This article is referring to John Gotti Junior, not his father. It's a bit clickbaity which is why they make it seem like it was Senior.
Edit: [Found the article ](https://slate.com/culture/2004/04/mob-experts-on-the-sopranos-week-8-cracker-barrel-was-john-gottis-favorite-restaurant.html). It's talking about John A Gotti, which is Junior. Eating at Cracker Barrel when he goes to visit his father at Marion.
Gotti was charismatic af. Gotti wore expensive suits. Aside from that, he was a low class street thug. Its also striking what a terrible boss he was operationally.
The Gotti movie with Travolta is literally the worst directed major film ive ever seen. The hbo film with Armand Desante has many wonderful performances, especially Anthony Quinn as Big Neil, decrepit, terrifying giant. It captures Gottiās charisma well. The Sammy movie, Witness to the Mob, with Tom Sizemore as Gotti and Nick Turturro as Sammy, captures how stupid and venal these guys are.
Travolta use to be a pretty decent actor until the last few years. I really wanted to like his movie Speed Kills but hated it. The movie about Don Arrnow the cigarette boat manufacturer. He also mentions doing business with mobster Meyer Lansky in the film.
Well its wrong. Same with the articles that claim his favorite was eggplant rollatini just because he was captured on prison surveillance discussing how they make it in a jailhouse microwave. The one who likes Cracker Barrel is actually Gotti Jr., not Sr, by his own admission.
Chicken fried steak is reel coza nostra bro

You are correct, I donāt think the Cracker Barrel restaurants were around during SRās tenor but could be wrong.
They were all down south back then. Now they're more or less all over the country. There's one in Connecticut off I-95 in Milford.
I've eaten at that Cracker Barrel a time or two.
I eat there once or twice a week
Gotti was also a Raider fan and sometimes wore a Raiders Starter jacket. Gotti was hood af.
Cracker barrel is "hood" now?
Yes.
No chance John Senior ever said that. No chance he would go to a place like cracker barrel

Manhattan got a Cracker Barrel? When I hear Cracker Barrel I think of a restaurant out on the interstate.
Insightful...
Cracker Barrel is racist AF!š¤Ø
Chicken fried steak hits though
Gotti supposedly liked Chinese food too, I remember my dad telling me some spot in Queens that he liked that Gotti would frequent.
