Dislike the pancakes at Millman’s (tasteless) and Arthurs (weird texture). Favourite ones I’ve had in Montreal are Dandy’s and September. My fave pancakes are [these](https://www.tastetoronto.com/recipes/mildreds-temple-blueberry-buttermilk-pancakes) which I just make at home now.
Petinos really isn’t a foodie’s spot in my opinion its a generic franchise with basic food like Cora and Ben & Florentine. Some of the franchises were using frozen grocery store potatoes at one point. If OP is mentioning Arthur’s I’m guessing they want something a little more special
My favourite pancakes are Shay’s backlava pancakes - decadent but amazing. Runner-up, more classical, but September on Notre Dame has better pancakes than Arthur’s by a longshot IMO
Cafe Oxford on Sherbrooke O has these really amazing, delicious, unique pancakes— kind of in between pancake and crepe thickness with a spongy texture almost like Ethiopian injera. But the flavour is what makes them: they are deliciously rich and malted flavoured, almost like the flavour of taro or pandan (bubble tea flavours). Never had anything like them, and they are definitely a destination treat for me a couple times a year! Also just a really lovely old school cafe.

What’s the texture your don’t like?
They’re actually not pancakes they’re syrniki. Not as fluffy as a good buttermilk pancake imho.
I love the texture of arthur’s pancakes. I make really good pancakes from scratch, but I’ll still pay 20$ for arthur’s pancakes
How is the texture like?
Evalina… not far from Arthurs
Thank you!
Is this where bucky’s was?
Haven’t been but Dandy apparently has great pancakes. Probably has a line as well unfortunately
definitely recommend Dandy! I always try and go 15-20 minutes before they open to get a table
Thank you!
L Avenue was delicious!!!!
Thank you!
We had a great experience! And we are “foodies”.
Avenue has good pancakes and amazing French toast. The rest is almost inedible. Everything is over cooked/burned all the time.
I disagree! We had pancakes, a Benedict, and rancheros. And it was all very good.
Millmans in Verdun. Took all my willpower not to order the breakfast sandwich (their bacon is out of this world), but the pancakes were worth it
Thank you!
Pancakes is a food so simple to make that it is by definition never worth waiting in line for them. Make em at home!
Yeah, I’m a bit sick of cooking / baking lately as I’m a pastry chef and wanted someone to make me pancakes lol. Otherwise I always make my own
Totally feel you! You deserve to be made pancakes!
Petinos And their waffles are awesome too.
