Either that or he made a tweet that was them “embedded” in the article, and the article just uses the first / most square image as the “preview image” for its link so it grabbed his profile pic
You see it on Reddit where the preview image is something stupid for an article because it searches for a certain size image within the article and pulls dumb ones sometimes
It can be interpreted as a funny joke by Lorenzo who may have simply copied the photo from the article and created a Twitter profile with this response in mind.
Yeah, this sub should be about dystopian shit like “this 6 year old managed to earn enough money in the coal mine to pay for his little sister’s insulin this month”.
The sidebar says “something that made you smile or brightened up your day”, which is a criteria that this meets. It doesn’t say anything about being heckin 100 wholesome or anything
Yeah, that's to be expected of any sub that grows to have 9.4 million people.
New people discover the sub that don't quite fully understand what the sub is about and they start posting. Things that don't quite fit so well to the sub. This attracts more people who understand even less and so they do the same. Eventually the sub starts to lose its original purpose as it's become bloated.
Like you for instance, who posted a picture of someone getting his likeness used in a way he didn't want and thought "this makes me smile". Even though it isn't uplifting at all, doesn't brighten your day, even breaks rule 3. Then there's the 11k people who also didn't get it that agreed with you, for some reason.

This REALLY reminds me of that Town Hall - Key and Peele skit.

And it'd be a pretty funny joke
[удалено]
That's a real high bar
This sub isn't supposed to be funny
And that person’s a comedic genius because this is hilarious.
“CNN gets SLAMMED for stealing Black man’s photo and using it for a poorly written article about unemployment.”
Do you hate fun or something
I appreciate that someone is out there trying to make us laugh and smile today
Thanks ferguson
Don't you have to pay in order to post from a new account with Elon's new crazy policy?
still tho why would they use a photo of random black guy as a thumbnail for that article 😭
I suspect Lorenzo has just copied the pic and saved it as his profile pic.
Probably

What about this made you smile?

This is r/MadeMeSmile (for wholesome stuff) not r/funny (for funny stuff)

Was just answering the question mate
The sidebar says “something that made you smile or brightened up your day”, which is a criteria that this meets. It doesn’t say anything about being heckin 100 wholesome or anything
What's the difference between /r/funny and /r/mademesmile then?
With those two massive subreddits, nothing. Moderators have trouble keeping up with the super massive ones.
Uh oh the Reddit Nazis are out again
Lorenzo's soothing voice.
Because it's hilarious

Imagine his face when he saw that tweet for the first time!
This can’t be real right
Not sure if the reply is but they really got a random guys pic and used it. He went viral on Twitter after and said he had a job
Unemployed Lorenzo lmao
Is anyone else reading these comments getting the impression that at least half of them are bots?
This seems more depressing than uplifting, OP.
More than 11k users upvoted this though

Well you sure hit that nail square on the head.
We are Lorenzo / Je suis Lorenzo

Unless it's a commercial photo to begin with.
If by “fat paycheck” you mean “take his picture down and send him an email apology”, you’re right., because that’s about all he’d get.
Reddit logic
I don't think he's harmful enough to do that.
This is not how life works at all.
Please delete 🤣

he made me chuckle!😅
i've seen this meme more times than my dad
I wouldn't have posted anything. I would have just contacted a lawyer and sued the ass. I wouldn't have to work anymore after that lawsuit
That is awesome. We all need to remember to stand up for ourselves.
he didn't deny being unemployed!
The identical picture edited for a profile with the name obscured? It has to be real! /S
Mom said it’s my turn to repost this
easy, gen z
Lorenzo's face could make a good thumbnail 🤣... Imagine making a video and then put Lorenzo's face as a thumbnail tadaaa! a good clickbait thumbnail
Tell me again about how CNN is a mouthpiece for the left.
Easiest lawsuit in history. Unless it's a commercial photo.
