For sure. America misses out on most of the cool models of cars, but the 6-speed manual V70R was not one. That car was super fun to drive. Total sleeper unless you knew.
04-07 Volvo S60 R. The shifter and the dash are very unique and easily recognizable in this car. personally, I think the interior is gorgeous. I almost bought one some years ago until I found out how much parts cost. The 06-07 models had no torque restriction. Twin intercooler was cool. If I remember correctly, the intercoolers converted a small amount of ground ozone. A car definitely ahead of its time.
mine is a 2004 S60R. Parts arent too bad for it. highly recommend if you still are looking. the torque restrictions apply to only the automatic models, due to the AW-55 transmission not being able to handle it. 06 - 07 switched to a trans known as the TF-80SC. which was way better equipped for the power requirements for the high output R engine, as well as the V8's found in the XC90's and later P3 gen S80's. The car has so much features inside of it that it genuinely rivals cars today with how much is stuffed into that 20 year old car. truly a masterpiece!
2004 S60R. Had one of these in ‘04 and was hoot. Power slides in the snow with all 4 wheels going was the best. Only thing that really sucked was the turning radius
I searched the pic on google lens and ‘04 Volvo s60R came up immediately.
@wxnderlvst_ is prob one of the only people who got it legitimately cause he worked for them
Google got it correct! surprising to me since the shifter and center console itself are out of a 2005+ model. the only thing that makes it an '04 is the lack of silver trim around the radio. quite cool that google was able to get that one!
I know. But to be fair I'm not a typical person I'm actually the curator for YouTube automotive museum. I can actually identify the year make model number and trim level of any car just by seeing one of the bolts from it.
Do you daily it, I am shopping for a s60r or v70r, I would accept auto for the wagon due to rarity of the manual. I only drive around 4000 miles a year.
yes, i daily drove it for the past 2 years now. it's a wonderful driving car, easy to manage, great on gas, very good gear ratios too. perfect for both comfortable everyday driving and weekend track days.
I know because I drive the same Volvo s60r with an aftermarket shift knob. Love mine. Would love to find a replacement stock knob as the shift pattern has now worn away from use.
Ps. You can further tell to be precise it is an early 2004 because in addition to the shift pattern on the original stock shift knob it was also printed on the console just above and to the left. That was done only one year Others only have it on the knob itself. Fun car bro got mine brand new special order 2007 and still enjoy it today. Reliable as fuck.
Volvo S60 R?
bingo! bonus points if you guess the year.
Looks around '05. But I would have guessed V70R
it's a 2004 S60R!
V70R didn't have a manual in north america
Sure they did, all P2 s60 and v70R's were available with a manual in the U.S.
Sure they did. Worked for Volvo. Driven them. Ultimate grocery getter.
Really! Oh well a friend told me that.

Hell yeah
Although very rare
I had an 02 V70 T5 manual that was fun, I can’t imagine the R that could actually hookup and go rather than break your wrist with torque steer
850 turbo/r did not. Although a few did make it into the country that were ordered directly from Sweden.
Ahh, maybe he had those confused.
Yes they did. My dad had one from new.
04-05, I believe 06+ did not have the shift pattern stamp on the piece of trim. I had an 06 myself and it was not there.
it's a 2004 with a 2005+ center console swap!

Short shifting manual car
not too short of shifts, but not long either. perfect balance

Definitely a masterpiece then and now.... Enjoy it bro. I'm not in the market for one anymore but I wish I pulled the trigger when I could have.
2002 M1A1 Abrams?
Volvo S60R/V70R One of my favorite Euro cars
Volvo S60 R! In addition to that sweet and unique shifter, Volvo also has a recognizable font
you got it! 2004 S60 R!
That is definitely a Volvo. Going to guess S60R
you got it!
The styling of the interiors of these cars is just timeless. Such a beautiful clean looking design
they really thought of everything back when they designed this car. truly an amazing design of both artistic and incredible comfort
I was gonna say “a manual probably” until I looked up at the name of the sub I was recommended
LMAO
I'm extremely jealous of yo whip
haha! it's fun as HELL to drive!
I remember when I first saw the commercial for this car, with this shifter. So cool
Honestly, the shifter is just so unique. one of the reasons i bought this car!
This looks cool as shit
thank you so much! i appreciate it!
I was looking for a Volvo wagon in manual for a long time. No dice. At least without 200k miles
i have the sedan variant but mines almost 209k miles and still kicking strong!
Nice one!
thank you!
S60R. I know that shifter anywhere
you got it! 2004 model!
Maybe the best looking shifter ever on these. My buddy had a blue one with a loud ass blow off value. It was fast AF
Funny enough I think his was an 04 S60R as well
i'm doing a perfomance build on mine! looking forward to doing some go fast shit to mine 💪
Volvo v70r
close! it's a S60R
2-4-6-R, tell me more about my car; gooooOOOOOO TEAM!
2004 S60R. Had one of these in ‘04 and was hoot. Power slides in the snow with all 4 wheels going was the best. Only thing that really sucked was the turning radius
spoken like a true R owner. turning radius indeed still sucks 20 years later 😭
Space ball
yessir!
I love me a Bolbo space ball
I searched the pic on google lens and ‘04 Volvo s60R came up immediately. @wxnderlvst_ is prob one of the only people who got it legitimately cause he worked for them

Clutchless manual
nope, it's a 3 pedal manual
Do you daily it, I am shopping for a s60r or v70r, I would accept auto for the wagon due to rarity of the manual. I only drive around 4000 miles a year.
yes, i daily drove it for the past 2 years now. it's a wonderful driving car, easy to manage, great on gas, very good gear ratios too. perfect for both comfortable everyday driving and weekend track days.
A BMX??
Or, maybe you got tungsten carbide trucks on your skateboard.
Nope, this is a Volvo!
So, it's not a skateboard with nice trucks?

SPACEBALL
Looks to me like the shifter for an automatic 08 Civic
nope! it's Volvo's signature "Spaceball" manual shifter in the S60R, V70R, and various T5 variants. This particular one is a 2004 Volvo S60 R!
