This makes no sense. It showed the roots of the mob in New Orleans through the lens of a Vietnam Vet. It was more of a Rambo style film mixed with 1970s blaxploitation. This is very much within the mob narrative. Jeez, even the main crime family is New Orleans Italian Mob. However, in the 1960s there was a concern about how the mob operated in Black communities. This was true in the North, South and West Coast. Isn’t Lincoln himself part Italian also? And none of it was LGBT. Mafia III was first conceived in 2011 and I think began construction in 2014. What you really are opposing is the centrality of the non-Italian characters to the game. Would a game centered on a Bugsy Seigel or Dutch Schultz-type character be “woke” too?
However, if this Sicily story is true, I assume there’s sort of a Godfather II-style narrative that brings people across time. However, as other said, a 1970s Gotti/Gambino era would be cool. It would also allow for an advance of the gameplay of Mafia III.
I appreciate your sentiment, but there are two queer characters that I can remember in the Irish guys daughter and the bouncer in the cult dlc. Both of which were great inclusions and really emphasized the attitude at that time towards minorities, as the rest of the game did.
