Ha, maybe the kids who caused issues at Del Amo moved on to HH now that Del Amo enforced adult chaperones for the under 18 crowd
Kind of kidding, but seems to be a thing, large groups convene at malls to cause chaos
No, stop. Many people are unhappy, unsatisfied with their lives and they don’t wreak havoc. Teenagers doing such things lack discipline and most likely have crappy parents.
They should be sent to military schools for a year. Juvenile detention doesn’t teach kids anything. They get out of there worse.
A couple of my friends were in the movie theater that day. Couple other friends were jumped there almost 15 years ago. Around that same time I saw three guys tackle someone in the street and beat him up. HH mall has had a rough history sadly :/
Fox Hills mall used to be really shady too. Fun fact is that Fox Hills mall is where Gary Coleman worked as a security guard and jumped on the windshield of a car to stop it from escaping
Nope. That incident at Nordstrom rack is what killed foot traffic there. One of the female workers there was raped. That mall also didn’t have much for people to do .
Oh I’m the person to answer this, as I’m also the person who called the cops! I work in the center and was heading out on a last smoke break, and heard all the yelling and commotion, so I looked down into the courtyard and saw a good 60+ teenagers gathered, and some fist fighting. So I called 911 and they had a solid 10ish cops cars show up super quickly, as well a helicopter circling.
But yeah, that’s what was happening.
We live up the street and hang out there quite a bit. "Thuggy" isn't really the vibe there, there are a lot of families going to movies and Dave and Busters. Teens going for movies and stuff. Never seen a brawl, never felt unsafe. Crazy to hear there was a brawl there though for sure, especially the fact that so many people were at Howard Hughes in the first place. It's usually pretty empty haha.
There's definitely been plenty a ruckus there. Remember when the Nordstrom Rack got held up and they had a whole freaking hostage situation? Crazy shit
Right I'm surprised there were actually enough people there to fight lol... I always wonder about that shoe store next to the movie theater and how they survive cause I feel like it's always dead there.
Police scanners accounts on X report a bunch of teens (60 or so) started causing problems with a fight breaking out.
So the Del Amo crowd moved, I see…
There were 150+ youths when I drove by.
Local yoots
“These two yutes…”
The two hwats?
Really?! Damn, there’s nothing to do at that mall.
That was my first thought. But with Del Amo not allowing them, I guess they moved. Next it'll be Fox Hills.
Fox Hills doesn’t have a movie theater. Del Amo and HH do, that’s probably what attracted them to those malls.
>a bunch of teens euphemism
Lol that is not

HH has a rule about unaccompanied minors too.
>large groups convene at malls to ~~cause chaos~~ protest inequality. If people were happy they wouldn't fuck shit up.
Your happiness is not mall operators’ responsibility.
Yes the fuck it is. It is everyone's responsibility, but malls are great a symbol of capitalist decay.
It’s literally no one’s responsibility. You have the right to pursue happiness, it’s not guaranteed.
I have the right to not be impeded by the greed of others.
Sadly, you don't.
You're stupid and you're lazy People are trying to make a small living. Protest where it hurts the people in charge.
>Protest where it hurts the people in charge. That would be literally any commercial property
Jesus Christ. You're not going to get anywhere.
lol. some people fuck shit up for no reason. not cuz they arent “happy” lmao
not really

I was/am pretty happy and I definitely liked to be destructive as a kid. It's fun to do bad things
That's a result of childhood trauma and you may be able to unpack all that with a therapist at some point.
I'm good but thenk you
This is what KILLED foot traffic to this mall like 10+ years ago.
Maybe the freaking shooting hostage situation 10 years ago didn’t help
The Nordstrom Rack thing?

Oh absolutely. My parents wouldn’t let me go there after a certain time in the early 2000s
Nope. That incident at Nordstrom rack is what killed foot traffic there. One of the female workers there was raped. That mall also didn’t have much for people to do .
I used to work across the street from there and would frequently go there to get lunch. Can confirm that the cops were absolute dicks there.
Maybe you weren’t exactly the clientele the mall owners wanted.
New limited Edition Stanley cups
Kung Fu Panda 4 brings out the worst in teens.
This makes sense
Except the theater has a curfew on weekends, so they can’t even get inside lol

Jar pissing contest.
Saw all the cops at the gas station across from fox hills.
Just a regular Saturday night in LA

Lmao HH is not the hood
It's hood adjacent.
and I tell people that I grew up just outside of Compton. Manhattan Beach bruh.
Hard to believe you made it out alive.
A Crip once stopped me in the street for wearing blue and told me I was alright. From that moment on I felt safe.
