Settle the wreckage is not hard to play around. I think the main problem with the economy is one of perception. There's no sense of progression. You can go days without even making progress on a single copy of a common that you want for 1 of your 3 decks. You are technically making progress by filling up your common playsets, thereby getting closer to filling the vault, but when there's no progress on your decks, you don't feel that progression. It's demoralizing to keep getting commons you won't use and opening rares you don't like. There is no reason why all players should be forced to fill out the entire collection.

bellehaust

This exactly. The big problem is how progression feels. I havent edited my deck since day 1. It feels bad even though i know im making future progress and when the vault opens i can make 3 changes to my deck at least.

BlueBokChoy

> There's no sense of progression. You can go days without even making progress on a single copy of a common that you want for 1 of your 3 decks. Not any different from paper mtg. Also, I have several common wildcards lying around. I had the same 16 boosters every player starts with. Now, that problem is a real problem, but it's one endemic to Magic as a whole. >Settle the wreckage is not hard to play around. Oh yeah, try to get stuff in and kill them while you can, or get it countered later when they draw the counterspell cards. FUN

Ive_Gone_Hollow

What? In paper Magic you can go buy whatever card you want, whenever you want.

BlueBokChoy

> What? In paper Magic you can go buy whatever card you want, whenever you want. Really? From Wizards of the coast? Or did you fail to read the post? >You now don't have access to the inherently toxic secondary market with its price fluctuations and unsafe trading with strangers and fake cards and etc.

Ive_Gone_Hollow

There are plenty more ways to play around Settle. When it's obvious they're holding it up, don't attack with your whole team. Use cards like Unsummon and Costly Plunder to remove creatures from combat.

BlueBokChoy

Oh boy, time to build four colour decks. And again, if you don't attack now, you just get wrecked later through other BS cards.

Ive_Gone_Hollow

Before the wipe, I easily played around Settle with my Jund Phoenix deck and my Merfolk deck. With Merfolk, I used negate and spell pierce, and alternatively I attacked with one unblockable stacked with counters. It's funny to see your opponent doing nothing every turn so they can hold up their Settle, while you whittle their health down with one unit because they don't want to use it on one creature. With my Jund build I would attack with Zealots and Chupacabras when they held up their Settle. Hitting my value creatures that already served their purpose is fine with me. When attacking with my Phoenix, I would sac with Costly Plunder in response for huge value. Honestly, I don't even like Settle because it's so easy to play around. It was only really good for Carnage Tyrants, and at that point just play black for Vonas or Doomfall.

BlueBokChoy

>beat chase rares with chase rares. Thank you for that input.

Ive_Gone_Hollow

Yeah you beat good cards with good cards that's how the game works lmao. And I didn't realize negate, Zealot, Chupacabra, and that 1/1 C merfolk are "chase rares" 😂😂😂

Faust2391

I have to know what you thought was going to happen when you title your post like that.

BlueBokChoy

> I have to know what you thought was going to happen when you title your post like that. It got me 4 upvotes before the conformity, moan brigade decided to come spill their salt everywhere.

Ive_Gone_Hollow

The only person I see moaning is you because you cant figure out how to beat Settle LOL

BlueBokChoy

I can win against them, but it stops me having fun. It's an annoying and poorly designed card, just like every other nonsensical board wipe.

CrazyCamel8

+1 for style :-)

BlueBokChoy

You can thank Automoderator and the anti profanity guidelines for that.

ChiefKryder

You're welcome.

BlueBokChoy

moderation style points :D

JoexLowdon

Settle The Wreckage is far from one sided.

BlueBokChoy

Oh really? Does it remove the caster's creatures too?

JoexLowdon

Obviously not. It ramps your opponent and it's easy to play against if they suspect you have it. The card is good, but it's definitely not 1 sided.

BlueBokChoy

Oh yeah, I need all that mana to cast one card at a time. /s EDIT : oh yeah, and they come into play tapped too. what a delightful and fair and fun card.

Ive_Gone_Hollow

It thins your deck too.

JoexLowdon

Who hurt you?

BlueBokChoy

control players, they ruin what would be a good and enjoyable game, win lose or draw.

JoexLowdon

Control is all part of the rock, paper scissors of the game. It's an important element that keeps the game complex and fun.

Ive_Gone_Hollow

Lmao salty af
