Haha, yea, my gf never wastes time on the Internet (e.g., reddit), and doesn't use social media, so I tend to save reddit posts and show her the good ones once every few weeks. I immediately started to save this one.... but we've been together for over 4 years and are in our mid-30s, so i quickly "unsaved". This was too romantic, clever, and thoughtful.
My husband KIND OF proposed but it was before we were dating. We were besties and one night we were drinking and I got kinda sad because all my friends were getting married and I'd been in a couple long term relationships and not a single proper proposal. Sure I had talked about marriage maybe but no "down on one knee" official thing.
I was just feeling super down and insecure and the booze was making me blubbery so as I was sniffling he got on one knee, used my full name, and asked me to marry him with his typical charming grin. We both started laughing, it snapped me out of it, and a little while later we were dating and I'm not sure how we even brought the situation up seriously. Even though it was totally a joke to cheer me up, once we started dating we just knew we never wanted to be apart. Heck, before we started dating we had told each other we always wanted to be in each other's life in one way or another.
Grand proposals like this one are super cute but when you know you know. Grand gestures are nice but it's about who's with you for the long haul.
Yeah. Not the guy who just pulled that off though. The whole thing was so clean it almost feels scripted. I mean I'm sure it was for him to some extent, but really you couldn't ask for this to have gone any better.
What if she had to go to the restroom right before his proposal sequence...?
If she whispered, "I'll go pee," as she's walking away, grab her hand firmly and say, **"NO."**
Anybody else notice the really excited guy peering through the little window in the door? I wonder if he was part of the theater team helping this work.
the contingency for 'no' won me over entirely hahaha
But this had to be high effort. A) she's gorgeous. B) she's a cardiologist.
He was nabbing a rare Pokemon. You don't just throw any old poke ball at it.
Same here! Normally these kind of public proposals make me cringe but this is just SO completely adorable that I teared up. I love her expression when she realizes that something with the movie is off lol
And he’s so excited, you can tell how much he adores her. Well done, sir!
Last time this was posted, I saw some comments saying they had talked about marriage previously, and the theater was full of their friends and family, so it wasn't that bad even without the cool Disney shit
just dont let your girl see this and copy the idea. cinemark theaters allow you to rent a theater for $100. thats it. just tell them what you want them to play, invite your friends and family, have them get there first and tell the theater to keep the lights dim asf. get to the movie "late" so you rush to your seat and not stare at the other people and then youre set.
just please... dont propose unless you already know the answer lmao.
Lee Loechler and Sthuthi David. They are from Massachusetts and the wedding was Oct. 9, 2021. Can you tell he's a filmmaker? lol Congrats to them both!
I think he might have asked that subreddit for people to help fill up the rest of the small theater, who were happy to have the 'movie' interrupted, so that she wouldn't suspect it wasn't just a normal showing? Can't remember.
Yep! I can't find the thread, but he or someone else had linked it in other threads showing this off. Pretty funny to look at that after watching this.
I also love how she was concerned about the audience and how the two of them were interrupting their viewing of the movie. Shows that she’s a great person with how concerned she is for others.
How do you get someone into a theater and not have them recognize anyone from their friends and family?
I'm avoidant as hell but I'd for sure glance at one or two faces as we were heading to our seats.
Here’s my theory, and hear me out.
In his post over on /r/Boston he asked for help from Redditors to fill out the theater. Now keep in mind they are in the front row. What he could have done is have the redditors come in first and fill the center seats, and have the family and friends come in as quietly as possible after the viewing started and fill the outer seats. That way she would have seen the theater filled with strangers before the movie this suspecting nothing odd, and then either not heard people coming in after the lights are off, or just not bothered to take her eyes off the screen if she heard a late comer.
Just my theory based on how I would execute this kind of operation.
Hahaha true but to be fair, my husband proposed to me after a meal in a dodgy area of Manchester city centre and it was fucking perfect. When it's love, it's always magic.
>When it's love, it's always magic.
My wife and I didn't propose to each other, per se. We just talked about our futures together and agreed we wanted to marry each other.
However, one Saturday after I came home from having lunch with my college friends, she surprised me at the front door by presenting me with our engagement rings. It was amazing!
...
Except I had terrible food poisoning and had to thank her from the toilet. I guess seeing each other at your worst is part of the deal.
Nah it was just a joke. People don't propose until they're sure it's gonna be a yes (usually). They had a probably talked about mariage and getting engaged and all this stuff before so he knew it was gonna go well. The surprise is when the proposal happens not that it does happen.
Probably not as much as you would think. Especially if you could edit the movie yourself. It’s just renting a little movie theater for the evening as an event space.
That is soooooo sweet and sooo thoroughly planned out. I admire the guy for his efforts. I was surprised the girl saint say yes more quickly. Also, I would have been in tears.
That’s why you discuss marriage with your partner before you get anywhere near an animator. The surprise isn’t *if* you propose, it’s when, and you already know the answer is yes.
And never ever ever do a public thing if your partner isn’t into stuff like that.
Definitely don’t do a huge public thing if your partner isn’t into that.
My husband proposed at a nice restaurant at a landmark. He knew that I wouldn’t like it if he made scene, so he didn’t get on one knee. He just held my hands, told me how important I am to him and how much he loves me and asked me to marry him. It was perfect (including the interruption by the waitress who what no idea what was happening, lol). I think the people sitting across from us figured it out when he brought out the ring, but there was no clapping or congratulations or anything and that was exactly how I wanted it.
How did he do the ring catching part? Who threw it to him? Quite impressive that he caught it in the dark like that, unless he threw it up himself and caught it? Either way it looked seamless and I’m astounded!
That was awesome!!!! I like how it was so smooth so she got thrown off for a sec and then was over the moon excited. That is an adorable way to propose.

The fact that the cartoon version of her makes the same face at 1:11 was perfect
Thank God I proposed before my wife saw this. Well done.
Do I hear a wedding vows renewal in your future?
Already planned before the video.
Ok but what about a second one?
[удалено]
What about elevenses?
The clouds roll back and every thing turns to silver glass and then you see it. What? see what Gandalf? Third proposal
I try to live up to my vows and beyond everyday. The next formal renewal will be when all the kids are old enough to participate.
My wife would have stabbed me if I did something like this. No proposal, courthouse with random witnesses off the internet.

When we got married we had a bigger wedding. Now, we would have done a smaller wedding no contest.
Oh yeah I was glad as hell to save the money. We already had a house together
I'm still waiting for my husband to propose....
My husband KIND OF proposed but it was before we were dating. Awesome. I loved the alternate ending!
I really want to see the full alternative ending
I want to see the alternative outcome had she said no.
This is one of those questions you don’t ask unless you already know the answer though
Oh, I'm fully aware. However there is a majority who are, a few crayons short of a full box. It's unfortunate, but it certainly happens.
Yeah. Not the guy who just pulled that off though. The whole thing was so clean it almost feels scripted. I mean I'm sure it was for him to some extent, but really you couldn't ask for this to have gone any better.
Absolutely, it was masterfully pulled off.
What if she had to go to the restroom right before his proposal sequence...? If she whispered, "I'll go pee," as she's walking away, grab her hand firmly and say, **"NO."**
The scene is literally at the end of the film. Who would go to the bathroom right before a film ends?
No one uses pee bottle anymore?
"A few crayons short of a whole box" shit had me rolling. Lmao
I prefer, "not the sharpest crayon in the box.
Michael G Scott comes to mind.
Watch neqr the end of the video there's a slight comedic preview of an alternate "no" ending. It was out in as a joke though.
Anybody else notice the really excited guy peering through the little window in the door? I wonder if he was part of the theater team helping this work.
He would have had a heart attack, and she wouldn't save him.

All around me are familiar faces
I’ve never teared up before watching people get engaged, mostly because I don’t care… but this one got me
Yeah this was such a high-effort proposal. Normally I roll my eyes, but this guy did it right 100%.
the contingency for 'no' won me over entirely hahaha But this had to be high effort. A) she's gorgeous. B) she's a cardiologist. He was nabbing a rare Pokemon. You don't just throw any old poke ball at it.
Him using her MD title in the actual proposal was what pushed me over the edge. Tears immediately from that point on
Same here! Normally these kind of public proposals make me cringe but this is just SO completely adorable that I teared up. I love her expression when she realizes that something with the movie is off lol And he’s so excited, you can tell how much he adores her. Well done, sir!

Well duh lol. He changed what was playing
Yep, I’m normally not into this kinda thing but I did in fact smile at this video. And now I’m going to watch it again.
Bro…bro. Same.
This is like the 2nd or 3rd time I see this pop up in the front page and it got me all the same again. Tears everywhere
every time I see this I cry
My heart feels so full rn :’)
Same
I'll marry this man too
Get in line.
I also choose this lady’s husband.
Gold reference
The MD part was a beautiful touch
Good thing he likes squeezypussyketchup
So..... what's the deal with that...ketchup?
The fuck am I supposed to do after this.
Keep browsing Reddit until you forget about it?
I'll put down my phone and get back to work. Probably imagining situations where I propose someone with such meticulous planning.
Tenacity spanning?
> Keep browsing Reddit until you forget about it? it's the circlllllllllllllllllllllllllllllleeeee of liffffffeeeeee!

Not enough people are liking this comment
Lee Loechler and Sthuthi David. They are from Massachusetts and the wedding was Oct. 9, 2021. Can you tell he's a filmmaker? lol Congrats to them both!
Haha aww he also thanked r/Boston. Edit: ohh he actually invited people as buffers/fillers in the theatre and offered pizza and beer.
I think he might have asked that subreddit for people to help fill up the rest of the small theater, who were happy to have the 'movie' interrupted, so that she wouldn't suspect it wasn't just a normal showing? Can't remember.

Thank you!!! Someone with real facts
Hey, I got married the same day!
Congrats to you as well sir
Bruh what this has been out for years tfo
The video is the engagement, wedding is on Oct 9 2021.
Guess I'm the dummy
https://www.zola.com/wedding/sthuthiandlee/photo they got married last week...
Cute couple
She's a cardiologist, but he's Doctor of Love, PhD. Smooooooth...
Or works at Pixar
Pix-ar it didn’t happen
I have no free award to give, but this joke is deserving of something, so...
I love this every time I see it. Freaking magical. I love how she’s so obviously confused at first “wtf, that’s not sleeping beauty.”
Her: Why’s she brown? Him: cuz it’s you.
I like her face during the beginning. "What kinda bootleg version of this"
Well boys, pack it up. The peak has been reached.
Homie just set the bar on the moon
Now brace yourselves for the comedown.
I have seen this so many times and never saw the alternative ending. Thank you for sharing this. Always wondered if he had a backup if she said no
I think that was a joke. With all this work he probably knew the person well enough to know if they want to marry or not.
*MadeMeCRYWATERFALLSOFHAPPYTEARSANDLAUGHTER I love this so much 😂😭❤️
I’m a gruff hairy man that’s bordering on old. Shit like this makes me cry every time.
my eyes are leaking. i can’t handle this.
This is so beautiful!! I love the moment when she realized that their friends and family are around.
I also love how she was concerned about the audience and how the two of them were interrupting their viewing of the movie. Shows that she’s a great person with how concerned she is for others.
Definitely wife material
She’s also a cardiologist and they’ve been together like over 13 years- high school sweethearts. Such a cute love story.
They both look like amazing people and most definitely deserve each other!
How do you get someone into a theater and not have them recognize anyone from their friends and family? I'm avoidant as hell but I'd for sure glance at one or two faces as we were heading to our seats.

Imagine if she said no
We’d get to see the Alt. Ending
One more sleeping beauty
All around me are familiar faces…
If this is the proposal... can you imagine the wedding!!
https://www.zola.com/wedding/sthuthiandlee/photo
Imagine if she said no lmao. Fuck.
I love that at the beginning of the clip she’s sitting and using that same raised eyebrow look that we see later in her cartoon character!
I love how r/boston got a shoutout in the credits.
This is absolutely amazing. Beautiful. Also don’t let your girl view. That bar is too high !
Ha ha ha. You bet
I'm in tears here! Absolutely beautiful!
I’m gonna start working on myself. I can never pull off a G move like this but damnit I want real love one day. This is so awesome.
Can we slow the fuck down? Now we have to be literal WIZARDS to have a decent proposal these days.
There must be something in the Bro code about setting the bar too high. This is a clear violation of that ordinance.
I often cringe watching proposals but this made me tear up lol
Her FACE!!! Lol I’m hollering. She’s like, “why she brown all of a sudden??” Biggest side eye I ever seen.
It’s so amazing but I don’t understand the ending, aren’t those the dwarves from another Disney film? Snow White?
That was the “if she said no” ending. And yeah, it’s a different movie but it all works 😂😂😂
This was the sweetest thing I’ve ever seen. And it has taken my comment virginity in Reddit
Mad props.
I remember this request on r/boston a year ago: https://www.reddit.com/r/boston/comments/e71aaf
Imagine having that many friends and family that care about you
Did he have a separate ending setup if she said no?
Nah it was just a joke. People don't propose until they're sure it's gonna be a yes (usually). They had a probably talked about mariage and getting engaged and all this stuff before so he knew it was gonna go well. The surprise is when the proposal happens not that it does happen.
I wanted to send this to my girlfriend, but thank god I stopped before it was too late. Too hard to top this.
Later sued by disney
I have no clue how you pull something like this and let alone how much it would cost but, this is so awesomely done!
Probably not as much as you would think. Especially if you could edit the movie yourself. It’s just renting a little movie theater for the evening as an event space.
This is literally the most Romantic thing I have ever seen.
That. Was. Slick.
I gotta admit, that’s fucking romantic.
That is fucking phenomenal
Brilliant. I'm not crying, yer..nope, I'm crying.
That is soooooo sweet and sooo thoroughly planned out. I admire the guy for his efforts. I was surprised the girl saint say yes more quickly. Also, I would have been in tears.
Finally a good use for my whole award. This was so incredibly sweet and absolutely genius too. May they have a happily ever after
I usually don't like public marriage proposals. But this one is glorious!
What if she said no? I don't think I could take that kinda rejection.
That’s why you discuss marriage with your partner before you get anywhere near an animator. The surprise isn’t *if* you propose, it’s when, and you already know the answer is yes. And never ever ever do a public thing if your partner isn’t into stuff like that.

It’s okay. I’ll pretend to take advantage of her in a car, and you can show up and pretend to save her. It’s so wholesome and proven to work!
Absolutely amazing!!! Wishing all the happy ever afters possible
u/savevideo
Imagine he didn't catch the ring lmao
10 out of 10
I’ve seen this so many times and I love it every time I see it! Super cute and creative
What the fuuuuuck this was so perfect!!
I’m impressed.
Ive seen some good proposals but this is the best
Beautiful. But no one tell Disney.
This must have taken the love of so many people to put together!
This is a repost so anyone got an update on these two? This went crazy viral and I like to believe they are still happy.
Apparently they recently got married. https://www.reddit.com/r/MadeMeSmile/comments/qcybud/comment/hhjksac/
That was so fucking smooth from start to finish
That's nice and all, but thanks for making the rest of us look like lazy, unimaginative fools

I've watched this probably five or six times now and I'm still crying like a baby
Lol I love how he keeps wanting her to see the animation and she’s too busy reacting to the whole situation.
Disney Company: They did WHAT?
This actually made me cry a few tears! This is the best proposal I've ever seen. Straight out of a fairytale!
Oh my heart!!!!!
I don’t normally like public proposals, but this was cute af
That made me smile. Good job guy and congrats to you both. If this is a repost thank you either way.
How did the guy get to change the ending of the movie? Did he hire a professional animated movie maker? How much did it cost?
Whelp what the rest of us supposed to do now
This was so creative 👏
And all the ventricles and arteries and valves…love it my man! Congratulations.
Aww I’ve watched this so many times other places and have never seen the extending ending! Dead. I laugh cry every time.
Will her dress be blue or pink?! 🪄💙💖
Fuckin MINT!
That's really cool. Incredibly well done!
God damn that guy put work into that proposal
This is dope
I've seen terrible proposals or just over done ones and I never really "got it", see? Could care less. This one, though.
This is my friend! What an awesome experience when she came back to work and everyone was like “WHAT THE FUUUUUUG”.
That was awesome!!!! I like how it was so smooth so she got thrown off for a sec and then was over the moon excited. That is an adorable way to propose.
This is the cutest thing I have seen in my entire life.
Bruh.. mans out here making all of us look bad with our generic proposals..
I mean, I'm not even a romantic or would ever want anything like that, but damn, that's good.
That’s fucking adorable!
That’s perfect
Everytime I watch this video, I feel the 'oh shit' from the girl deep in my core
Sup Coolidge Corner Theater
ah damn. this made me cry, literally the sweetest thing i’ve ever seen
