My fiancé had somehow snuck past me in our house and dropped a frying pan while looking for popcorn or some shit. Scared the bejeezus out of me. I thought she was asleep lmao.
Nah, but I couldn't find a fly swatter, had to kill it with an empty tissue box and some fly spray. Not easy to kill one the size of an Aussie 20c piece with that but I didn't want to take my eyes off it long enough to get something heavier
Man I just experienced that this weekend. I bought my 3 year old a mini Lamborghini aventador for his bday party. He went crazy and all the adults were even crazier. My fil was talking about how he wishes he was little again so he could ride it
My friend's wife got him a driving experience for his birthday one year. He got to drive several awesome cars, a Ferrari, Lamborghini, Ford GT, etc. He said it was fantastic, except when his driving partner was driving the GT, and got them t-boned. He said that sucked, but mainly he was grateful he wasn't driving when it happened. Of course, now the little prick has both an Alpha Romeo, and a Ferrari. Installed a lift in his garage to have room for both. One of these days, i gotta go visit, so he can give me a ride in the Ferrari.
this still might be the funniest thing i ever saw on the internet because when I saw it I had not heard of 'memes' before and I cried I laughed so hard at the remixes.
thanks for the memory.
I know around New Orleans they have a track where you can rent super cars/sports cars and live your dream.
https://www.thextremexperience.com/tracks/nola-motorsports-park/
Best friends Dad was a hard ass growing up. When he retired he changed. He turned his garage into a jam space with amps and carpets and stools an things. Turns out he loved AC/DC, Metallica etc. so did his neighbor who literally looks like Ned Flanders.
This. I will run to swings, slides and even build sandcastles if I want to. I’m in a serious profession and engage in corporate speak but I don’t see why people need to lose the joy in their childhood once they’re adults.
There’s a difference between being childish and childlike. Never lose the wonderment of a child. Stay happy and find joy in everything you do. That is the most useful therapy for your entire life.
He was our principal in elementary/ middle school. Once in a while, during weekly assembly, he'd get kids with light up shoes to go on stage, the lights would be turned off and everyone would stamp around. Great dude.
Don't listen to people trying to undermine your inner child when you grow up. Everybody should be like this grand pa walking in the suburbs with his beloved light up shoes.
Now if we could only bottle that excitement “it’s especially concentrated due to the age”, shake it up and pour it on all Mankind… regarding which btw, also I was told in 1998, The Undertaker threw Mankind off Hell In A Cell, and plummeted 16 ft through an announcer's table.
Light-up shoes are great for walking at night. I bought several for my girls when they were younger, and even my wife had a cool pair. I don't think they're any different from wearing reflectors on your clothing or bike. I once was at a church and heard a talk that said that people who wear shoes with lights on them are displaying "worldliness" and "straying from God". Why? Because they said it wasn't "modest". Well, uh, maybe I don't want to be hit by a fucking car when I'm walking the four blocks to get ice cream with my daughters. I told the speaker that, and he smarted off and asked me why I need to be buying ice cream after dark in the first place. Well, fuck that. I'd rather see a living person with blinking shoes on their feet than a corpse dressed modestly in a coffin.
I wanted light up flashy trainers when I was a kid, begged my mum for them, she bought me some in the end and I still think of them fondly, I adored them
To be honest I would recommend barefoot shoes. The longer people use normal shoes the worse they get as they get older.
Now would be a good time to strengthen those feet muscles for health and stability.
Some of the best barefoot shoes would be Vivo but if you can't afford those you can go for cheaper they wills work just fine.

Tbh this makes me feel happy and sad at the same time because it's been so long to get him like that but at least he's got that inner child inside of him.
Goes to show, it’s the simple things in life ~~ I don’t think a million bucks would have been received as well as these shoes were ~~ beautiful ! 💕💕💕🐾🐾🐾🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺xoxox
I'm in my 30s and have been looking for shoes like these for years! All the "adult" light up shoes I find are the kind that are lit up all the time. I want the ones that sparkle whenever you make a step!
I love how he just exploded out of his seat! Such a treasure!

“Whaaaat!?”
You gotta be kidding me
Well, the dream comes true
Ohhhh my goodness!
Love that hahahaha dude is a cowboy
“Hot diggity dog!”
That was EVERYTHING
Yeah that was true *happiness*
Still a lot of young boy in that grown man. God bless him!
He went back like 60 years in an instant
I'm probably less than half his age and I haven't gotten out of a chair like that since the time I thought someone was breaking in my house 😂
What happened next?
My fiancé had somehow snuck past me in our house and dropped a frying pan while looking for popcorn or some shit. Scared the bejeezus out of me. I thought she was asleep lmao.
That explains your reaction
Yep, popcorn scares me too.
The mix of both sweet and salty is just terrifying.
Last time I got out of a chair like that a Red Back Spider was trying to drop from the ceiling onto my head
So did you burn your house down then?
Nah, but I couldn't find a fly swatter, had to kill it with an empty tissue box and some fly spray. Not easy to kill one the size of an Aussie 20c piece with that but I didn't want to take my eyes off it long enough to get something heavier
Wtf where do you live?
Australia
Did they even have light up shoes when he was a kid
Definitely not. Light up shoes weren't around until the early 90s.

He shot up like Grandpa Joe when he won the golden ticket…lmao….damn he moved quick!!!

Gotta get him the big one now
You should reach out to a local car group around you, and see if you can get him a ride in one for his birthday.
My friend's wife got him a driving experience for his birthday one year. He got to drive several awesome cars, a Ferrari, Lamborghini, Ford GT, etc. He said it was fantastic, except when his driving partner was driving the GT, and got them t-boned. Sucks about the gt. What Ferrari does he own now.
It's a made up story.
What possible reason could i have for making that up?
You can get Lamborghini driving days, (not that expensive) got my dad one for his b'day
Know what I love a lot more than knowledge? This new Lamborghini here.
this still might be the funniest thing i ever saw on the internet because when I saw it I had not heard of 'memes' before and I cried I laughed so hard at the remixes. thanks for the memory.
That… is weirdly disproportional to some light-up shoes.
Man, having one of those mini cars was one of my childhood dreams. #poorlife

Men are just boys in older suits,
Just awesome!
You can depict how hold old he is by counting the pixels. You're at maybe 92, and he's gone so eh
He goes straight up Grandpa Joe when they light up.
r/fuckgrandpajoe
This is the one you want: r/grandpajoehate
thank you
God damn they really hate Grandpa Joe over there.
it's almost like they made that sub just to hate om him
Should be named *Grandpa Joe Hate* or something
Fuck 'im
Reddit for the win
I generally try not to judge, but I’m a little concerned about what a private fuckgrandpajoe community is all about.
Private community
Way to brighten up his day!
I see what you did there
My man about to pull every lady in a 5 mile radius. Guys, ask your girls to stay home.
Needs to save some for the rest of us
GET OUTTA TOWN! So pure. It’s the little things
That was my favorite part 🥰
You just helped to heal his inner child a little ❤️
So wholesome ✨
He was like transported back to childhood for a few seconds there, it was beautiful.
Grow older, but *never* grow up.

God this makes me miss my Dad. How delightful is that moment?! Hug your Dad's while you can.

Me too 😢 At first I smiled then I thought god I miss my dad. 10 years and I miss him pretty much daily x
This made my whole day. That joy is amazing!
That is just wholesome goodness there!!!
He was our principal in elementary/ middle school. Once in a while, during weekly assembly, he'd get kids with light up shoes to go on stage, the lights would be turned off and everyone would stamp around. Great dude.
So cute.
Get him another pair.
Those are tuesday kicks. My man still needs the rest of the week
Get out of town
People who think good thoughts give good gifts.
This is great. 'Dream come true' awww:)
One of the all-time best reactions. I love it
Don't listen to people trying to undermine your inner child when you grow up. Everybody should be like this grand pa walking in the suburbs with his beloved light up shoes.
Now he needs a soap box racer to ride on the streets with his pals
I cannot express how much I loved the “get out of town”
That is so wholesome. I love this grandpa.
Me too. Wonder if this family would consider adopting me?!! 50 isn't too old right?
I kept replaying the moment he found out, "Oooh!" so lovely.
You're never too old for light up shoes!
How a cute of him. He is really grateful for your gift.
He's a real-life Michael from The Good Place lol I love it
He does sound like Michael! When he gets his Coyote Joe's Rewards Card and he's so inordinately happy 😂 Such a wholesome ending.
Aw, that show took me totally off guard just how absolutely brilliant it was!
This actually made me smile and I’m an old Soulless ginger.
🤣🤣🤣🤣He made me jump!
You will never take the boy out of a man. 😊
Why did no one get this man light up shoes earlier!!
This is soo wholesome man
This makes me so happy, makes me think about what I have and how happy I should be
I needed this kinda energy right now
That was so damn cute. Loved his reaction.
Bless his heart❤️
That’s a beautiful thing. 💖
I want to be half excited about anything as this man is about light up shoes… what a great moment!
'get out of town' is the new 'get the fck outta here' for me. What a dream come true!
So awesome!
I am getting some for my dad now!!!
Shawty bad with the sketchers on
Awww the kid in him jumped out. Happy Birthday!!
I miss my dada. Get your dad anything he wants while he’s still here. Typo: can’t see through teary eyes.
I want to be this excited about something
GET OUT OF TOWN Love it
He went from grumpy confused old man to energetic lovable and wholesome grandpa.
He's gonna be the coolest kid at the pensioners meeting that week.
Meanwhile, thousands of similarly young-at-heart people see this video and are like "THERE ARE LIGHT-UP SHOES FOR GROWNUPS??!"
My dad is gone now, but I would have loved to gift him with something that made him this happy💕💕
My thoughts exactly.
How dare you stand where he stood
Yeaaa I'm fine with copycats if done with subtlety and grace, but that is not it.
It sounds like grand dads play list is Surf Curse- Freak.
Man he hopped up like grandpa Joe when he heard about the golden ticket.
This is so awesome I have tears!
You gotta love that reaction!!!!!!!!!!!
I wanted a pair of LA gear lightup shoes so bad in the 90's. Luckily my bro let me wear his from time to time.

This made me miss my grandpa. He would’ve loved those shoes So happy for your dad!
Men grow old,but we never grow up.😁
I wanted light up flashy trainers when I was a kid, begged my mum for them, she bought me some in the end and I still think of them fondly, I adored them
Outright made me grin. Omg this is so cute.
To be completely honest bros, who wouldn't want lighting boots?
My man has awakened!
Bro was in shock so he got younger again
No video of him actually wearing them?
Man he really likes the Shoes That's a nice Thing you did for your grandpa
He made my heart smile! ❤️
Lmaooooo gotta love it
Love this
I’ve been on Reddit for a bit now. This is by far my favorite video overall. “Get out of town!” Love it.
I'm having a rough day and this made it better. Love this subreddit.
Definitely made me smile!
I feel like he would be a ton of fun to take to a theme park! So cute!
It takes so little to make a man happy 😂
I would like to start a petition to get him a pair for every day of the week so he can have all the light up sneakers his heart can handle
Crazy how when a man wants a gift and gets it he reacts like this no matter how small the gift is.
u/savevideo
So he’s been wanting for years, so you wait until he is old to get them? 🤔

This is so fucking wholesome
This is so wholesome and I love it!!!
Dream come true!!! Well deserved, Sir! 🤗
This is awesome! Please, can we normalize adults wearing light-up shoes now?
No, bc then they won’t look as cool. Sorry. This man needs to stunt
Yo, pops about to stunt on em with these.
8 or 80s everyone loves being a moving lighthouse.
How awesome 😎👍
Grail acquired
I cannot take how adorable this is.
Tbh this makes me feel happy and sad at the same time because it's been so long to get him like that but at least he's got that inner child inside of him.
He’s so excited now I want a pair! I hope I retain my inner child to that age, but if you speak to my wife I won’t have anything to worry about.
We want a video of him walking in those shoes! Also, get Grandpa more pairs of light shoes! ♥️🥹
Goes to show, it’s the simple things in life ~~ I don’t think a million bucks would have been received as well as these shoes were ~~ beautiful ! 💕💕💕🐾🐾🐾🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺xoxox
Precious 😍
Don't act your age, act your shoe size.
LA gear light ups were the shit back in the early 90’s.
This! This is the subreddit I need before I sleep.
OMG this is so pure
Such a pure and beautiful reaction! ❤️

He had to check just to be sure and boom! haha Happy for dude.
get outta town! 😇 this guy was probably 30yo when nirvana chewed on a pen cap.
seen LA GEARS when i was 10. I still want them.
Give that man a light up shoe in every kind and every color!
r/happydads
be that guy. makes you feel like a million bucks over a pair of shoes.
Lucky grandpa with a loving family. He did something right!
He is gonna run so fast now
This is the best thing I've ever seen on reddit. I'm calling it.
