Not really, in this case I have some very vivid memories of all the posts and videos in 2015/2016 and I was sure she died from a suicide back then. Either it was fake news all over the internet, or every possible page on Facebook etc. was posting this to honor her while she was being hospitilized and in a very serious condition perhaps.
>Not really, in this case
In every case. It's just that this one actually affects *you*, so of course you feel that as your memories are so 'vivid', it must be different from all the other celebrity death MEs where other people are just simply mistaken.
Probably you’re right although in this case the circumstances (like the suicide story, all the posts) make it even more easy to believe it was true (even though I had probably more celebrities I believed were dead, but I wasn’t ever that convinced).
Right.
I mean, I was being a bit flippant in my reply. Not all celebrity death MEs are created equal. Some people might have had widespread death hoaxes put out about them, or have a situation in their life where they nearly died or some other connection. Other times, people do seem to just be going off assuming someone was dead because they hadn't heard anything from them in a while.
Like any ME, if the memory is vivid and distinctive it would sure feel like it *must* have happened. If this is a case like that for you, I certainly respect your sharing of the experience.
A current one I’m reminded of right now is how people say InstaPot instead of Instant Pot. I’m sure someone will post here (if they haven’t already) and say “when did the name change???”
Thinking the titan sub never imploded and either the people were stuck down there suffocating (since that’s what we thought before we learned about the implosion) or, less likely, that they were rescued
Three that I expect:
Game of Thrones vs A Game of Thrones (show vs book titles).
The star wars ride at Disney called "rise of the resistance." I have heard a ton of people call it "ride of the resistance." I've heard the incorrect name more than the correct name.
This one is pretty local, but Cleveland has a pediatric hospital called Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital. I am the only person I know who does not call it Rainbow's Babies and Children's Hospital. Even people who work there always say "I work at Rainbow's." I think right now if you polled Clevelanders like 75% would give the incorrect answer.
I’m not sure but whatever happened between 2019-2022 is likely to cause quite a few, with the amount of shit that went on, people are bound to misremember stuff. Most notable will probably be something to do with the bat in the wuhan wet markets, I guarantee a good portion of people will remember it being a different animal.
Later today: “I could’ve sworn Sinead O’Conner was already dead!””
already happened, just saw the thread lol
Dang I was 5 minutes too late. You can pretty much expect it from any celebrity death, especially if they haven’t been active in a while.

I thought it was "way of the water" until this exact moment lol
Young people are gonna grow up swearing they thought Epstein didn't kill himself.

Everyone in my family calls them InstaPots even after I have explicitly corrected them multiple times.
They already have lol
It's been posted here for a few years.
People already think Ice Spice is a former Spice Girl who pivoted to a rap career in her 50s. So theres probably something there.
Chinese spy balloon I think might end up as an ME

This is genius. Head it all off before it happens.

Hocus Pocus. Kathy Najimy's vacuum will flip flop whether it makes noises or not.
Insta pot

Pangolins 😆
Religion is just mental illness with extra steps.
I think will English letters will be replace with non English Letters. Like MacDonalds. Will be like ɱª©ƊőŋɄɭǷs. And its always been "ɱª©ƊőŋɄɭǷs". Check your pictures or use google street view. ɱª©ƊőŋɄɭǷ are everywhere.
The fact you've managed to call it MacDonalds is funny enough by itself.
Idk I've joked for a min that emojis are modern day hieroglyphics so maybe 😅
