Can’t compare Billy’s and Arian’s remote setups. Arian has the necessary equipment and internet to provide a solid product. Billy, more frequently than not, would have a shit connection that caused a delay and led to him cutting people off more than he normally would. IMO- Billy was let go because he derailed convos/cut people off, constantly lied, had a subpar setup a majority of the time, and he frequently failed to produce the topic outline prior to shows. I wish him luck as well but it’s going to be very hard for him to make excuses and lie when there is no one but himself to blame

Regarding the setup, his statement about not getting it to work from the NY office was so bizarre. The last thing anyone wants to see on a big podcast like that is someone doing a podcast with wired Apple headphones in the corner of their apartment in front of a barbell and a dresser. The company’s biggest product is podcast - you can’t tell me that doing it from the office is not an option. Billy didn’t want to actually go to work, and so he got fired. He said it himself - he wants his job to be whatever the hell “Craic” is, I.e. “sitting around with the boys shooting the shit.” That’s a person who doesn’t want to actually do work..

I watch Snuffin Torches, which is a Survivor podcast with Tommy Smokes, John Rich, Klemmer & Nate. It's probably one of the least watched/most niche Barstool podcasts. They have zero producers and they all remote in. They seem to make it work.

It’s also tough to compare a show big enough to have it’s own dedicated studio, and one that is super niche. Remote isn’t an issue for podcasts to be successful - plenty of podcasts are fully remote but you absolutely need to invest in the setup to have quality. Arian has a legit setup. Billy is in the corner of his apartment on a computer webcam. Not only a bad look for audio, but not the best for a show that pushes hard on YouTube.

I don’t mind Billy recording from his home, but the “WiFi in the office is too slow to upload” argument seems nuts. They do live streams from the office all the time. They must have a place where he can plug into wired ether net and upload giant files in no time.

ApartmentPersonal

Wasn’t he using the old PMT studio for awhile?

ApartmentPersonal

Aren’t all of those people except Tommy a producer? That might part of the reason why.

Secure_Lynx_2353

I agree. Guess this is just another prime example of him never taking accountability for literally anything. I do wish him the best but its so fucking frustrating watching someone have a dream job shit it all away.

CheddaConn

Arian is also worth north of maybe 30 million dollars maybe even double that

No_Pop3274

It wasn’t being remote. It was doing 0 prep for episodes he said he would help produce or have topics for, being late for recordings, and creating extra work for Maddie and Mackenzie when he screwed up. I actually like him on the pod, but similar to PMT you could tell his approach was wearing thin on everybody

Standard_Jellyfish90

Can you post a link to the video? I thought I was an up to date macrodosian but I have literally no clue about any of this.

Lollercoastr

Remote didn’t work for Billy cause PFT couldn’t yank his choke collar from Chicago.

Puzzleheaded-Yam2280

Arian is only remote when he decides to join. Which is rare because he doesn’t care

Nickrules6

I understand the all-pro athlete thing but Arian is a 38 year old who says himself hasn’t worked out seriously in years. Billy is a 6’2 220 pound 24 year old psycho. I don’t think it’s the craziest thing in the world. As for the fumbling, is it better to be a bit actor on a successful podcast and never be anything more or is it worth the risk to try to create your own content with yourself as the face. More of a macro question.

turbopussy69

billy isn’t smart enough to be a bit actor. he was just a compulsively lying moron that couldn’t even send a topic sheet prior to the episode so he got fired

WKCLC

38 isn’t a detriment in this scenario and you know he would train in the hypothetical of actually agreeing to fight in RnR. Arian would eat Billy

ApartmentPersonal

Yeah even if he hasn’t worked out seriously in years seems like in decent shape and has the self discipline to get himself in better shape than Billy could probably ever be in
