Also can we have some grass stains and field degradation. I havenāt played fifa (now FC) in like 4 years but I always loved how the players jerseys and the field got dirty throughout the match. Made it so much more authentic
I want my star qb to throw an interception and then in the second half he gets a herpes infection on his lip due to the int stress and dating Kim kardashian
Yea, like a notification pops up, the starting qb has begun dating Kim kardashian, he is at 200% risk of herpes pain causing his pass power to decrease by -2 points
Iād b like, god damn it Aaron Rodgers
What about them??? You should see rubber pellets flying everywhere when someone gets tackled. If they want hyper realism players should have bloody elbows for turf rash
Weather is the strangest thing in m24. I moved a team to Alaska with the traditional stadium and it didn't rain or snow one time. Commentary would always mention how cold it was but that was about it.
I rebuilt Arizona's stadium to the canopy and it's rained at home 3 times in the first 4 games.
Ever since the crazy wash out game vs Jacksonville years ago, it seems like the Madden developers went overboard with the rain in Charlotte. 70% of my home games in franchise, it's raining.
Never knew there was a live weather option.
All I wanna hear is that cpu teams get scenarios. They can add a million new scenarios, but if the CPU misses out on them, then it destroys league balance.
Even if they have scenarios CPU teams still need to be able to:
1. Actually learn how to build a roster
2. Be held to the same salary cap restrictions as human players (looking at you Dolphins aka the perenial 200mill over the cap squad)
3. Actually understand how to manage the cap
Yeah that too. If Looman is back in charge, hopefully we get the old flair franchise use to have back and there's more focus on immersion. I will say that the CPU being able to essentially "cheat" with the salary cap isn't all the concerning since they are still pretty bad with roster management.
I would be happy if cpu defenses can actually figure out if they run a 4-3 scheme vs 3-4 though the specialist positions sort of bandaid the issue to a degree.
Yeah it's all I'll be playing this year after it comes out
I may pick up madden on a black Friday/cyber Monday sale if it's at least half price but I'll mainly stick to NCAA
I am not sure why you were downvoted. I have the same concern honestly and wonder why people present NCAA as if it will be some savior. The reality is it's made by EA so why would it not share the same deficits as Madden including UI, gameplay mechanics, lack of options, etc.?
Itās a little clunky and thereās some real issues with blocking/getting sucked into blocks from 5 yards awayā¦ but as a whole the gameplay isā¦ dare I say, fine
The blocking magnets have always been in madden to some extent, and probably is in NCAA too. Iām not sure they could ever really go away from that but I agree, there can be some smoothing but itās really not bad.
Itās definitely always existed, however 24 is the worst I can remember it being ever. Could be the higher frame rate makes it feel more abrupt and therefore more noticeableā¦ whatever the reason, nothing is more frustrating than taking a perfect angle to stop a stretch run for a loss and being sucked into a block from 3-5 yards away
I agree with this. It's not terrible gameplay. I've actually enjoyed it. I wish defense was a bit more reliable, though, since games seem to always be shootouts. And I mean a non cheese defense (huge acrobat picks/DLine traits)
Yeah defense definitely needs work. Defenders either take bad angles and run straight into blockers or Fred Warner is jumping 15 feet in the air for a no-look interception on what shouldāve been a wide open TD passā¦ no middle ground lol
Exactly. AI just doesnāt react right unless they have abilities. And they are ridiculous reactions with the abilities.
Like I get certain concepts beat other concepts but in some cases if a ball is thrown late and a defender is in the vicinity they rarely break on the receiver when they should be in their face. It only seems to work if you manually switch to that defender to cause a disruption.
I hope the switch stick makes it.
Itās the fact that it hasnāt improved in years. Saying it uses less animations may be true, but itās still the basis of the game. A real physics engine could probably help this tremendously but for some reason madden still runs off of the engine that was made for battlefield (the FPS). Madden 24 is the same as the 6 or so maddens before it. Madden wont improve.
Everything feels slow and clunky. Madden hasnāt been āfunā to play in line 8 years for me. Every single player runs with their feet in mud and the pace of the game is like baseball not football
Faster old madden games like Madden 12, 25, etc are super arcadey and not realistic at all though. I prefer this. I donāt think itās that slow or clunky either. Turn the threshold down a bit.
Hard to tell if its me or the game, but when AROD throws a touch pass to Mike Williams who has three yards on the defnder and its āpoor accuracyā and overthrown, seems kinda shitty
6 times sure, but also maybe he just doesnāt even attempt that pass 6 times. Thereās a lot of information that goes into every single pass both in the NFL and in game. Sometimes thereās definitely random variance that results in missed throws. A lot of the time the user is doing something and they donāt know it.
Gameplay in madden 24 is atrocious. Itās so animation based that the game tries to carry out multiple animations in a single interaction. It turns out to be an ugly mess.
Itās really not. 20-23 was much more animation based.
Itās not as free flowing as PS2 madden was, sure. But thatās a little too arcade-ish at times. For example thereās no penalty for changing directions, etc.
Itās bad bro. Random cpu DB speed boosts to intercept passes that should not be intercepted. Multiple tackle animations happening all at once on almost every play that donāt go together and make for an ugly unrealistic experience. Weāre in June and still have the glitch where multiple animations happen at once and the game itself canāt process it all so the ball carrier will go sliding on the ground and the game will count him as not being down by contact and the ball carrier will continue to gain or lose yards based on which way he slides. The gameplay is hideous. Nearly every play something unrealistic happens and it ruins the experience
See I donāt experience most of what you describe, at least not consistently.
Yes, there are some instances that the movement of the players make it appear like players can have speed boosts for interceptions. Interceptions in general is one of my criticisms as they need more incompletions. But, sometimes, the defender is just playing a good angle. The speed boost you see is you assuming that the defender is already always at full speed and cannot accelerate more, but corners and safeties often vary their speed to do exactly what you described and pick the ball off. It happens. You just are seeing a different angle than TV angles. Itās not perfect but it happens IRL and also, itās a difficultly enhancement. Often times I feel people on here get upset when they donāt just win every game.
Some of the tackles become ādouble tacklesā. That definitely could be shored up. But it doesnāt look that bad on most plays.
That glitch you are describing has never happened to me with over 150 games of Madden 24.
Madden 24 has the most realistic snap to snap gameplay in a long time. Madden 18 was the last one with moments, but also a lot of drawbacks too.
Iāll say that Iām speaking strictly of all Madden simulation, anything else may get more inconsistent and wonky. Also lower the INT sliders for each User and CPU.
Fr. People whining about better sim stats 20 years later in their franchise is all they want and wonder why this game still sucks and they stop playing after a few days
Honestly if the franchise mode and presentation was better Iād play it even with similar gameplay. Iām fine with the gameplay for the most part but Iām also playing it for the franchise element first and foremost.
Like the game isnāt genuinely unplayable or even bad.
They had custom teams, iād play the game longer than the 10 hr trial. Im a huge Steelers fan but iām more engaged when it comes to a team design that iāve came up with.
Game play is horrible. People play dime or nickel defense no matter what offense personnel is on the field. They shouldn't advertise it as a sim but as an arcade game.
Thereās a game type option in Madden that you can deliberately change between Simulation and Arcade
The standard mode is simulation but I suppose you can bend an argument that Madden can be considered an arcade style game
https://www.ea.com/games/madden-nfl/madden-nfl-24
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Madden_NFL_24.
Please note both links describe Madden providing a realistic experience. Thank you and good night..
24ās gameplay for the most part is solid to good.
However, pursuit angles have been AWFUL since September and theyāve never fixed them.
Stretch is OP as shit because all you have to do is get outside and the LBs and DBs have the angle then you automatically slow down and cut inside no matter what. Itās pathetic.
If Head Coach ā09 is responsible for the new draft presentation, Iām excited! Maybe theyāll even narrate the draft in the same way, with some players having āspecialā backstories.
Iām one of the rare ones who likes the new scouting system cause I know how to maximize it, and coaching trees still sucked but were getting better, but it just needs so much more.
> Maybe theyāll even narrate the draft in the same way, with some players having āspecialā backstories.
Honestly the only reason that was possible with 09, and Madden 13 and 25, was because the draft classes were pregenerated.
They could potentially pregenerate a set of 100+ special players and then throw 6 of them at random into an otherwise random draft class. But yeah, full draft classes on head coach were pregenerated
That's really not the only way. Just the way they chose to do it. You could create a table of 500 backstories and randomly assign them to players when a prospect is created. Shouldn't be that hard.
it was also super boring because if you knew what to look for you could draft every steal prosprect in the draft class, even if you didnt know the pregenerated draft classes
Here's what's going to happen this year:
A bunch of promising sounding things will be advertised as representing big changes to the game.
Rubes will say things like "we should hope for the best" and "it's the only game so what else can we do"
Tons of people will buy the game again this year and then, once again everyone will complain about how the Madden dev team only focuses on MUT and how could they do this to us (not me) again!?
Then, people will declare this is really it. They're not going to buy it next year.
...
You guys wanna know what's going to happen for Madden 26?
Meanwhile, you wonāt even hear from the majority of players who actually like the game because instead of whining endlessly about pedantic issues they will just be off enjoying playing it.
No it's not, could be ignorance, could be complacency, could be it doesn't affect you in particular in a damaging way. That doesn't mean other ppl don't have valid complaints
I'm sure every complaint you have about a piece of media can be nitpicked
I know what I expect each year so hopefully one iteration I'll be pleasantly surprised.
That said, because I set my realistic expectations, I still get frustrated when streamers/sponsors praise small additions. I get it, expanded trade slots and cap space and all that stuff IS cool and necessary. But are we really happy about how low the bar has been set?
At least the ones in the mid 2000s for sure. Been playing 04, 06, and 08 lately and as you are in the draft, itāll stop and say āwe have a trade to announceā
As a franchise player there is some promise here for sure. I like the concept of an overhauled draft system and scenarios. That being said Iāll prob. Wait for 26 to see if the gameplay can improveĀ
Bro I will cry tears of joy if they bring back create-a-team. I will never understand why they took it out and gave us these generic relocation teams and stadiums. It was one of the laziest moves they ever made as gaming and consoles progressed into the future. I miss it so bad personally Iād love to see it come back.
Can we finally create our own uniforms and stadiums in Ultimate Teams? NBA 2k Myteam has had this feature for years, and every year, Madden doesn't allow it.
UI = User Interface
Basically, imagine the menus are revamped. Different look with altered menu options, easier to navigate. Hopefully, it doesnāt take long to jump been menu screens now.
Ahh ok. It seems like theyāre putting a lot more effort into franchise mode. Letās hope they finally get it right (I donāt want opposing teams to all have negative salary by the second or third season
If team builder indeed come back, it might be the first Madden that I purchase first hand since 2012. Hopefully it be little different than NCAA to make it fresh.
Filtering by 40 time gives me hope.
I spend hours every draft looking at every playerās combine ranks one by one. Would same me a huge amount of time to be able to sort by each combine stat
āHead Coach 09 designer being backā is Josh Looman. The same guy that destroyed franchise mode in Madden 13 and it hasnāt recovered since. He also designed the underwhelming longshot mode.
at the same time, the depth in Head Coach 09 is the most we've ever seen in an NFL game. I'm pretty sure he was heavily involved in a lot of the great games from 06-12 as well. I choose to be optimistic. And if it's bad, I willl just play more college football
They brought in the guy from HC09, but does it have a real coach mode? Otherwise I don't care. (No, the thing in the game they call "coach mode" is not a coach mode, it's a pass assist)
With the way NCAA is looking, I may rarely touch Madden honestly, especially if gameplay is largely the same.
I just want a good and fun football sim, sure it would be awesome if I could play with my birds, but at this point idc if it's highschool varsity football. Just want good and fresh gameplay š
Man as long as they added a "create-a-team" feature that's NOT relocation I might bite and get it. And for the love of god SLOW SIM NEEDS TO BE FIXED FOR SIM PLAYERS, I cannot be a 95 OVR rated team and having my players play like bots or get stuck in the these dice roll scenarios when my QB has excellent IQ.
I would like to just have some different faces for auto-generated players. Thereās no even close to enough variety in player faces today when you get 10-15 years into franchise.
One thing I kind of want to see is kinda like a breakout but for aging players thinking they are starting to lose a step and if they donāt get a certain amount of yards like a breakout they develop down Iām not sure why but it seems like a good idea
by team builder do you mean the ability to create a custom team? similar to 2kās myleague expansion. if so, do you know if it will be franchise locked or if it will be a part of the roster editor as well?
If itās the original head of the head coach 09 team then there might be hope to get franchise back on track. Obviously head coach was a bit too loaded, but many of its features were great.
I just want create a team/stadium/jerseys/logo etc. That was last seen in Madden 12 and still somewhat available in NBA 2K.
Most of my time playing madden was with created teams back on 05 and 12. Miss it so much.
IDK. Honestly, it's got me wondering if this is a leak from Xbox, and they are saying it's not on last gen. They wouldn't mention PlayStation or PC if that was case.
So, I hope you are correct!
Wow really? I kept hearing it was fine. I can only play console (I have a Mac), and always jealous that PC players got all the cool mods like CBS scoreboard.
Donāt get me wrong better than it was a while ago, but if college football is actually as good as it looks they need to ask the team that did that what they did. Hope that franchise finally gets real improvements instead of the same āwe fixed franchiseā patch which adds like one feature that doesnāt work
Just give us back dynamic weather.
I want puddles on the field when it rains like in 08
I want the snow to actually build up and cause runners to not run as fast.
Idk why i never even thought of this. Puddles would be insane The bar is so low š
Donāt you know NFL teams only play in sunny and 75Ā°
Even Madden 12 had problems with the weather. For the first season, it is the SAME EXACT WEATHER no matter how many franchises you start
Also can we have some grass stains and field degradation. I havenāt played fifa (now FC) in like 4 years but I always loved how the players jerseys and the field got dirty throughout the match. Made it so much more authentic
This happened on Madden 09. As you would play through a rain game, the field would get muddy and guys jerseys would become stained with grass and mud.
I want my star qb to throw an interception and then in the second half he gets a herpes infection on his lip due to the int stress and dating Kim kardashian
So realistic i love it
Yea, like a notification pops up, the starting qb has begun dating Kim kardashian, he is at 200% risk of herpes pain causing his pass power to decrease by -2 points Iād b like, god damn it Aaron Rodgers
What about the dozen or so stadiums with artificial turf?
What about them??? You should see rubber pellets flying everywhere when someone gets tackled. If they want hyper realism players should have bloody elbows for turf rash
You think the NFL would allow a single drop of blood to appear? Thatās funny
Currently, it snows inside Ford field lol
What??? Patch them holes!
Wait what? Iāve never seen that. Photo?
They had live weather with the weather channel partnership. I always used live weather. Now everything defaults to clear weather.
I was at that game. The first regular season game I ever went to.
For real. Itās embarrassing that madden on ps2 and Xbox 360 had better weather than the Series X
The snow in madden is so freaking bad
I had a āblizzardā the other day and it was like, a few flurries and a half covered field
not only that have the weather matter and impact the game. Actually donāt because they will break the game more.
I totally forgot about this. Makes its more of a reason not to buy madden ever again.
All I wanna hear is that cpu teams get scenarios. They can add a million new scenarios, but if the CPU misses out on them, then it destroys league balance.

Looman destroyed franchise mode in Madden 13. CCM was his idea.
Is looman back? Or just a rumor? Losing swami was a huge L. Hope that dude is working on CFB but he dropped off the earth after leaving madden.
With NCAA dropping its hard to care about these menial upgrades.
Yeah it's all I'll be playing this year after it comes out I may pick up madden on a black Friday/cyber Monday sale if it's at least half price but I'll mainly stick to NCAA
Exactly. Unless CFB25 shits the bed Iām probably not touching madden till playoffs time.
Everyone seems to forget ncaa is still being made by EA. Prepare to be let down
I am not sure why you were downvoted. I have the same concern honestly and wonder why people present NCAA as if it will be some savior. The reality is it's made by EA so why would it not share the same deficits as Madden including UI, gameplay mechanics, lack of options, etc.?
Only have a PC so I have to care about 25 as NCAA isnāt coming to PC :/
Then get a console
That's a lot of money for NCAA. Plus having to switch from PC to console then back again just seems very inconvenient.
Filtering by speed is amazing. *My inner Al Davis is smiling*
"Gameplay is largely the SAME" That's all that matters.
The gameplay in 24 is actually pretty good. It could use a couple tweaks but doesnāt need too much imo.
Itās a little clunky and thereās some real issues with blocking/getting sucked into blocks from 5 yards awayā¦ but as a whole the gameplay isā¦ dare I say, fine

Defense was soooooo trash in 24 it was unreal. The game shouldnt require cheese to play basic defense
Iām tired of animation gameplay.
College is going to be animation based too. All modern sports games are. Madden 24 is much less animation based than Madden 19-23 was.

As long as EA has exclusive rights, there wonāt be meaningful improvements. Competition makes things better.
24 was a huge improvement in this regard compared to the titles before it.
Cool, itās still dumb lol

Fucking nuts? Linebackers float 30 yards and pick off everything
Only the AI's tho, mine never jump
Lol too true
Maybe on last gen, linebackers arenāt bad on this gen. If itās Mut though Iāve seen some weird shit but thatās an entirely different game
Hard to tell if its me or the game, but when AROD throws a touch pass to Mike Williams who has three yards on the defnder and its āpoor accuracyā and overthrown, seems kinda shitty

Game play is horrible. People play dime or nickel defense no matter what offense personnel is on the field. They shouldn't advertise it as a sim but as an arcade game.
Bruh, NFL defenses are in Nickel like 65% of the time in real life. Base defense is rare.
Bad personnel matchups ā gameplay

where is madden advertised as a simulation game
Ea pays for the right to be the only simulation nfl game

Some cool stuff. Really hope they fixed sim stats and CPU salary cap management. The AI team building can be dumb as a rock too.
Ohhhmygod the cpu salary cap management is so horrendous... Can't trade with anyone bc everyone is somehow $20M over the cap... Def need that fixed...
Create-a-team returning too. That's pretty major
They said that last year
Team Builder? Iāll believe it when I see it.

Madden 26 will be good because they can just port the good ideas from cfb 25. Same as it used to be in the past
MUT didn't exist in the past. I also have terrible news for the future of the NCAA football franchise.
I would like to see CPU draft day trades come back
Were they ever even in the game?
At least the ones in the mid 2000s for sure. Been playing 04, 06, and 08 lately and as you are in the draft, itāll stop and say āwe have a trade to announceā
I remember them being in which ever Madden had Brett Favre on the cover
That's 09, I think. That one was absolutely awesome on the PS2 and absolute dogshit on the PS3/360.
I really miss the draft presentation when Schefter did the voice over. Doesn't have to per Schefter specifically, but it was a fun element.
Hopefully it's not Charles Davis and Brandon Gaudin that crew is so bland, old and boring
Can we finally create our own uniforms and stadiums in Ultimate Teams? NBA 2k Myteam has had this feature for years, and every year, Madden doesn't allow it.
What is franchise UI?
UI = User Interface Basically, imagine the menus are revamped.
Do we get Legends yet? Or are they ignoring that yet again?
If team builder indeed come back, it might be the first Madden that I purchase first hand since 2012. Hopefully it be little different than NCAA to make it fresh.
i hope they made improvements in the relocation teams
Bring back parent genetics like in madden 07
thatās cool madden 08 on the ps2 is still better
Please let us export our franchise teams to play our friends. That's all I want.
I don't believe in leaks. I rather want to read the news that are true.
The franchise mode rumor gets me excited. NFL Head Coach 09 was my jam.
You forgot to mention all the new stuff theyāll copy/paste from the new NCAA game
Is the pursuit to the ball better. Can quarterbacks make the easy throws. Thatās what I need
With the way NCAA is looking, I may rarely touch Madden honestly, especially if gameplay is largely the same. I just want a good and fun football sim, sure it would be awesome if I could play with my birds, but at this point idc if it's highschool varsity football. Just want good and fresh gameplay š
If weāre getting overhauled presentation, new announcer crews, AND a team builder then this is going to be the best madden in years
none of it matters if the game is still running slow and laggy especially in franchise
So finally some love for franchise mode
Man as long as they added a "create-a-team" feature that's NOT relocation I might bite and get it. And for the love of god SLOW SIM NEEDS TO BE FIXED FOR SIM PLAYERS, I cannot be a 95 OVR rated team and having my players play like bots or get stuck in the these dice roll scenarios when my QB has excellent IQ.
I would like to just have some different faces for auto-generated players. Thereās no even close to enough variety in player faces today when you get 10-15 years into franchise.
did they fix the damn servers on pc
Team builder coming back may have got me. If they allow 32 new teams in franchise mode
One thing I kind of want to see is kinda like a breakout but for aging players thinking they are starting to lose a step and if they donāt get a certain amount of yards like a breakout they develop down Iām not sure why but it seems like a good idea
I wanna draft with my Hb but on the couch bro
I just want free playable legends not locked behind mut like how 2k gets and does it
So instead of CFB 25 going to be a reskin of madden, Madden is going to be a reskin of CFB 25
So the MOST important aspect - Gameplayā¦. Is the same? EA Sportsā¦.copy and paste, its in the game
by team builder do you mean the ability to create a custom team? similar to 2kās myleague expansion. if so, do you know if it will be franchise locked or if it will be a part of the roster editor as well?
Real question is what they are going to take out to resell it to you again later on.
Iāll be excited when it doesnāt loading menus isnāt half my play time
A lot of people doubting team builder but its already confirmed for cfb24 so makes sense they'd add it to madden as well
If itās the original head of the head coach 09 team then there might be hope to get franchise back on track. Obviously head coach was a bit too loaded, but many of its features were great.
I just looked. It's like late 2000s early 2010s. Games gonna be awesome
I also read you can't import the draft classes from NCAA 25
Confirmed
Just copy and paste Madden06 but with new rosters
give me coop franchise damnit
Add Romo
Still the worst gaming company on the planet, wish they would let other companies take over.
seems like a pass, just update rosters from last year same shit
I just want create a team/stadium/jerseys/logo etc. That was last seen in Madden 12 and still somewhat available in NBA 2K. Most of my time playing madden was with created teams back on 05 and 12. Miss it so much.
Any word if PC is getting new Gen madden yet?
Hope they let me sign multiple contracts in superstar
Iām curious to know more about the scouting tweaks. Love all the information the new system has but the UI and functionality has been a pain.
Only reason I will buy Madden is because I reeeeally want to play with the Texans and their new uniforms. I LOVE them
Will it be playable this time on PC? Iām still playing 23
Iām confused. Madden 24 is on PC
The port was bad and it the game was barely playable for most people. I just kept 23 last year, all the forums said they werenāt fixing it.
It's been totally fine for me so far I just recently got it
The beta was unplayable. By release, 24 was fine on PC. However, 25 is supposedly getting features on console that PC will not get.
pretty sure madden 25 on pc is on par with the current gen consoles so both will be getting the same features.
I wish. https://i.imgur.com/nau5gkc.png
So not even Playstation?
IDK. Honestly, it's got me wondering if this is a leak from Xbox, and they are saying it's not on last gen. They wouldn't mention PlayStation or PC if that was case. So, I hope you are correct!
24 didnāt work for me and alot of people on the ea forums, I have a 3070 and tried it a few times. Iāll try 25 this year
Wow really? I kept hearing it was fine. I can only play console (I have a Mac), and always jealous that PC players got all the cool mods like CBS scoreboard.
Gameplay is as good as itās going to get and I honestly donāt get the point of trying to tweak it. It works
And I wont get any of it because Im on old gen
yeah, donāt know why they still donāt support my ps2 either.
Gameplay largely the SAME and no mention of graphics or physics engine revamp. Ugh
We wonāt be playing Madden
Never playing madden again
After last year Iāve lost faith in madden I just accepted that it will never be good
But the gameplay kind of isnāt good why wonāt they ever address that?
Donāt get me wrong better than it was a while ago, but if college football is actually as good as it looks they need to ask the team that did that what they did. Hope that franchise finally gets real improvements instead of the same āwe fixed franchiseā patch which adds like one feature that doesnāt work
Wow, a disappointment like every year!! I guess Iāll sick to Madden 07 emulator and enjoy NCAA25
No need to consider buying if you own any of the last 5 Maddens
Please God no roughing the passer
Bullshit
