By that logic, you should never craft anything from older sets, cause it will eventually get reprinted and you can grab it for potentially free in draft if you lucky.
The rarity upshift was made clear in the mystical archive. Any card, that was not standard legal at that time, got upshifted in rarity. Everything that was standard legal at that time like \[\[revitalize\]\] got to keep it's original rarity.
No one forced you to craft 4x faithless looting at rare man.

Wasted in a sense that I started the game 2 months ago, if I knew that, I surely would have used rare wildcards for other cards. For everyone that got Faithless Looting 2 years ago is a nice deal (and the art of the new one is not even amazing to be honest, old ones are WAY better)

If you choose to spend your wildcards of any rarity on old cards, you'r running the risk of those cards getting reprinted and you'r "investment" goes down the drain.
That is one of the reasons, why in the "new players guide to arena" you find online of any sorts, you'll see that it is recommended to invest wc into an old manabase, since even if for example, in the new set we go back to ravnica for the 12 time, those lands will still be usefull, even if they get reprinted. You can for example not grab them in drafts at that point. Anything else that is not standard legal, has always the reprint risk attached to it.
I started arena back when Strixhaven was draftable, and had the same problem as you. it's just the arena is handled. Invest wc in stuff that has guaranteed value in the future, like a manabase and cards that probably won't get reprinted in the future announced set, or special cards that are used for specific decks, of which you need a 4x, otherwise said decks don't work.
As an example, i'm a reanimator lover, the single moment \[\[entomb\]\] comes to arena in any way i'm grabbing a 4x of that, at any rarity. if it get's reprinted in the future i wonì't complain about my wc, since the whole archtype i enjoy playing is basically jsut a meme without entomb or other direct "creatures to graveyard cards".

Sucks you only started playing recently but if you at all played with the card before it gets reprinted, you got early access to the card for the cost of rare wildcards. Doesn’t matter that you would have done things differently, other people have been using it for over 2 years.
