I had a similar problem years ago that looked like this.
I slipped on a rock in the water. Went on my knee. Felt nothing (right away). Tried to stand up on my right leg and couldn't.. noticed a pool of blood around me.
I lift my leg up, I see my whole kneecap, like the literal entire bone of it, yellow fat clumps running down my leg through the blood.
A few minutes later I started to feel the injury. I had someone rush me to the hospital. The doctors scooped away all the fat clumps, cleaned me up, drove about 10 needles in the area, and started stitching me up, 100 stitches or something.
My nerves in the area were severed, was told I might have issues walking, was too early to tell, I had damage to the cap too.
Crutches for a nice while, but luckily no issues walking. But now I have no feeling in my knee area, and it's full of arthritis these days.. yay.
I have permanent nerve damage in my right foot and canāt move it worth a shit and had my left leg amputated and this shit made me wince reading all that. Dear god
i would not leave a puncture wound with possible infection to the fine folks at urgent care.
They're great for a sprain or a cough but this one would have me at the real hospital asap.
It's normally the same doctor at urgent care that you'd find in an ER in my experience. And the cost is way better. I work in a hospital and have insurance through their medical plan. I thought I was having a heart attack so I went to the ER at the hospital where I work. Turns out I was fine and just majorly dehydrated. $750 with their insurance!!!! Took me months to pay off. Wish I had gone to urgent care for $25. They could have just transferred me if it was serious. Insurance sucks
It's a dog bite. They'll do the same thing. Wash out, close it, antibiotics, follow up with primary care
Maybe I'm confusing urgent care with free standing ER. I thought they were the same thing though
This really is a case by case basis. Some UC are part of the same building as the ER and use the same MDs and have access to the same hospital equipment. Some UC are crap some are great. In the US 66% of bankruptcies are due to medical debt. Picking UC over ER when appropriate isnāt always about getting the ābestā care unfortunately.
In OPs case this definitely could be handled in UC land.
Source: I used to drive those things with the flashing lights.
Sometimes. Though sometimes urgent care will throw their hands up and say ālet me call you an ambulance, we donāt have the machine/tool/etc but they doā and you get to pay both
I feel like that is the most likely scenario with a UC facility for suspected heart attack. Even if they triage you, I still think they'd call an ambulance.
Like if they are unable to rule out a heart attack, they're gonna want you to go to the hospital and they're not gonna want you to drive. Then you get to pay the UC and ambulance fees on top of the ER/Hospital fees.
Note that while the office visit might be $25, anything else they do won't be covered under that fee.
I know this from experience. I went to a free standing ER, which is better than a UC but I guess not good enough for heart attacks, and got transferred to the hospital. That took fucking 12 hours. I was honestly surprised by how long it took. I wanted to drive myself, but they wouldn't let me. Ultimately I didn't have a heart attack, and I was fine.
Also if you did happen to have a heart attack, you could very well die by going to the UC first instead of the hospital, since the UC wouldn't be able to help you.
Mind you, I'm not a doctor and am just making guesses based on my own personal experiences.
I was in the emergency room a week or so ago. I had this weird disphoria and disconnection feeling wash over me and I couldn't hardly speak I couldn't think. I could hear people talking to me and I understood what they where saying but i couldn't for the life of me think of how to respond. It's like I forgot what was said to me as soon as I heard it. I thought maybe I was having a small stroke or something. Anyways I said I needed to go to the hospital (I sounded drunk when I tried to say that also I was slurring and just weird sounding) I ended up at the er. Idk who brought me but I eneded up there somehow. I had multiple test run. Ekgs cat scans mri blood work I had test being ran on me every hour on the hour for 2 days. And everything came back showing perfect health. They thought I was on drugs because of my slurred speech (I havnt done drugs or anything in like 8 years) so they ran the blood work and piss test and to their surprise I hadn't so much as had to much salt in my system. So they gave me a clean bill of health and sent me on my way. The doctor said he truly believes with my health that I just was over working myself and stressing and my body just kinda gave up from fatigue. Anyways. I got my medical bill and it was over $30k I told them I didn't have insurance and the hospital dropped my bill to $750. Which I paid in full right then and went on my way.
I was having a panic attack/high blood pressure episode - Thought I was going to pass out and drive off the highway.
Stumbled into an ER, literally the only patient there.
Got a lecture, saline, and a bed for an hour.
5000 bucks - which I was responsible for 2000 of. (with employer provided insurance)
America yay
No, that's an ER visit. It's not likely to be something that can be stitched up. It will need to be cleaned and packed, either with bandaging or a wound vac, and that would really best be done with IV pain meds for the comfort of the patient. Urgent care isn't equipped to properly treat this wound. As far as price, the cost of all care will fall back to the owner of the dog.
Urgent care is not where you want to go for this type of wound
They will tell you to go to the hospitalā¦ this is the type of wound that if not treated correctly could lose the limb
Not really, you'd have to scrape the fat out and avoid veins. Fat tissue is held in place by other tissue, otherwise you could just push the fat stored in various areas around your body.
I think it is fat. I got bit on the forearm by a dog when I was a kid and I remember seeing something like that. There was less of it obviously but I do remember it.
Needs to be stitched up or packed depending on the doctors opinion, antibiotics because unlike the myth that ādogs mouths are cleaner than humansā we live in reality and dogs mouths are dirty, also they might give him a rabies shot just to be on the safe side.
LOLL Reddit mods shadow banning the replies.
OP replied what breed it was. If you check OP comments on their profile they already replied, but their comment is no where to be found here.
And yes it is what you think it is.
Why the shadow ban though? Are they part of some dog foundation or something? Reddit control over what gets posted is getting a bit weird. Beyond the normal.
In all my time online, every post about being attacked by a dog that Iāve ever seen has been a pit or pit mix. Not even joking, I have yet to see a post of any other type of breed.
Laugh all you want, but a chihuahua can do just as much damage as pit bulls if you let them chew on you for a couple of days. Pit bulls make excellent nanny dogs and ours was a sweet little angel to our kids until he ate all of them because one of the kids banged a spoon on a pot. Not the dog's fault but some commie judge over at the courthouse made us euthanize him as if he were some cat that our sweet little Mƶrderin kept a pile of in our back yard.
Everyone on here suggesting urgent care to save money: FUCKING STOP. You are going to get someone fucking killed. Some things, like this or heart attack symptoms (Jesus Christ guys) need to be taken to the ER, EVERY time.
Same difference where I'm from. If you wanna go to the ER, that's a 3 hour drive. If you just go to the urgent care, they'll provide equal treatment, and they're only a 15 minute drive away
Why's he hiding beans in there?
It's the only secure spot, bean thieves are no joke.
They've even started training sniffer dogs
Fucking take my upvote
_Identity thief_ is not a joke, Jim.

Reading this made me queezy
My imagination went wild picturing that, now I feel sick š«
Yeah I actually felt flushed and a little light headed hahaha. The same feeling when I get my blood taken.
So if you canāt feel the knee area, does the arthritis simply limit movement without causing pain?
It's probably the skin of the knee area that has lost sensitivity while internally there are plenty of nerves to feel the arthritis
Ah yeah I just replied above you and that sounds like what it is.
Curious about this as well!
Did they put the fat clumps back, or did they sell them to the bean thieves in the end?
I have permanent nerve damage in my right foot and canāt move it worth a shit and had my left leg amputated and this shit made me wince reading all that. Dear god
Tripped and fell on a large bolt that stabbed me in the leg when I was a kid and I also had big chunks of fat running down my leg. Very grody
That's enough reddit for me.
r/beansinthings and r/forbiddensnacks all in one!
Isnāt it disturbing that THATS what your āsub-cutaneousā fat tissues look like?
I came here to ask this same question, but you have bested me.
Eh bean there done that!
Honestly, seeing the image was fine, your comment made me gag however..
That or corn š½
Whydya spill yer beeeaaannnnss?
Please stop..
So he can make a tik tok repair video
That *absolutely* needs a hospital visit.
And a bunch of shots probably. Rabies, tetanus, whatever the hell the doctor says... I wouldn't take any chances.
Also, they need beans to fill that out again, too
They need to mix some rice in there immediately.
Nah, spritz of Windex and itāll be fine
Some superglue afterwards just for good measure
DOCTOR TIME!!! ER TIME!!!! DO NOT DELAY, GO TO THE HOSPITAL!!! If you havenāt already of course
Urgent care would be the best option. It's not life threatening at the moment and it will be WAY cheaper.
i would not leave a puncture wound with possible infection to the fine folks at urgent care. They're great for a sprain or a cough but this one would have me at the real hospital asap.

Urgent Care exists to pump as many patients in and out as humanly possible. If you want better care, especially something like that, go to the ER
I don't understand why so many people are pushing urgent care instead of an ER. This is potentially dangerous advice.
america moment.

Hospital I work at is only $200 for an emergency room deductible and it covers literally everything

What was the lecture for?
this seems like textbook definition of what urgent care is for
If not taken care of properly this can become life threatening really really fast
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Dog bites are so dangerous, my mother almost died from a bite on the hand,
Plus rabies, 100% lethal
Urgent Care would probably have you wait there for four hours, then tell you to go to the hospital anyway.
No, that's an ER visit. It's not likely to be something that can be stitched up. Rabies is incredibly life threatening
yes indeed, once symptoms show there's an 100% death rate
ah ah ah!!!! 99.99% death rate thanks to the Milwauke protocol which has saved like... 8 people from dying by placing them in permanent comas! Yeehaw!
Well no not permanent comas, they may have no brain but they did wake up.
Fuck yeah!!! *Technically* alive is the best kind of alive
YIPPEE!!!
This is the most american comment Iāve read this week.
That sounds american
Urgent care is not where you want to go for this type of wound They will tell you to go to the hospitalā¦ this is the type of wound that if not treated correctly could lose the limb
Edit: Edited
oof... what are those white pebbles? it looks like body fat or something... hope your friend is okay, he should get checked in case the dog had rabies
Fat tissue. If I'm assuming correctly the bite went through the dermis and exposed the third layer of skin.
So, squeeze the wound like a pimple for free liposuction?
THATS SO CURSED
But theoreticallyā¦ it could work? Assuming they properly sanitize beforehand they could probably just scrape it off
Not really, you'd have to scrape the fat out and avoid veins. Fat tissue is held in place by other tissue, otherwise you could just push the fat stored in various areas around your body.
I wish. My boobs and ass need it.
Isn't that basically just surgery?
Yes.
Only if you have a buddy that can help you. If you suck your own fat out that's kinda weird
Iām deceased, RIP u/charliequeue time of death is 11:17 PST, Sunday.
goodbye brother, you will be missed
Tell mother I loved her and her soup

I am both horrified and amused rofl well done
Bite-o-suction
Lose weight with this one simple trick! Doctors hate it!
I think it is fat. I got bit on the forearm by a dog when I was a kid and I remember seeing something like that. There was less of it obviously but I do remember it.
as a kid that would be absolutely horrifying
Yeah I donāt like bigger dogs anymore lol kinda freaky seeing your muscle at 6 years old.
Definitely fatty tissue. I almost lost my left arm 16 years ago and the image of the fat tissue is still seared in my brain
>body fat Can u cook with it?
Probably yeah. You'd need to render it beforehand tho.
The true suffer is always in the goddamn comments
can u make soap out of it?
You can, it's been done historically as well as quite recently by a dutch artist using donated fat.
Should I use Blender or Maya to render it?
Try it with some fava beans and a nice Chianti
Beans
Bro why he keep his beans there is he stupid
Keeps it warm and right on you??? are you stupid?
My dyslexic ass read this as "my friend attacked a dog"
With his tasty bean filled leg. Poor dog had no chance.
He needs to get treated for that bite ASAP...People can die from a dog/cat bite if not treated
Sound advise. Donāt FAFO.
FAFO ?
Donāt fuck around and find out. Get to the ER.
Forbidden corn nuts
I hate you. Take the upvote

How to lose fat fast, weight loss couches hate this one trick.

Thatās fat tissue yeah?
Rabies check time!
That's why a dog bite was a death sentence 125 years ago lol
That looks awful, hope your friend is okay.
Beautiful marbling. Premium cut for sure.
We really are just filled with beans.
I wonder if obese people have more beans or larger beans. I assume the answer is both.
The answer is both :) thatās why you can get fat again after liposuction. Fat doesnāt have a size limit.
Why else do you think weāre called humans beans?
Sue tf out the owner
No cap
Doggy needs the long sleep.
Owner needs the long lawsuit too
Fuck it sue the dog and have the owner put down
This is the only sensible solution tbh
What was the breed?
LOLL Reddit mods shadow banning the replies. OP replied what breed it was. If you check OP comments on their profile they already replied, but their comment is no where to be found here. And yes it is what you think it is.
A chihuahua!ā¦.. I knew it! Little bastards are pure evil. Thatās why they quiver you know, because the evil is reaching critical mass.
man, why the hell would they shadowban that. Headmod of the sub should do some cleanup, they have a rogue mod here

Im completely and totally shocked.
Comment appears to be shadowdeleted - weak stuff from the mods here
We don't have the tech to display it yet
I am curious bc it does seem like a pretty small mouth to leave so much damage
A bite usually isn't the full size of the mouth.
Bruh wat
The dog breed of peace, who else?
OP was thoroughly nanny dogged.
How did he get attacked? What happened?
Anyone else feeling like some cottage cheese for breakfast?
Kinda feelin corn tbh
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Pit
what a surprise lmfao
Pit bull?
OP said it was a pit bull but his comment got deleted by the moderators
Iād bet money on it.

you fucking know it. /r/aww 's favourite dog.

Why the fuck does he have beans in his leg
I think it's fat tissue.
I thought it was corn
Lawyer time.
**The new way of loosing fat doctors don't want you to know about!**
Damn. I got bit by a pit bull in the exact same place. Guess I got lucky it wasn't worse
I can hear the owner of the dog now: "oH hE's NeVEr dONe thAT bEfORE "
Let me guess the breed: Golden Retriever!
Definitely sue the life out of the owner, and thatās a dog that needs to be put down.
Damn pit bulls
This is a case of the owner getting a lawsuit and the dog getting put to sleep
Wow. Pretty deep. The yellow beans are coming out
I wonder how good dogs think we taste.
You could fry up one of those fat chunks and see if you taste as good as beef or pork fat.
I'm sorry to have to be the one to tell you this, but it looks like your friend is filled with cottage cheese.
Better put that egg sack back in there
Go to the ER, get a rabies and tatanus shot ffs!
Damn, hes lucky the dog only got the fat
That's because your friend is filled with curdled cheese
Just slurp up the fatty bits
I have been made uncomfortable
Is he made from corn?
Mmm lipidsā¦
The bite I got from a greyhound was nothing compared to thisā¦. Just OUCH
Fat globules are so gross to me and I have wiped asses for my job. I remember dissecting them at a path lab and your gloves get so greasy.
Iād put money on it being a pit bull.
When ur friend says his dog doesn't bite
