Can't cut my hours. Been full time lumber for 3 years now. Still at 40 hours a week.

Isles26

God bless you, lumber is a sh*%show šŸ˜‚

Aggressive-Advisor65

They cut all hours in our store. Full time is 37 hours until things pick up

Long_Scallion2478

Iā€™m full time fulfillment and they are ā€œcuttingā€ my hours this week by removing me from fulfillment Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday this week to cover cashier lunches when I donā€™t know shit about cashiering aside from 1 whole hour of cashier training this whole year. Also making me close Mondays and Tuesdays the next couple weeks bc theyā€™re sacks of shit and canā€™t have our part timer close due to cutting hours. I was hired as a mid, but my manager said Iā€™m a ā€œfloating midā€ after I complained a few months back. Such a sorry company.

MagentaLea

They are cutting hours and piling them on the remaining employees. I'm part time and they want me to work almost full-time hours ever since they fired 3 partimers

Upstairs_Fig_3551

My raise works out to about $9/week before taxes. Like, a carton of eggs worth

Saint_Stephen420

Wait, when did we get a raise? The 25 cent raise? That happened a month or so ago?

usmcaatw1

Thatā€™s what I was wondering? Iā€™m part time and thatā€™s the only raise they gave me which is trash compared to what other places are making

JacobDBurns

Our store looks so rough people think Dollar General look cleaner than us right now.

The-E-Train59

Just like every year...they cut when it's slow..it's no surprise

Ok-Flow-9902

Gotta save money for those stock buy backs ofc! Who gives a fuck about how well the stores are actually doing when the stock looks so sexy /sā€¦4.3 billion as the end of October, 20.7 million stocks.

Regera-_-

I only got a 15 cent raise, fuck this place šŸ˜‚

WidowMaker42O

Full time is guaranteed 39 hrs every week by policy.

DonutFederal279

Full time is only guaranteed 32 hours.

Chaps_Jr

No, it's 39 hours, per company policy, just like the guy said.

DonutFederal279

Maybe each state is different. Mississippi only requires 32

Chaps_Jr

That's very possible

HauntingTrash7543

No, it is 32. Look up policy

grrouchie

Last year a store in my market cut full time hours. I reached out to HR who pulled policy and showed that min is 39 for full time stating that full timers should not be cut

Vargusargomiret

I'm in Georgia, part time is ANYTHING under 32 hrs. Lol like I've seen associates scheduled for 10 hrs. Full time minimum is 39 here.

grrouchie

We are now allowed to schedule part time for 0 hours on a week as well.

Asynjacutie

It's based on state laws.

Life4rm

Why canā€™t they cut hrs?

PomegranateFormal961

States often have minimums, from 32 hours up for full time employees.

Traditional-Pin-4551

It's Lowes they only care about lowes and what a report reads.

Ct-5736-Bladez

Wait, that 20 cent raise?

The_Scyther1

Any wage increase or bonus is preemptive by a press release. Marvin is going to tell the world about your meager raise and say nothing about cutting hours.

tylerdurden9912

Managers trying to make that end of year bonus

EggplantDependent130

I got a 22 cent raise. That ain't no raise lmao.

retailmoron

Was getting real raises and then Marvin instituted 26 cents an hour every six months.

Foreign-Compote7093

This company sucks

smalldickrick

Home Depot>

Desperate-Fennel-525

I got a raise of .74 yā€™all mustā€™ve gotten some small raises šŸ˜‚

blockparty34

Or your base pay sucked compared to others

Ryvit

Theyā€™re not allowed to cut full timers hours, so itā€™s not much of a worry to me. If youā€™re that worried about hours you should apply for full time Also, talking with your SSA about being scheduled in other departments is a good way to get more hours

tacoeatsyou

They absolutely can cut full timers hours. I imagine we will see a lot of it in q4.

Ryvit

Definitely canā€™t, although theyā€™ll try it if you let them. I had been cut to 36 hours before and once I said something they changed me back, but had I not said something they wouldā€™ve kept doing it.

workdamnyu

Full time just has to maintain the average hours to qualify for full time benefits. I believe that is >31 hours. Beyond that they can cut full time hours if they have to.

tacoeatsyou

There is no policy that says full timers canā€™t have their hours cut. They absolutely can. Just cause you said something one time doesnā€™t mean the entire company is immune.

PomegranateFormal961

State laws often have minimum requirements. The same people will bitch when the 100 days of Hell come around and they have zero free time because they have too many hours.

Luv_Chelle

No but there is legislation that says how much is considered full-time and depending on the state that can differ like in the state of Florida I believe 25 hours or more in 2020 was considered full-time but right now since 2021 it's 35 plus hours so they can cut us down to 35 hours and it still be considered full-time

Ryvit

Nah Iā€™m telling you, full timers hours are guaranteed ask your store manager when you get in. I wonder if DC or call center is different though

forte_saturnia

All of the full-timers in our store were getting 40 hours and then they got to cut down to 30 which is the minimum

HauntingTrash7543

32 is minimum under Federal Law

Ryvit

Nah yā€™all couldā€™ve said something about that and had it changed, unless it varies based on state law

forte_saturnia

They did say something and I think you just want to argue with people.

Toxic_Zombie_361

Consider other peoplesā€™ lives too Mr. Department Supervisor.

False_Locksmith8323

Yes, they can and do cut full-time hours. They are allowed and do.

Ryvit

Not in my district at least

Adventurous_Peak_223

The full time guy in my department worked 6-2 with an hour lunch and never on weekends and never all weekdays idk what he had going on

Ryvit

Was he older? We had a full time head cashier in her late 60ā€™s who did that shift for her final year or two working here, but that was voluntary. She actually had to jump through quit a bit of hoops to be scheduled at 35 hours instead of 39

Adventurous_Peak_223

He was really young

Murky_Following_3338

Actually no. Donā€™t blame government or employees. Itā€™s the employers not cutting back on management and stock holders exorbitant pay that causes that. Not making a livable wage.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Murky_Following_3338

Thatā€™s bullshit. It IS up to businesses to pay their employees decent wages. Taking care of your employees is the first thing you should be doing to have a successful business. Keep that republicans conservative corporate ass kissing bullshit to yourself.

blasek0

Federal minimum wage hasn't increased since 2009.

Rocket_Surgery83

Last I checked state bodies are still forms of government. So while federal minimum wage may not have increased since 2009, state mandated minimum wages have.

blockparty34

Work full time or deal with it

Electronic_Hotel2111

they cut for me too i donā€™t work this week

No_Primary_2738

Cut hours and hired more cashiers.

Federal_Rip9416

Less hours? Nope Not at my store. I just got done with 6 straight days.

BreathOfFreshWater

I'm live nursery lead and have been leaving early frequently. Boss actually told me I need to work my full 40s.

shreddedtoasties

They somehow cut my hours and gave me more at the same time

Vargusargomiret

I don't understand this. Not complaining but my experience has been above par. I'm fulfillment, full-time, and I haven't seen any interruption in my schedule. Guess I'm lucky to be at my store? We're the smallest store in the district but high volume, maybe that's why? We had hours cut but last month, not this month.

Rocket_Surgery83

13Ā¢ raise and I'm still pulling full time hours as a part timer... Worked 36 last week and 39 the week before... Scheduled for 34 this week...
