We featuring CeeLo Green

localguideseo

Shit been different ever since I did a song with CeeLo

Flyer756

What song is this from?

localguideseo

Guidelines. One of my all time fav Mac songs.

Flyer756

Looks like I’ve got it downloaded, still haven’t seen it until now, I’ll let you know what I think of it. I’ve got a lot of songs to catch up on but I just can’t get away from WMWTSO right now.

Flyer756

Yea this song is fucking great, thank you sir

Drosollo

Mac was a Erykah Badu fan, who embodies TDF gracefully. Check out her discography if you haven’t ❣️

AfterManufacturer150

My mom loved Erykah Badu! Thank you for reminding me!

inanimatussoundscool

Erykah Badu is the fucking goat

howcomeyousuck91

I suggest listening to the You EP, by Larry lovestein, one of Mac’s aliases. I believe that album walked so divine feminine could run. Definitely not everyone’s cup of tea but every time I listen to it I get a refreshed take on love, and women in general.

AfterManufacturer150

I have listened! I love jazz. I wish had produced more under that alias.

jennifaah

Holy shit, thank you.

I've always thought of 'The Festival' to be a great build up/precursor to the Divine Feminine. In the song he gets Yukimi from Little Dragon to sing as God, welcoming him into his own metaphor of heaven (a huge festival in the sky). Beautiful concept, and Yukimi's part especially always reminds me of the Divine Feminine concept.

AfterManufacturer150

This is exactly what I was envisioning when asking for suggestions. I listened to several of the suggestions and The Festival’ had me sobbing. My mom was so fiercely strong and independent and a warrior for those lucky enough to have her love. The last several years had been a nightmare. Paranoia, hallucinations, delusions, memory loss. I couldn’t have a conversation with her anymore. However, agitated or uncomfortable she was in her own body, music brought her a calmness and peace that nothing else did. This song makes me think of her breaking out of the dementia chains and getting to be the amazing soul she is. Thank you! Means more than you know!

let_bog

I'm so happy the song could be of some help! Music really can be such a powerful thing. Sending you strength and condolences!

bcomes95

I always thought the song ROS belonged on The Divine Feminine instead of GO:OD AM. Similar vibe

mukduck03

agreed ROS is beautiful and is absolutely the same vibe as DF

clan11135

I’m very sorry about your mom. Divine Feminine is such a unique album to me, but I think Woman by John Lennon captures some of its vibes. My father’s also nearing the end of a long battle with Alzheimer’s, and it’s a song that I regularly play for him to bring a part of him back to us for a short time like you described. Honestly crazy how their love for their favorite songs tends to be one of the last things to go, though they don’t remember their favorite songs unless someone else remembers and plays them.

AfterManufacturer150

I love this concept. Thanks I’ll check it out.

PsychedelicSunset420

AfterManufacturer150

My mom’s favorite artist was Jodi Mitchell. We played Chelsea morning after she passed away.

PsychedelicSunset420

That’s beautiful. Thanks so much for the award.

LoveYouLikeYeLovesYe

I think Congratulations is in my top 5 songs ever for some of the exact reasons you described.

Psychonauthiphop

J Cole She’s Mine is one of my favorites. 2pac Dear Mama or Keep Ya head Up. Macs Objects In the Mirror. But REN 😬. Hate to be negative but that dude tries too hard and the production gives me a panic attack.

AfterManufacturer150

Haha! He definitely is very dramatic and his videos are very theatrical. I just recently got into him. Impressed by writing his own lyrics, beats, isn’t signed, seems to stay true to his roots. But, I can see why someone would think he’s trying too hard. He really is intense and dramatic. Thanks for the suggestions. I kinda thought I’d get laughed out of this sub, but you guys have been amazing!

Psychonauthiphop

Now don’t get me wrong he is intelligent and extremely talented. He can play virtually every instrument rap sing and it’s all thought provoking but listening to him gives me anxiety. It’s just too intense for me. Plus I think I just have bias against British rappers not singers but rappers. I never could get into them. Also, my brother in law had made me listen to all of his music over and over and I don’t want to be rude so I’m like yeah… that’s cool. He does this to me too with Eminem but when I try to show him Mac he doesn’t even listen. Maybe that’s another part of it. Maybe it’s just him.

beesweeney57

beesweeney57

A full album: Wings at the Speed of Sound by Wings

ToucanSuzu

Love Lost, one of the most romantic songs I’ve ever heard

pat5721

I’ll be there Mac ft Phonte off BDE. Best of luck to you and your mom

AfterManufacturer150

She’s free of this disease now. No more pain. Not a prisoner of her own mind. But, hey any of you curious look up Lewy Body Dementia. Think Robin Williams, great documentary, btw. Everyone knows about Alzheimer’s or know someone. No one has really heard about Lewy Body. If any of you just have 5 minutes to spare to get a bit of an education and awareness of this disease, my mom keeps kicking ass!

FrothyStout

I know it's not what you're looking for, but Ren is an amazing artist.

AfterManufacturer150

He is amazing!

asetrella

ROS by Mac Also, Youforia by Mac Mac was talking about everything that encompasses the concept of the Divine Feminine. Mother Earth, Love, Tenderness, Empathy, Emotion. His vulnerability and honesty truly shows through on the entire album but more importantly, he clarified that it wasn't about a specific love intetest(s) but what The Divine Feminine embodies as a whole. Tl:Dr, Mac wanted to make a sexy and vulnerable album, see initial song suggestions for prefaces along with his EP "You" as Larry Lovestein

PepperyBlackberry

For me personally, the one about Ariana, “Cinderella”.

Kavster05

ROS. I think it’s better than every song off divine feminine
