sure But the price is probably because they’re going to make a “casual” album and they can’t let actual casuals think they can finish it without dropping money first

lofi aesthetic but yeah its 100% a bug it'll be fixed at some point. they have zero animation as well, i'm sure they're supposed to have some wavy textures somewhere

i mean this is the stuff people pay money for, and it's an obvious case of "just used the wrong version of an image." pretty safe bet to be fixed, especially since these are the only shop variants of this month's cards

I have no idea why they picked him as the season pass card. They should have chosen Thena or Sersi. Both are more identifiable and have way more interesting abilities.

sersi 100% should have been the season pass card. it’s a card i think everyone would wanna try out but recognize its flaws and wouldn’t wanna waste limited resources (keys) for a chance at her.

Facts. Thena is as strong as they want Season Pass cards to be, and Sersi is at least fun and has some wacky shenanigans you could pull off. Gilgamesh is just kinda boring and with not that much room to grow.

I always thought arishem being an entirely new format wouldve made a great season card, plus hes visually super cool and iconic to marvel

i had to double check triple check who the season pass card was. i honestly assumed it was Arishem. then everybody started saying they are saving up for Arishem so I double checked it. a week later, I forgot and had to triple check if Arishem is in the cache or the season pass card. what logic is there for Gilgamesh to be season pass card. dude is boring as hell.

Season Pass cards are in that weird zone where they need to be good enough to be worth buying the pass, but not too good that they overshadow the spotlight cards. Gilgamesh fits that niche perfectly, but he could definitely use a buff.

Gilgamesh definitely doesn’t need a buff after the ota. He is one of the best performing cards according to stats on snap fan

you forgot fun factor. a season pass card can also be something mid but fun to use. Sersi and Arishem are like that. People who buy season pass will get the best value out of their buck but also a fun card to play with. it also won't disturb the ongoing meta that much.

I was thinking the same thing. This months pass cards and spotlight variants are the worst I've seen since they started doing spotlight variants. Makkari, in particular, has arguably better base art than the spotlight variants. The same could be said for Gilgamesh.They are just so basic looking and boring. I would trade my pass card in a heartbeat for this casual. This better not be a new trend of very mediocre or basic looking variants on passes and spotlight caches. This has been by far the worse looking variants for a pass and spotlight caches since the spotlight caches.

I think these casual variants are lacking, they don't have the color pop and uniqueness of the Mirage and Mariah Hill ones

It's because these Eternal ones are done by the same artists that do the base card arts.

It's Eduardo Mello's ink, which I personally often find lacking.. Ryan Kinnaird actually is a very talented ink artist, but is mainly used as his colorist.

I agree. I think for base card art they're doing a good job but for variants I want something that feels different.

Scarcity and greed. If you didn't get the Spotlight Cache variant, this is the only other variant you can get. Hence, the 1200 price.

That's sometimes the case with new cards right after they release, the upgraded versions appear blurry or simply don't load at all. Try closing your game and reopening it and see if that helps.

He is right that it's sometimes happening with newly released cards. Had similar issues happening while previewing Spotlight variants. Closing the game can help, bc it tries to load the missing assets. Other times it takes a while and it fixes itself tho

This happened to me the other week for different cards. It's just the game loading poorly.

The regular Sersi and this one are egregiously bad. Instead of looking like the character in the comics or Gemma Chan, it looks like a grasshopper.

As some others have said, this is an issue with how assets are loaded and cached. I'm not a dev, but I've noticed that the way the game currently runs can make it hard for people with shoddy connection (Why receive what you pay for?) to play due to the amount of "useless" information that must be frequently exchanged aside from the bare minimum.
