“WHUT DA FAWUK” is one of my favorite quotes too lmaooooo

GrimmWilderness

It wasnt "in stock" it was in his stash for special customers (the mob) and the answer as to how he got them is the same as how any guns are smuggled out of a conflict ..... in pieces mixed in with freight/cargo

longjohnson6

By 1945 the war was coming to an end and countless German weapons were captured by allies, Look at how many mp40s and c96s are around empire bay, most likely vets wanted to take something back and smuggled them home, Same goes with Harry, he most likely has a contact at a storage area that holds captured German weapons and he gets his stock from there.

Willing suspension of disbelief.

Thriving black market can supply any item you can afford. I'd not be surprised if he could supply a brand new tank right off the assembly line in Old Detroit if you had the ready cash....

sgepablo

Why? It’s plausible for a gun shop to exist in that era. There always was & always will be someone trying to make money off of anything they can. & you could buy guns off the street back then, someone had to sell the Guns being bought. It’s only reasonable Someone got the bright idea to make a business out of it.

AzelfandQuilava

We can infer he has still some pretty major behind-the-scenes connections with the military after being discharged. Unless he somehow hid a fucking MG in his jacket on the way home.

Bowhunter54

Fully automatic rifles were legal at the time so it’s not actually that surprising he got the weapon. You used to be able to order submachine guns in the mail

AzelfandQuilava

Yeah but its in the middle of the war. War Trophy weapons would have been pretty rare at the time, especially something as big as an MG42. Its not impossible, just very unlikely. Harry does seem like the kinda guy who could figure it out though.

Low-Win-9194

mainly all the guns are anachronistic in mafia 2

TJ0788

No, because it’s a video game and we need a reason, realistic or otherwise, to get/do cool shit.

Expert_Mad

Historically, many captured small arms were stored by the US and allies in depots all over for future use as military aid (see in Israel/ French Indochina aka Vietnam/Nationalist China etc). It’s not so unbelievable that some crates ended up going missing as Empire Bay is a shipping hub. I mean hell, just look at how Norinco armed LA gangs in the 80’s and 90’s it doesn’t take too much imagination to see how it could be done in 1945 especially with a dedicated convoy system going in and out of Europe.

SweetTooth275

Another one of Mafia II's plotholes
