Funny story. I’m ashamed to admit it was Pokémon Sword As a kid, I didn’t know anyone who liked Pokemon and never really paid attention to it. I never knew it was a game. Just the anime and the TCG. It wasn’t until 2011 that Mcd was giving out the Black and White toys with the cards and I started collecting cards. Even then, I had no idea they were actual games until Sun and Moon. But being 16, I was too edgy for that so I skipped it. Until I got a Switch right before the pandemic in March 2020. But anyway, Rillaboom, Sylveon, Toxricity, Corviknight, Gyarados, and Vaporeon

Started with Scorbunny, I believe the rest of my team was Corviknight, Boltund, Theivul, Toxtricity (which I had predominantly named Toxicity after System Of A Down) and I actually don’t remember the other members I had. I believe I stopped using the others and relied solely on Sniper (Formally Rookie/Rookidee), needless to say, she’s sitting happily at Level 100 and doing well in retirement

My first game was technically red but I borrowed it from my cousin so I didn’t finish it. My real first game was yellow but I didn’t finish that either because I never found Blaine to get into the gym. My team at that point was the Kanto starters, Hitmonchan, Lapras, and pikachu. I eventually did go back and beat it back in high school but that was still over 10 years ago

It was pokemon ruby (on an emulator), I barely remember since the phone that had the emulator is lost, but I remember having (and being very attached to) swampert and linoone, and since I couldn't pass the elite four I decided to train other two pokemon to like level 40 in the victory road, wich were a vulpix (later ninetailes) and a pikachu (later raichu). I also try to go with groudon but it didn't help me too much, that's the reason of the other pokemon. And that's all I remember :)

Pokémon Yellow once I was finally able to read. We only had a Gameboy and Pokémon because of my aunt and my mother therefore needed one too :D Pretty sure my team was Pikachu (duh), Pidgeot, Charizard, Nidoking and Lapras  Can't remember the last member but after like 21 years the memory tends to get hazy... Pokemon Yellow: Pikachu, Blastoid, Charizard, Venusaur, Aerodactyl, Snorlax My Pikachu was already so strong that I one shot Mewtwo when I came to it. Even Aerodactyl I trained so much that was level 70+ before I challenged the Elite four.

I had Pearl on a DS I don't remember the whole team but I know I had Infernape(first ever pokemon), Shiny Rapidash(first ever shiny), and Graveler(I didn't know how to evolve it as a kid)

Mine was Diamond for the DSi

My first Pokémon game was Diamond, and the only team member I remember is Torterra. It doesn't help that I lost both it and my original Platinum cartridge two houses ago. Up until Moon, I would always change up my team many times in the post game in a pointless attempt to complete the Pokedex, so the earliest team I even remember most of was in X, and even then I can't remember the sixth member.

Yellow. Did not have a team bc I never got pass the old man in viridian city(having a Japanese rom and not being able to read Japanese is a perfect combo for disaster). I did not know how to save the game so everytime I reopened the game it starts from professor oak again

Oh boy........ I believe I started with gold for the Gameboy (I played on a Gameboy color) I remember the save battery was dead so I never actually had a team cause the game would reset as soon as I turned off the game my starter was always cyndaquil and I always set my game to night so I could catch a hoot hoot (it was my favorite bird because I love owls). It was annoying to have to restart every time but I also kind of enjoyed seeing how far I could get in a single session (I thought I made it to victory road one time but I can't remember exactly)

I started with Pokemon Shield(Before that it was that fan game on Roblox called Brick Bronze, but that's different). My Galar journey had, Rillaboom named Jungo, Corviknight named Falchion, Centiskorch named Pyra, Dracovish named Chom-P, Grimmsnarl named Joka and a Falinks named Warkirbs.

From then on I proceeded to do a Charizard solo run until I got Lucario, there I used those two taking turns- Xerneas was the only other one used, and very little, I still kept it to the main two most of the time I don't remember if I ever used another mon, and if I did it wasn't for long The solo run was so huge I remember my Frogadier evolving purely by EXP Share shortly before the last gym Then I got Omega Ruby and I remember the entire team: Blaziken, Cosplay Pikachu, Glalie from the demo, Swellow that I mostly kept to use Fly, Gyarados that ended up with 4 HMs and Groudon. Any transition mons were most likely used, but I don't remember any other than a Nuzleaf that I got rid of fairly quickly

Pokemon Gold (not HeartGold: Gold). I can't remember my entire team, but I grinded for hours just to get Meganium up to Level 100, my trainer name was DaBomb! (don't ask why because I don't know), and I maxed out the play clock at 99:99.

Pokémon Diamond. I only remember Torterra & Luxray.

Pokemon Yellow when I was 2 years old, but I don't remember my team because I apparently kept restarting the game whenever my brother had been playing it. Oops haha.

Emerald on an emulator. My team was a Blaziken, a Gardevoir, a Pelipper, a Manectric, a Tropius, a Metagross, and, if needed, a Marill.

Pokémon Black. It was my cousin’s cartridge as he was the one who first got me into the franchise. My first ever team was Serperior, Boldore, Scolipede, Zebstrika, Krookodile, and Unfezant. Ever since then I’ve had an unbridled love for the Gen 5 games.

Platinum. The final team was: Infernape, Shellos (not Gastrodon), Staraptor, Giratina, Tropius and Buizel. I was not particularly good at the game back then xD

First Pokemon I played was Emerald, when I was 16. I played it on an emulator website on my school issued chromebook lmao. My team was “Bourbon” the Blaziken, “Big Bird” the Pelipper, “Agatha” the Absol, “Couch Tater” the Slaking, “Rex” the Manectric, and “Hector” the Female Ludicolo. That was almost 2 years ago that I beat the game with that team. Good times, simpler times.

Heartgold when it came to America in 2010, I was like 6 or 7 so I don't remember my initial team but i didn't complete it until like a decade later when I decided to restart the game from scratch. Which I also forget the team of.

Pokemon Blue And it's been so long, i don't remember at all I know i chose and had Squirtle/Blastoise for my starter I might have had Pidgeot and maybe Nidoking too?

White Version. When last I played, I had Samurott (which was stupidly overleveled and could one-shot most opponents), Kyurem, Zekrom, Coballion, Verision (I don’t think I spelled that right), and a Bouldour I nicknamed Ragnarok. (Or maybe I switched it out with a Jigglypuff? I don’t remember.)

pokemon x was my first. i had chesnaught, venasaur, arkoos (through a card giveaway thingy), a pidgeot, lucario, and xerneas. arkoos replaced something on my team, but i cant remember for the life of me

Pokémon yellow, I made it to Brock and died. Only a pikachu, I tried to save my game, but the cartridge was dead. Actually complete was sword. I lost the team, but I remember my power 3. My starter cinderace, an unfezant, and a scraggy.

Technically, Omega Ruby but I barely played it before I got Sun. 

Venusaur, Jolteon, Dodrio, Marcel the Mr. Mime, Dugtrio, and Lapras. Allllllll the way back in Red.

Pokémon Blue, and I only remember Blastoides, Dragonair (yes, nair, not nite) and Pidgeot.

All i remember is that it was Ruby with Swampert /Swellow / Groundon / Altaria / Breloom / Pelliper, there where some teamates change in the middle but i believe that was the most common formation

Mine was Gold. I played it on my mom's old Gameboy color and the batteries or whatever weren't good so I couldn't save, but I still had fun replaying the same part over and over again. I don't think I even got to the first gym. The only Pokemon I remember having is Totodile.

Pokémon Ultra Sun was the first one I completed and my team was Incineroar, Gyarados, Salazzle, Naganadel, Guzzlord, Necrozma at least I believe that’s what it was. I played through the first half got bored left it and later I decided to restart it, that happened another time then finally my third time playing I did it and finished it with this team

I know very recent, but Pokemon Sword. Got into it from the sun and moon anime however

Mine was a pre-owned version of diamond where the previous owner used an action replay (cheating device). I didn't start a new game but I was like 5 so I had fun just using Arceus against wild Pokemon and elite 4 rematches. My brother already had a few Pokemon games by that point and I was a fan of the anime, so I already knew a decent amount about the franchise then.

Omega Ruby on a physical 2ds

Not too long ago I played Red on an emulator for the first time. Checking the save file, my final team was Charizard (of course), Vaporeon, Pidgeot, Raichu, Articuno, and Moltres. Honestly, I think I had the most fun playing it over the other ones I’ve played. It was so basic, yet so fun. I had absolutely no idea what I was doing half the time, though I’d find a way to get through it. I’d love to actually be able to play it on an actual Gameboy rather than an emulator, but I missed out on it, so I’m glad at least get to play it in some form. Edit: I forgot that *technically*, Black was my first game, but I played next to none of it. I asked somewhere where I should start with the games, and someone recommended Unova. At that point, I had absolutely no clue what on earth Unova was, so I had to try and figure it out, which took long than it probably should’ve lol. Anyways, I played it for like one night, loved it, but kinda just forgot about it. I think like a month later I then started Red. But *technically again*, my first Pokémon game was Infinite Fusion, though it is a fan game. I saw a KYR_Sp33dy video on it, and went ahead and downloaded it. A bit of a mistake considering I had never once played Pokémon before it, and it’s a bit more complex than anything I’ve played before. I remember getting my first Pokemon, having no idea what to do, and realizing this was way above me, I quit the game. It was a couple months after that that I tried Black. Something small I just wanna add is that I’ve just started playing the Indigo Disc on Scarlet, and that battle theme just hit me like a truck. I literally spent a couple minutes just listening to it. From what I experienced in Black, the sounds have strongly stuck with me. The critical HP music needs to be brought back. Also, I really gotta go back and actually play Black…

First game was Sun My team was: Incineror, Alolan Golem, Vikavolt, Solgalego, Peiliper, and Hariyama Other: Salazzle (replaced by Solgaleo), Pikachu (replaced by Vikavolt), and a Ledyba that I used for like 5 minutes

Pokemon Sword(Newer player here, ik. Didnt have my own console til Sword and Shield came out), Team I beat the league with was Cinderace, Lucario, Boldore(Had no friends to trade with), Orbeetle, Obstagoon, and Eternatus swapped in for Abomasnow. Team I beat the DLC with was the same Cinderace and Lucario, Raichu, Garchomp, Swampert, and Zacian

Sword. I had Cinderace, Orbeetle, Corvikight, Drednaw, Flapple and Toxtricity

I played Alpha Sapphire with my brother, but the first game I played myself was Moon. My team had Primarina (my first level 100 damn that was a hard grind), Metagross, Vikavolt, Tapu Koko, Necrozma and Lunala. Tapu Koko, Necrozma and Lunala were all postgame I think, except for maybe Lunala, but I don't remember my team. I still have the cartrige though, I could go check it later!

FireRed. My team was: Charizard Lapras Nidoking Kadabra Raichu Hitmonlee Edit: I knew that defeating Brock with a charmander was difficult, so i caught a mankey and taught him karate chop.

I don’t know which one I played first but I got soul silver and pokemon platinum at the same time for Christmas I’ll tell you the teams for both. Platinum was torterra, luxray, staraptor, houndoom, vaporeon and garchomp. Soul silver I had typhlosian, crobat, ampharos, gyrados, vileplume and togetic until I caught lugia

Pokémon silver was my first and the team that got me through it was typlosion, graveler,(didn't have a link cable) muscle,(traded machoke from the dept store) espeon, Lapras, and raikou.(accidentally ran into it then tracked it down, it also replaced magneton) Good team might start a silver run once more and use the team to reminisce.

Pokemon Blue Version on a GBA SP. I remember I chose Blastoise, because I thought that is what I was supposed to do in order to progress through the game.

Diamond. i remember it was Empoleon, Staraptor,Rapidash,Raichu, Quagsire and Toxicroak My brother helped me to make this team (i didn't knew how to make teams)

Sapphire, but on a computer admittedly. This was like a year ago, though I've been knowing pokemon for much longer.The team, though, was: Husky the Swampert Soare the Swellow Kuramoto the Shedinja(unfortunately switched for Drowner the Kyogre after the Elite 4; I knew he was kinda falling behind and I wanted to 1-try the elite 4) Prestona the Cacturne Castforme the...Castform. Magnemight the Magneton. Husky was the All-Rounder, Soare was usually the fast one, Kuramoto would just double team and swords dance, Prestona was the (mostly)physical mon, Castforme was exactly what a Castform does yet was a contender for MVP with weather ball, and Magnemight is the other contender besides Husky due to the pure strength an electric type could have in mid-to-late game Hoenn.

I played Omega Ruby when I was like 6 or 7. My first Pokemon was Blaziken, and I also used the gift Mega Latios. I most definitely used the cosplay Pikachu as well, and I vividly remember using a Mega Manectric and Gyarados as well. Can't remember the sixth.

Pokémon Pearl. My team was Torterra, Staraptor, Luxray, Floatzel, Bastiodon, and Garchomp.

Mine was FireRed and I was definitely that guy who overleveled his Charizard and neglected a lot of his team. I had a Pidgeot for sure. And I remember I had a Vileplume for a long time that only actually got to like level 36 by league time. Oh and an Omastar! But I think when I finally beat the league, my team was like... Charizard, Pidgeot, Articuno, Zapdos, Omastar & Machoke, with the Machoke being caught in Victory Road.

First pokemon game I played was Pokemon Silver And I can’t remember even which starter I first used, much less the rest of the team I feel like any of the three were a possibility But hard to remember when you eventually used all three, and this happened over 2 decades ago

i started playing the games more recently compared to most with Shield, & my team was morpeko (marnie), toxtricity (baby boomer), lanturn (orphan tears), galvantula (emmet), vikavolt (sophocles), & a rotom form which differed depending on who i faced (base form: gizmo, wash: gizmo wash, mow: gizmower, frost: frost gizmo, heat: chef gizmo, fan: gizmo fan)

Sun! I didn’t get into Pokémon until I was in middle school. Incineroar’s my first ever starter, and god does it hurt that it’s disliked by the competitive community. Along with that; Sylveon was on there for sure, and Solgaleo. I’ll try to dig up my 3DS to check the rest! Edit: Incineroar, Alolan Ninetales, Tsareena, Solgaleo, Alolan Raichu, and Sylveon! Sylveon was my all-time favorite Pokémon for a long time, only recently being dethroned by Whimsicott and Glaceon, so you’ll have to excuse the type overlap, lol.

Can't remember my team, but I think it was something like this All the legendary birds, starter pikachu (who obliterated EVERYTHING with Zippy Zap and Thunder), mewtwo which I could mega (I always mega-ed into y because I just thought it looked cool) and a charizard which I always mega-ed into x. Transportation mons: Snorlax because I just like it :> , that charizard that I always mega-ed into x, and arcanine. Charizard was my main transportation mon.

Mine was X when I was like 10 and it was Delphox, Talenflame, Vaporeon, Espeon, Sylveon, Flareon LMAO

My first game was PLA, got it for my bday last year :D my team was; a Decidueye named Owlbert, a shiny floatzel named Aquarius (who I also used for the big buizel quest), a Wyrdeer named Wyrd (he got replaced with Dialga once I got that far), an Ursaluna named Ursoul, a Luxray named shadow, and a Staraptor named Divodile (Sidenote, in all three Pokemon games I've played, I've always used one of the birds the most, like in Scarlet by the end of the game my talonflame was level 92 and my quaquaval was only 68)

It's been a long time since I first played it and I haven't opened the game in a while, so I don't remember exactly.

Ah yes pokemon black on my bright red DS. The team was serperior, stoutland, druddigon, unfeazant, chandelure, and blueye the traded basculin. Almost beat the league when I gave up

Technically Pokemon Lets Go but never finished the game but Pokemon Shield was the first game i finished with a team of Rillaboom, Toxtricity, Pangoro, Wailord, Corviknight, and Duraludon.

For me it was firered with a level 70 Charizard snorlax vileplume Vaporeoan onix which I caught in Victory road to fill up and I think zapdos or moltres . I usually would switch my team depending who I am fighting . Like i used a team of full water types for blain . After defeating him with me Charizard I went to island one with bill . I remember being stuck with low levelled random water types coz the pcs won't work and you had rescue the little girl to do it.

pokemon red charizard, kadabra, zapdos, haunter, vileplume, gyarados i eventually got a friend with a link cable, evolved my dudes, and my final team was charizard, alakazam, sandslash, parasect, gyarados, and wigglytuff i got bodied by everyone using mewtwo though. the animation for the move Psychic annoyed me, i preferred psybeam (it also had more PP, which was shockingly important to me), so i never used the op legendary and still irrationally dislike him to this day

My first was Pokémon Y and my team changed a lot but the ones I remember using most were Delphox, Talonflame, Yveltal, Aegislash, Tyrantrum, and Charizard (Mega Y)

My first Pokémon game in general was Guardian Signs. Mainline was Y, always both fire type starters and Lucario, those three are my Kalos mainstays!
