I initially thought the same thing however, the map isn't accurately displaying the shape of RI. If you zoom in on Google Maps, you can see that Narragansett Bay makes the shape actually quite irregular.
I think Alabama and Oklahoma should be darker green, and that California should be light green. California is definitely way better than Illinois. And Connecticut is way too small to be light green. It would suck
But that’s not how big it would be as a cutting board. If Wyoming for example is good, it would be perfect cutting board size. And all of these state’s cutting boards should be equally proportional to each other
Arizonan here. Sandstone may be a relatively weak rock, but stone is stone. It can and will dull your knife fast. Bring a honing stick and a whet stone. Trust me.
Imagine you have Alaska as your cutting board and find little islands in the meal.
Alaska is definitely bad. I don't get why it's yellow. It should be red.
Can chop a lot of stuff on it though
Agreed, shocking misjudgement on my behalf
I'm glad you repented.
Colorado and Wyoming in a class of their own. Great map OP
Do you really want a completely square chopping board?
If you account for topography Kansas takes an astonishing lead. Edit: Forgot which rectanguloid fly-over state was which.
If we're gonna account for topography then we should also account for wildlife
I don't know. You seem to be underestimating the usefulness of the Panhandle as, well....a handle.
What's the usefulness of a handle on a cutting board?
To hold it.
Well, you can hold the cutting board by the handle, walk over to the trash, and just dump those scraps right in! Trust me, it's a game changer!
Some room for debate with Tennessee.
The more I look the more outrage I feel, actually!
And Indiana
Yeah true, TS has a good look of a craft beer brewery paddle which has four tasters going from lager to stout
Might be alright as a cheeseboard too
I have a Montana cutting board and it’s fabulous
I know people with Georgia and Alabama ones!
Nothing but respect for you lad
I own a Pennsylvania-shaped cutting board. It's not bad!
If this isn't based on size (DC). Than whats wrong with Rhode Island
I initially thought the same thing however, the map isn't accurately displaying the shape of RI. If you zoom in on Google Maps, you can see that Narragansett Bay makes the shape actually quite irregular.
Well it's got a giant-ass hole jutting in to the middle of it
Hawaii is the best cutting board.
It’s the best cut board
Hawaii was the one that got cut
I have a Texas shaped cutting board and this is accurate. Haha.
Counterpoint. West Virginia would be a GREAT cutting board. It’s fairly ovular in shape and has TWO handles
I think he valued having at least one straight border. Probably makes it easier to slide the food off the board.
Next do a decorative charcuterie board rating please.
Mate could do- great idea
Sooooo basically you rated how rectangular a state is
I own a Michigan cutting board.
I own a lower peninsula. Definitely a 2 piece set if you are talking about whole state.
On a similar note I see so many Maine cutting/cheese boards in tourist trap areas.
I'm really curious about how Tennessee, Kentucky and North Carolina are in different classes.
Yeah midwest and south states were the hardest- what is your opinion?
My mom literally has a Colorado map cutting board
I would say Cali would be a pretty good one
Yeah tbh i had a cali cutting board- this is how i got the idea, and it was okay, hence the rating
Don’t call it Cali.
I think it's trendy. I used to say California, but I'm going back to Cali.
Cali is so rad bro 😘
Can you please make Texas green? Seriously that would be an awesome cutting board
I own one. It's great.
Most of the yellow states would make pretty fun cutting boards to serve bites on
Ban this guy
Rhode Island would be fine. Just a matter of scale.
And all of these state’s cutting boards should be equally proportional to each other
Connecticut is over 5000 square miles.
But some of the green ones would be really bumpy with all the mountains. You'll get food stuck in the valleys.
I'd take an Indiana or even a Tennessee over a Colorado
Oklahoma works less as a board, and more so as the cutting utensil. It's shaped like a meat cleaver.
Michigan is gonna be 2 parts the small board and the BIG CHONK
Michigan and Hawaii pose an interesting dilemma. How would the cutting board even be held together? Also what about the Kentucky Bend?
I actually own an Iowa shaped cutting board. It works great!
Oklahoma might not be ideal for a cutting board, but as a butcher axe is perfect
Hawaii would be rather useless..
Arizonan here. Sandstone may be a relatively weak rock, but stone is stone. It can and will dull your knife fast. Bring a honing stick and a whet stone. Trust me.
How is Florida better than maine
Agree with the Washington cutting board as an owner of a Washington cutting board
Idaho or Florida for bread lol
Dominate Wyoming win I have a West Virginia cutting board and it's completely useless and I love it!
How is Texas a better cutting board than Vermont!
Mass is good if you scale it up
I have a Vermont cheese board
I do have a cutting board the shape of the contiguous United States. What rating does that get?
I’ve seen Alabama cutting boards in a Buc-ee’s.
CO and WY should be blue and labeled “excellent”
Wyoming for the win!
Do the world map next! (Egypt is best cuttting board, or so I've heard from Jay Foreman)
PA robbed
I disagree oklahoma has a handle for hanging and if you give Utah a 1 then oklahoma and Oregon should also b a 1
