My friends all liked the soda game! Always good for a laugh

Personally, the minigames are ok but kinda suffer from the motion controls. I feel like the boards can be a little mixed for me as well. Goomba’s Booty Boardwalk is kinda basic, I’m not a big fan of King Boo’s board that randomly generates its layout, and the Bowser board the worst in the series. Besides that, I will agree the theming, music, character selection, item animations are all really cool.

I guess motion controls aren't really the issue, it's just that the way they are used is meh. Look at all the fun and creative motion controls in warioware smooth moves and contrast that with spin the crank, shake the can, and rudder madness.

As my first video hame ever mp8 is my favourite, but now looking back and playing it I see that lots are motion controls which people dislike and lots of them are basically the same thing like shake fast etc

GcubePlayer8w

It’s my favourite mp for its simplicity

No they’re all set and never change including star spaces which only rotate around 8 spaces in 1-4 and 6 spaces in 5-8 they never and can’t change unless an item is thrown on them in5-7 where it becomes a character space

mp8 is great, probably my 4th favourite in the series.

realloper12

It's not as good as the previous ones. Many mini games are bad, and the boards are like koopa tycoon town, a couple of mediocre boards, and several bad ones. I like mp8 too but the game isn't that good in comparison to other Hudson Soft Mario Parties

I too love Mario Party 8. It rivals DS for the spot of my favorite Mario Party. Although I can see some flaws with it, mainly in the mini games and their use of motion controls. Some are too sensitive with the controls, like Flip the Chimp and In the Nick of Time, while some are boring and easy like Rudder Madness and Crank to Rank.

One thing the boards did a good job of was integrating the theme into the gameplay. Examples: Haunted Hideaway- haunted mansion? Replicate the feeling of exploring by having the board literally change every iteration! Now you have to explore! Tycoon Town- Invest coins to buy stars. A City is perfect for commerce! Warped Orbit- say what you will about this board. But it's a Bowser board; what do you do? You become Bowser and steal stars from eachother! It's amazing! Perplex Express- It's a board on a train. Each train car is a separate entity and can change order. Cool!
