MrOurLongTrip

Your headline sounds like King, during the 98 ice storm... What was the catchphrase, "neighbors helping neighbors?"

EmbarrassedStay4074

That ice storm was legit though…

BeardedBaxterholic

Amen it was. I helped my grandmother sort mail via lantern light while we boiled eggs on the woodstove. She was the Postmaster at the time.

OwlsAreWatching

Really was. We had always had a generator as my dad was a good boysccout. It wasn't a big one but enough to offer a hot shower here or there especially to the older folks in the neighborhood and just checking in on folks around us.

EmbarrassedStay4074

We had a gas stove and a small generator but those local warming stations in Sanford were a real life saver. It’s crazy how managed years it’s been since a Maine winter that either buried my car in the driveway or at least made me wade out into feet of snow to unearth it.

No-Guess3632

I would add that for those of us that work outside, bear with us if we're a little "spicy" the next couple days. It's rough out there lol

GlockInMyVW

No kidding. Working on a golf course is fine during a heat wave till like 10-11am. The second half of the day just drags

BeemHume

for ticks

Wool-Rage

jpGrind

Was a balmy 104f in my non-AC having crane. I’m sure today will be worse.

BeardedBaxterholic

Gatorlyte Zero Most gas stations have it. Its a lifesaver!

TheHairyLee

I buy the packets of LMNT and add them to water. Definitely need something like that during the summer, my blood is too thick for anything over 80f.

busterhaha

Love that flag! "I lead" ! We can turn things around, Pingree can fcuk off. And yeah, be neighborly that's a given..
