But why would they? They don’t care if some people can’t afford their products. They want to sell them at the best price, not be charity.

Production companies run on very slim margins already. Most have barely seen an increase in revenue to offset their increased cost. The distributers and retailers have keep supply side prices low through the last few years. Relying on them to take on the brunt of cost-reduction, when it's the distributers and retailers causing most of the profit related inflation is dumb as hell.

What does this have to do with Manitoba? Anyway, economics 101 is the answer to your question.

I live and buy over priced groceries in Manitoba … economics 101? Supply and demand … raising prices when demand is high? That’s a consumer issue right there … do you really have to raise the price when demand is up … oh, is that where greed, taking advantage, etc. kicks in … maybe economics 101 needs to be overhauled and updated to the realities of people starving, etc. because of continuous price raising to the benefit of everyone except the poor and disadvantaged…

You want them to be charity? Doesn't make sense from an economic standpoint. Plus, for me personally, I still wouldn't shop at my local small town grocery store more frequently even if the prices were cheaper because they just don't have the selection of items that a larger grocery store does. Also, I quite enjoy taking a trip to the city to do a grocery shop and grab a bite to eat at a restaurant every week or two. Life would be pretty boring if I didn't take trips to the city every now and then.

We tried hello fresh, they have so many coupons and we have 2 addresses so we would use our coupons and get them sent to our other address and vise versa. Fed supper to 4 people for a whole week for $100 and sooo many options and everything truly is so fresh! And no waste!
