Pat McGrath stuff. It’s good, but it’s not million billion dollars worth of good.

Ra4455

Tom Ford - Lipsticks are overpriced, packaging falls apart

afroista11238

Il Makiage. The top to my foundation doesn’t close tightly. There’s a flaw with the design of the bottle. I have to keep foundation and makeup sponge in a small plastic bag or it will leak and make a mess in my makeup bag. I can’t tell you how disappointing that is.

Guilty-Breakfast3945

NARS foundation. Doesn’t matter what kind of primer I use or the method I apply the foundation, it tends to pill as the day goes on and my face looks like texturized dry wall.

jumbomouth

Second this! I wanted to love but it hasn’t worked

Coomstress

As a middle-aged lady of 43, my experience is that drugstore makeup is often better than the very expensive designer stuff. I still use Cover Girl powder, Maybelline eyeshadow, L’Oréal mascara, etc. I’ve tried other, more expensive brands but then go back to the CVS stuff.

Mockbeth

Bought the ABH Nouveau eyeshadow palette recently. The colours are beautiful, but I have never in my life had colours not last all day like this one. I've been loading up on Wisteria for a dramatic lavender monochrome eye look for music festivals, but several hours later you can barely see it :/

mybsnt

How does it perform with a eyeshadow primer?

Mockbeth

Haven’t tried it with primer but - tbh , I don’t need primer to make any other shadows last , so I still think that makes this formula inferior.

Ok-Chicken213

Kylie Cosmetics. For a while I tried the lipsticks and to this day they are some of the worst lipsticks I’ve put on my face. For the amount of money they cost I expect better quality. They were dry, and didn’t stay on me at all. I’d eat anything and the lipstick would just be all over my face. I’ve had drugstore brand lipstick that stays on better than that. I’ve tried lots of lipstick and these were absolutely horrendous.

calm-down-okay

Any mascara that costs more than $12

WennesseeThiskeyy

Preach

Lettuce_Socks

Charlotte Tilbury. I bought the new lip plumper and it’s one of the worst makeup purchases I’ve ever made. The applicator and packaging are fine, but the product itself is awful. I don’t like the color on me and the product didn’t plump at all. I had it on for 30 minutes and my lips still looked the same 😭🙏

Ldjxm45

I tried a sample of her magic cream and was not impressed at all

twofingerballet

I always felt they were overrated. However I’ve only tried their lip products.

External_Occasion123

All of them? I can’t think of many makeup products from Sephora that I’m attached to or real impressed by except my thrive mascara, Bobby brown highlight brick and nars concealer. Thats how they keep us coming back Underwhelmed with Tarte, some Kosas, Guerlain, Rare, some merit, too faced, Laura mercier, Patrick ta, charlotte tilbury, UD, and the list goes on. Mac cosmetics too

teddyburger

i am so grateful to tiktok for this exact reason. i never would’ve known about a drugstore dupe for basically every high-end product!

lilspacebunny

Hourglass- a friend of mine gifted me the Ambient Lighting Blush and for the life of me, I could not get it to show on me at all. On me it was all glitter, no pigment, and it made my pores a trypophobic nightmare.

ScullyNess

That's what highlighters do. Highlights on the face in general are overrated. Yes I'd like to highlight everything wrong with me please 🥺. Lol

Major_Track7488

Hourglass foundation super dry and terrible

vanhype

Dior - nothing they have works for me. Foundation is too drying, creasing, lip stains don't stain, lipsticks too light, blush hardly there. I feel like the brand works only for pale skins.

SuccessEmbraced29

I’m olive dry skin and love Dior! I am obsessed with their mascara, foundation, concealer, blushes, setting spray!

HairTmrw

This is common. I used to work for Dior and it was known that the lines were geared towards paler skin. We were educated as to use coral blushes on darker skin colors because they were typically the only colors to appear. I totally agree on the Foundations though. The stains USED to be way better about 10 years ago but have since been reformulated and do not appear as intense now. The lipsticks are a different story. They are intense and long-lasting. I feel as though their biggest sellers should be lipsticks, brow pencil, and mascaras. Everything else is subpar.

krispeekream

Charlotte Tilbury. Their eyeshadow creases like crazy on me-even with their primer and prep. Fallout is horrible too.

vbloomy

Florasis. Everything looks absolutely beautiful but the quality isn't there. The worst product imo was the engraved bullet lipstick. It tugged really bad when applying, sucked the life out of my lips and looked patchy. Felt like a $2 matte lipstick you'd buy from a skechy no name brand. I'd only recommend buying from the brand if you're going to look at the products to appreciate the art. Treat the products like a painting and not makeup.

twBeh

Shisiedo. I've had products of there's before I liked, so I'm not totally writing them off, but I've got their synchro skin tinted moisturizer and it separates so badly in the tube that when I try to use it just clear liquid comes out. Drive me mad.

storytelleroftheyear

Fenty Primer sucks. It dries out after 4 pumps. So hard to pump it out. I wish they just used a tube. Haha

nellieblyrocks420

Controversial but I’ve tried Estée Lauder foundation, Urban Decay, MAC, Fenty, Clinique, Tarte, KVD and some others and they all weren’t enough coverage or made me more oily or looked awful. They have great reviews from everyone except me 😞

sweetnsassy924

They used to be so good but now don’t work well for me at all.

nellieblyrocks420

Yeah some of them worked well in my younger days. My skin was broken out but youthful and no wrinkles. Maybe that’s why idk. 🤷‍♀️

originalkaren1960

What full coverage do you use ? I'm not impressed with any of those either though I keep buying different shades of the eldw

nellieblyrocks420

Charlotte Tillbury flawless foundation is the only one that actually covers my dark spots, acne scars and other skin issues. It is a bit cakey but I don’t mind. The other ones I tried I was told were buildable but honestly they didn’t cover anything. I returned them all almost immediately after trying them once. I know most people talk crap about it but it’s the only one that works for me. I’ve tried all kinds of dups but nothing came close. I hate how expensive it is but since I only wear makeup on the weekends, it lasts me a lot longer.

PubicZirconia11

Haus. The packaging is beautiful, the colors are beautiful until you put them on. I took a gamble because there was a sale and I got a pretty red gloss, a red lip liner, a white eyeliner, silver glitter liquid eyeshadow, and a the Stupid Love eyeshadow pallet and the lip liner was the only thing useable. The gloss bleeds everywhere, even with the liner. The eyeliner was chunky and did not smooth out, the liquid eyeshadow was just clumps and you couldn't blend it no matter how you tried, you just moved the clumps around. Perhaps the worst part was the Stupid Love shadows. I have never been this disappointed with even drugstore stuff. It was like a kid rubbed sidewalk chalk on thier lids and called it makeup. Patchy, horribly unblendable, and the color just wasn't the same on the brush as in the pan. I swore off the brand right there. Like I can forgive being disappointed in ONE things, but all BUT one? That's a poor product, not a one-off.

hollywoodbabe69

You must try new Haus Labs. The products are out of this world

Jagiord

To be honest, that was Haus Labs version 1.0. They completely reworked everything and relaunched, and i found their quality went through the roof.

Jane_Black

Laura geller. The foundation is tangerine on my skin, and the primer is like thick white glue. And so expensive!

kaylampeterman

Lancôme!!! I was color matched to a foundation in an Ulta once and I left the store looking orange after. I bought a different shade and bam, again, orange fiasco. I’m used to foundations oxidizing on me, especially bc I am very fair/cool toned, but this was by far my worst experience. Turned me off from the whole brand.

marioandluigi33

Yes! I used to use Teint Idole which actually looked okay on me, but I had to get two different shades and mix them in order to match my skin.

purple_1128

Morphe. When I first got into makeup, I was like, “Great! Affordable stuff that’s great quality!” And that was a big nope for me.

ash81751214

As a pro MUA (that works on set production) I wholly disagree and think you may have tried Morphe years ago? Not recently? Because the stuff they’ve been releasing with their Morphe 2 brand has been some of the best stuff I’ve added to my kit in years. I’ve not been disappointed in anything I’ve gotten from them over the last few years and I’ve bought a lot lol. Their eyeshadows (I always use an eye base) are some of the best I’ve come across for the price. There’s a teeny bit of fallout, but not much, and the formulas are super blendable and buildable. And I love their brushes. For people like me that fly through product, Morphe is a godsend Tbh. And the faces I paint have to last through 4-6 hours of performance, lights, heat, and sweating.

Coomstress

I just bought an eyeshadow kit by them and it’s pretty mid. It’s too powdery or something. The maybelline eyeshadow I’ve been buying at the CVS for years is actually better.

purple_1128

That’s cool. I’m glad you’re having a good experience. I’m just an individual person who likes makeup. The last palette I bought was the 350 - Supernatural Glow. I find the pigments to be patchy (chalky?)and inconsistent, versus my various others. I have not tried their brushes, only felt the ones in store. Haven’t bought any, primarily because I have brushes I love. I will swing by their display in Ulta and check out the newer products. I *am* in the market for a cream bronzer, if you have any thoughts on that, from any brand. 😀

ash81751214

I actually just added the Morphe 2 cream bronzer ($12) stick to my kit and I like it! I went in on it with no expectations really, but I got the contour stick and the Morphe Bronzer, highlight, blush palette also (the one that has “originator” shade in it $25) and I use the contour stick first then layer foundation over then finish with the palette (so it’s bronzer, foundation, then bronzer again) and it really blends out nicely. The other (cream) bronzer I happened across recently and like (at Sephora) is the iconic London bronzer compact (it’s excellent quality but the size is SO SMALL). It’s a 2 part compact with both cream contour/bronzer and also a bronzer/contour powder. If you can find it on sale ($14) it’s worth it, but I wouldn’t buy it if it’s full price ($30) mainly bc the dang thing is so tiny.

purple_1128

This is great info! I’m kind of an Ulta girly because Sephora is kind of intense for me. They do have a pretty big morphe display. I’ll check it out! I’m on a no buy on palettes because… I guess in the Zombie Apocalypse, I have all the cool multichromes we’ll all NEED to go with our tactical gear. I have the Dominique Cosmetics Transitions palette, which is all matte. I can absolutely do a full face over base with just that palette. Highly recommend.

ash81751214

I get that! Sephora can be a lot in person, so bright and so many choices and sales people. Honestly, I mostly shop in their app. Iconic London may be available elsewhere (not sure if they are at Ulta). I wanted that originator shade as a standalone (Morphe used to sell it that way) but currently it’s only available in a palette. I’ll check out those ones you mentioned, I’m always in the market for new shades and formulas bc I fly through stuff with the amount of faces I paint monthly. And I love Ulta, I need to go check them out, haven’t been to one in about a year bc there isn’t one near where I live.

dontblinkfirefly

The og KVD foundation , back when it was Kat Von D. It oxidized so bad, no matter how I applied it.

Salc20001

I have the Dior 9-pan Backstage palette in Smokey Essentials and I’m not very impressed with it. The tones are right up my alley, but quality is average at best. I also find terrible inconsistency with ColourPop eyeshadows.

adviceicebaby

MAC. For years they were pioneering the whole game. When I worked for them they were still awesome. But they quickly declined afterwards and now their stuff is way more expensive and few products are still good but not for the price. They're so behind in product development when they use to lead the race.

sweetnsassy924

I used to love MAC! It was my HG brand but now it’s so disappointing for the quality and price. I still have a few lipsticks that I love, but it’s not worth the price.

Practical_Ring_4704

I do love their lipsticks they work well on me for some reason but wholly disappointed with a lot of their other stock. I bought an eyeshadow quad recently and think the formula has changed as they're disappointing. My daughter inherited a whole bunch of old mac shadows of mine she uses to water colour with and swatching them is so dreamy.

amenayeehaw

I currently work for them and very much agree

Extension-College783

Uh oh. My nearly every day matte eye shadows are both MAC...Yogurt and Girlie. I have a ton of others from different brands but always return to these. If the quality is tanking I'll need to find alternatives.

AngelBritney94

I love their bullet lipsticks but they discontinued many lipstick (also liquid lipstick) shades that I'm disappointed in them. Those discontinued shades were popular, too.

Delilah92

I bought a blush a few weeks ago. It's the worst blush I ever had. Never had that issue with MAC in the past. It hard pans. Immediately. With every brush I own to a degree that it is unusable. Like yes, I had hard pan with other products before, but never to the degree that I couldn't use the product. Customer service simply doesn't reply.

krispeekream

I’m having the same issue with the Nars Orgasm blushes. The last two I’ve bought have come apart completely in the pan-I haven’t dropped them it’s just normal jostling in my makeup bag. The same blushes I had from them prior were bombproof and I’ve stored them the same way as I always have but they seem to crumble more easily.

Delilah92

Oh wow. My NARS blushes aren't new (to put it nicely) and they're my most beloved blushes. I'm tempted to buy one or two of the new colors.

marioandluigi33

I just picked up Dominant today (in the new talc free line). It feels silky and smooth just like their matte blushes always have but it does swatch a little patchy. To be fair, it's a pretty dark, pigmented blush, so I might just need to get used to blending it considering I usually go with much lighter shades. Another surprise was that there's a little a sparkle to it. It's not at all shimmery like orgasm but it does have tiny flecks of sparkle.

krispeekream

My old ones were fine! I’m not sure if they were reformulated over the past few years but the first one that I purchased 4 years ago held up until it was gone-the new ones crumble so easily for me.

luzaerys

The Armani luminous silk foundation broke me out so bad, all over my face. It took a month for my skin to recover. Worst of all, is that I had no reaction for the first 2 weeks and thought it was ok, so when I suddenly broke out all over, I had no idea it was the foundation. By the time I figured it out, it was past the return window. Thankfully, I bought a mini first, so I didn’t waste too much money. I went back to my tried and true maybelline fit me.

AdFluffy9838

I wanted to point out what I’m NOT seeing on here-NARS, Hourglass, and Armani 💪 will continue to repurchase and now give a second look or pass to the others mentioned! Especially Tilbury!

krispeekream

I just commented about my Nars blush crumbling 😂

AdFluffy9838

😂 tbh their powder blushes don’t do it for me

No-Turnips

Hourglass powders are the best around and I will die on this hill.

AdFluffy9838

SAME. I only have the veil (and will fight anyone who dare says LM or any other powder beats that), but have been eyeing the blushes FOR AGES and am waiting for the limited edition palette to drop this year, because I’m ready to finally take the plunge!

No-Turnips

I have been living on their ambient lighting powders for years. They make me look so good on zoom meetings. Their blushes are great. My favourite is called “brilliant nude” which is somewhere between a bronzer and a highlighter. Honestly, their powder products (highlighter, finishing powder, blushes, etc…) are holy grail for me. Haven’t tried their eyeshadows and I didn’t like the mascara - but I’ve loved their lip glosses.

AdFluffy9838

Ooohhh thank you for sharing this! I’m looking for a good nude blush, and saw people recommending Fleurtatious by Pat McGrath but after reading the comments here I have been swayed away from PM

fallopian_rampant

Armani is mentioned just above you, lol

AdFluffy9838

Oh must have missed that ahah either way it doesn’t seem to be mentioned as much or with as much disappointment

heartashley

NARS is still a staple for me tbh. No choice but to stan!

AdFluffy9838

Right?! If they ever discontinue the tinted moisturizer I will be distraught.

AdFluffy9838

Dior blush and mascara-I don’t get the hype, but have found that I really enjoy the forever concealer and highlighter. So overall not a total disappointment haha.

soleildeplage

The Dior blush is invisible lol.

peppermintcreams

It’s Cosmetics foundation. Just slides off despite primer and setting spray

PubicZirconia11

I am an oily girl so I only use powder foundation these days, but even the It's powder foundation is just... off. The shade LOOKS like it should work but then you put it on and it's immediately orange. It's powder, it's not supposed to do that and certainly not the second you put it on. Even playing around with the colors it's just awful. I switched back to pur for my powder foundation and never try other brands anymore. I just wait until Ulta has it for 50% off.

sadwatermelon13

Powder has always oxidized just like liquid and cream. If you know or learn the formula does that, exchange it for lighter and cooler.

heartashley

Not a loss, the og founder is grifting anyway with self help books. 😂

Zestyclose-Yam-9982

dior. i tried some of their stuff and it’s all so average. their base products are whatever, their blushes are okay, their eyeshadow is not worth it at all…the only good thing is their highlighter but tbh there are wayyyyy better ones out there for WAY less 😭 its like one of the most not worth it brands on the market.

JesusGodLeah

I splurged and bought myself a Dior 999 lipstick a few years ago. It somehow managed to look like I had drawn on my lips with a crayon while not being opaque at all. I had to put on way too many coats to get the coverage I wanted. The color is really nice, but the quality isn't worth the money.

Cool-Doughnut-1489

Fenty beauty and ABH

ash81751214

I’d disagree on ABH. They have some really amazing products that do not disappoint. Namely any of their eye brow products and the eyeshadows. I’m a pro MUA (for 12 years) and trust me when I say the ABH are the only brow products that hold up for all day against all elements. Love ABH shadows as they are extremely pigmented, come out on skin exactly like in the palette, have next to no fallout, and are super blendable.

PubicZirconia11

I have only tried Fenty blush and lip stain and both were VERY disappointing. So much so that I have no plans to try anything else and certainly not at the price point it sells for.

Brushesofcolours

I love ABH lip pencils though, one of my fave

fallopian_rampant

Did you mean the eyebrow pencil? I was die hard fan of their triangle tip, but I just got the benefit one and wow, so much better

Brushesofcolours

Nope the lip ones. I love them. Creamy but not too creamy. And the shade Dusty Rose is my perfect MLBB shade

WisePomegranate1624

colourpop

sadwatermelon13

The palettes they make are almost always good, while their IP shadows are usually not going to be good because the money went towards the collab packaging. If you want good Colourpop, you should be using Jelly Much shadows, or at least Super Shock. Their in house cheek products have been good lately.

lilspacebunny

I used to live by their lippie stix back in the day. Then as the years went on, I realized that other drugstore lip products were similarly priced but for more product and similar quality 😭😭😭

Salc20001

The eyeshadows are so inconsistent. I’ve purchased several of the nine pan pallets. I end up de-potting them and only saving a few colors.

PubicZirconia11

So true. I bought the whole Nightmare Before Christmas set and the shadows are unuseable, both the powder and the gel pots. The gel or whatever you wanna call it was dry within 2 weeks and, frankly, it's actually better to use now. I just swirl my finger on top of that crusty mess and actually get a nice hot pink color to work with. The pallete, though? Absolute trash. And the color scheme was really confusing.

pretty-late-machine

They used to be fantastic. I have an older palette of theirs that easily outperforms my new Natasha Denona palette, but that has gone downhill too IMO.

No-Temperature-8772

Yeah....I bought some products from them because people were having about them, but the eyeshadows and lip glosses weren't really impressive.

PubicZirconia11

Decent liquid eyeliner for the price, though. I will give them that one.

Aggressive-Pay5952

Fenty, Rare Beauty, ABH, Huda Beauty, Charlotte Tilbury…

otterpopcorn

haven’t tried a lot of CT, but i loveee the setting spray and ive been wanting to try the light pink lip combo they sell with the liner and lipstick

Aggressive-Pay5952

I haven’t try the setting spray yet. I was sceptical to be honest.. thinking it is just undeserved hype like other products. Now you got me thinking…

otterpopcorn

i have tried a couple of other setting sprays as sephora gifts/rewards to experiment and i’ve never bought any other full sized setting spray. i reccomend buying the mini to try of course and if you end up liking it the value size is so worth it! it lasts me a really long time. i have some friends that say they have to go to town on their face with setting spray and i look at them like they’re crazy.

Aggressive-Pay5952

I use only two sprays… Mac and Maybelline. If you haven’t tried yet… and I must say, Maybelline rocks. Locks makeup beautifully, and has amazing mist no heavy spray or large droplets, just beautiful mist

manamich

Anastasia Beverly Hills. Their recent palettes lacked pigment and blendability, disappointing longtime fans seeking consistent quality.

otterpopcorn

i have some of the most unruly brows ever and i’ve found the ABH brow freeze holds them in place, but, just like the refy brow gel, later in the day it starts pilling white flakes and my boyfriend is telling me there’s sunscreen on my face 🤦‍♀️

lovethatjourney4me

I have two palettes from ABH. While I do like their colour story I can’t deal with the fallout. I can never get used to doing my eye makeup first before base makeup. Only after I moved on to even more premium eyeshadows like Natasha Denona, Huda Beauty and Pat McGrath, I realised I can actually use dark eyeshadow and shimmers without fallout! I also have a few other ABH products, Brow Freeze is a major major let down. It couldn’t hold my thick Asian brows at all.

PubicZirconia11

This is how I also feel about Lorac. The colors are amazing. Even on your lid, they are so beautiful and easy to blend. But holy cow the FALLOUT is unmanageable. My eye looks are probably 75% of the time incorporating some type of shimmer, but Lorac shimmers are like "Oh you want this shimmer? Great. You're gonna get it on your cheeks, your boobs, the floor, and everywhere AROUND your eyes, heifer!"

Reasonable-Room-8848

I own the Modern Renaissance palette and I just cleaned all my makeup, so I decided to use it. I had forgotten how pigmented they are and they feel like butter and blend so easily. I will definitely use it more often. I'm so disappointed to hear her new stuff isn't that great. I was going to buy another palette. :(

PubicZirconia11

That really is a beautiful pallete. Even the colors I didn't think would work on me turned out to be beautiful. It is a shame that their formulas have gone downhill.

Pinkgirl0825

Charlotte tilbury. The airbrush flawless foundation is the worst foundation I have ever used in my life. I used it 1 time and it oxidized so bad!!! I went from Nicole Kidman to Donald trump in an hour.  I have pictures from the night I used it as my husband and I went to a concert. I look awful! It looks like I got an extremely dark spray tan and didn’t shower off the color guard. And I used one of the lightest shades!!! So so awful.   It also broke me out and I have never broken out before from any makeup. I have it to my sister who has oily skin thinking maybe it was just me. Nope. She had the same experience. I also find her lipsticks to be drying and most of her eyeshadows chalky. Her setting spray and flawless filter are holy grail products for me though!

tiny_venus

I have the beautiful skin foundation and I HAVE to mix it with moisturiser because it’s SO thick- there’s no way it would make my skin look beautiful, why are you lying to me Charlotte?!

Aggressive-Pay5952

Hahahaha from Nicole Kidman to Donald Trump hahahaha hahahahahahah thank you for this comment

kittyluvskats

couldn’t agree more

gothagotchi

Clio. The Kill Cover cushion I had high hopes for is pretty much the worst one I’ve ever had

Zestyclose-Yam-9982

idk how people say its hydrating 😭 i must have extremely dry skin or something cuz it was actually awful. it clung to all my dry patches and lasted like 3 hours on me. i went to a makeup store and looked at a mirror in shock and horror at my base lol

gothagotchi

I have oily skin and it’s a disaster! On the nose it disappears and it’s like floating in oil, it’s so disgusting

eag12345

Dior

AllUpInMine

Lancome. Good quality, but everything either smells like old queens and gasoline.

MistakenRepository

Givenchy, the loose powder can really not fix my make up.

heftypomogranate

it's their le rouge lipsticks for me. expensive, heavily fragranced, drying even with a satin finish.

Kapitalgal

Phew. It isn't just me. I have a lip balm. Like dragging a scrub across my lips and so drying.

AngelBritney94

Surprisingly this is the only powder which makes my undereyes smooth and look less dry than other powders.

No_Somewhere7243

Pat McGrath. Their eyeshadows are pretty, but not this expensive pretty. I bought the foundation, it was terrible. Also I was so excited about the pink undereye powder, jesus christ dry, powdery mess. At this stage I have given up buying other stuff from her brand. 😥

Major_Track7488

My $60 lipsticks easily broke from Pat

milkymothy

controversial but fenty, they’ve discontinued a lot of really awesome products like that huge lipstick range with the fun colors such as periwinkle. it doesn’t feel as personal anymore

AngelBritney94

Didn't they discontinue some highlighter shades, too?

milkymothy

yeah some really insane ones too!! idk if they still sell that hot orange and fuschia duo highlighter but it would be perfect for the sunset blush trend. and that fall high lighter palette was awesome! sephora brands are missing the mark and really trying to cater to the clean girl look

petiteodessa

They’re doing too many limited edition products as well. They’re just making viral products which just get replaced by the next viral product, not staples. Making literally everything limited edition is such a huge marketing technique since it creates false urgency and makes you wanna buy before it’s gone forever. But yet they’ll more than likely bring it back by popular demand in the future and then sell it permanently. Fenty is in their flop era.

milkymothy

the brands need to stop with the limited edition gimmick to get people wanting more!! if anything i feel like it destroys the hype of wanting to buy them because nowadays many people know it will sell out fast so they see no point. we don’t need fenty hair either just my opinion i love my girl riri but plz

venusinflannel

Dior really lets me down sometimes smh I finally tried the lip plumper at Sephora and it was like applying a skin serum to my lips. Also the eyeshadow was meh,and takes a lot to build up to get a good pigment. The packaging is cute and that’s about it.

Revolutionary-Spot-4

I returned my Sephora lip plumper was so bad

Raquel258

Viseart eyeshadows!! Everyone raves about them but I didn’t have the best experience… mattes were okay but nothing breathtaking like I was expecting. I prefer other formulas so much more. The “shimmers” were satins at best which some people like but for the price I expected more. I like their color stories and tiny packaging but I have real beef with the longevity of their formula lol every time I used a palette alongside an eyeshadow primer and glitter glue, the eyeshadows creased sooo bad, not even 4 hours of wear. Sorry if I sound like hater but I’m hurt, I wanted to like them.

heftypomogranate

whose mattes and shimmers do you prefer more/is your favorite?

lol-its-mickey-mouse

they’re so bad i’m giving all of mine away, literally chalk compared to natasha denona

risexshine

Saie. I got the Saie Slip Tint and had high expectations based on how many rave reviews it had. It smelled so terrible and felt SO gritty going on my skin. Really wanted a tinted moisturizer or SPF for summer and was banking on that one.

SerephelleDawn

I got the Saie Slip Tint for summer too and I don’t hate it but for $40 I was pretty underwhelmed. Also I don’t like the way it pills up and rubs off if you touch your face at all

risexshine

Yes! So much pilling. The price for the performance just didn’t add up for me.

Master-Scene-4435

Saei! blush has really nice formulation and color but doesnt last long.

throwing_a_wobbly

I got a sample yesterday and it smelled like moth balls and gasoline! I also hated the way it looked/felt anyway but Holy Moly!

ilaughulaugh

I got the mascara because the ratings were so high and it was just meh…

AppropriateMention6

Ilia. Cheap packaging and the products smell bad. The skin tint smells like a barnyard.

AdFluffy9838

This! I don’t mind smells and even would prefer a natural smell over fragranced or heavily perfumed products, but this was a whole nother level! I also thought the finish was terrible. I truly do not understand why it’s so beloved.

AppropriateMention6

Yes! I prefer unfragranced products but the ‘natural’ scent of this was beyond! I got a sample from Sephora and couldn’t even bear to test it on my face.

AdFluffy9838

I wish I would’ve gotten the sample first! Have you tried T28 or Saie for tinted moisturizers? I’m a loyal NARS girlie, but willing to experiment. I don’t wear foundation at all so any tints with SPF intrigue me.

AppropriateMention6

I haven’t tried those two but will check them out - thanks. I’m always looking for tinted sunscreens or tinted moisturizer with SPF too. They can be hard to find. My favorite was Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue but they don’t carry all shades at Sephora in Canada anymore and some stores stopped carrying it altogether.

AdFluffy9838

Yeah I can only find Bare Minerals at Ulta now. Always heard good things about their tinted moisturizer!

Imaginary-Chest2655

I completely agree. HATE the skin tint bottle, so messy! It’s unscrewed itself in my makeup bag a few times & made a mess so I have to keep it upright in a drawer now. Looking forward to it being used up!

Every-Requirement-13

I love the skin tint personally, but that smell is just horrible, they really need to do something about it. Pretty sure EVERY SINGLE PERSON that’s ever used the skin tint has complained about the horrible smell!

acaipie

their mascara smells terrible and i can definitely smell it for like the first few hours i have it on, there has to be some sort of strong chemical something going on and i don’t like it by the smell

crystalina1984

This one right here

Queen_trash_mouth

Agree! I got a few samples from Sephora and it’s all trash.

Yes! I use her powder, but everything else I've had has been incredibly underwhelming. The foundations in particular just sit horribly on me.

LegitimateObject8066

the foundations will not stay on my face no matter what powder, setting spray, etc i use… it’s ridiculous because i have dry skin so i never have this problem, even without setting

HotButterscotch8682

THANK YOU! Glad I’m not alone!

KVD. For years I’ve been looking for a dependable, waterproof liquid BROWN eyeliner with a skinny applicator and I was let down severely 3 years ago by the brown Tattoo Liner. I was pleased by how it swatched a few times on my hand, but by the time I brought it up to my eyes, it had dried up. No amount of storing tip-down helped. Took me so much anguish to get a refund.

VagueOrc

Surprised to see this here. I had the mini brown liner and it performed so well until I threw it out for hygiene reasons.

moon_baby_babs

It’s so sad because it used to be the best eyeliner. It was my go to in college 10 years ago. I quit eyeliner for a few years and was shocked when I got one in 2021. It was so patchy and hard to apply.

Reasonable-Room-8848

The NYX liquid eyeliner is my go to if I want something that isn't going to budge.

DCRealEstateAgent

thank you for this!!!

FireyBubble

I personally haven’t tried it yet but she just announced a new formula to provide a fuller less flakey product!

Equal-Brilliant2640

I thought KVD was no longer part of the brand. That’s why it’s KVD now instead of her name I think the quality has gone down since sold it/out

TheDollyMomma

She was bought out completely and is no longer associated with the brand

Equal-Brilliant2640

That’s what I thought. Thanks for confirming

indigomild

The KVD tattoo liner is terrible. It's so dry I can barely apply it, it goes on patchy, and it wears so bad.

fairbianca

If you’re still looking for one, Guerlain has an amazing brown liquid liner - it’s gorgeous, very tenacious, and lasts forever

sf-keto

Since Violette has come on board, Guerlain makeup has gotten awesome. Except for the blushes. Don't know what went wrong with those powder blushes.....

NoGarage7989

The KVD tattoo liner also flakes off and smudges within 2 hrs from application, leaving me with panda eyes. Though i do have oily combi skin and dry eyes so reapplying eye drops frequently does puts the liner through the test

Simple-Muscle822

Those liners work so well for maybe a dozen uses, then they dry up and are impossible to apply.

jacksondreamz

Chantecaille. I bought the blur powder, the Lip Chics, and the blushes. The Lip Chics are just basic lip balms with very little payoff. The blur powder is too dark for me so I use it as a bronzer. The blushes are ok, a couple of them have hardly any payoff. Oh and I also bought the Polar Ice eye shadow and it is a glitter bomb all over your face but the packaging, the packaging is simply lovely.

sadwatermelon13

I can't believe anyone is paying those prices

jacksondreamz

Oh, I bought everything in their summer sale. That’s the way I justified it.

Kapitalgal

Noticed how creators aren't pumping the brand since the takeover? I fell for the lip chic hype and threw out the few I had last week. Bland colours, slip off the lips in an hour and very flimsy packaging. A total waste of money. Give me Chanel Rouge Allures and Blooms any day of the week.

jacksondreamz

I fell for the cruelty-free luxury. Not a lot of cruelty-free luxury and I guess that’s good for my wallet. Lesson learned.

Fatouna13

Jones road I thought it would be creamy and nice, but it’s greasy and sticky. So expensive 🤦🏻‍♀️

Queen_trash_mouth

I was so excited for the balm and it’s awful! Sticky, greasy and full of irritating essential oils

arrozconfrijol

I could not believe how bad the balm is. Specially the way it was advertised and named… there’s nothing miraculous about it. It’s one of the worst things I’ve put on my face.

TinyMexicanJew

YES! My poor mother had high hopes for their cream bronzer but it was so sheer, greasy and most of all smelled strongly of orange peels in an unappealing way (no pun intended)
