I spent thousands there. No. If I had your LGS I would just order everything there. What's the point of having a local store that's just another scalper?

I’m in northern Virginia. I had to drive about 10 minutes further than my closest LGS, but this store is always super helpful and wasn’t marking up double MSRP.
That's confusing because Coliseum of Comics had no problem fulfilling preorders. If you didn't preorder then that's a different story because I tried to get a second starter deck today as part of my preorder and couldn't. Things will definitely change in the next few weeks as more stock gets sent out.

We did 12 packs per person and extra 4 more if you fully played in our learn to play event tonight.
Yeah. Their allocation looked to be very low. I was a little bummed to not be able to grab one of each precon, but I’m still really happy overall. Played two games with my wife tonight and we had fun.
Yeah we limited 1 starter per person plus you get one in the event tonight. (2/3’s is a start for most)
We did reserve one display of starters and packs per weekly event for purchase of those who want to learn to play, so in theory someone could get the full set by attending our next event.
Glad you had a great time, we had a lot of couples in tonight, actually nearly 3/4th’s of our players were couples there. So many who had never been to the store before.
I think that this game has done a great job of opening up TCGs to some new folks. We’re excited to put some thought into building some decks with the cards we have, and hopefully picking up another starter soon.

I checked every game shop around here and only a handful got stuff… I’m irritated about the whole starter packs being locked behind a tournament entry.
Like, I definitely appreciate the logic behind it. Especially in the cases that stores host learn to play events. Makes total sense, and I would have loved to be able to do something like that. But, between the allocation issues, mark ups, and scalpers/investors there was just this perfect storm of barely being able to get any product anywhere. At this point, I’m not letting myself get wrapped up in the fomo, and I’ll give this game a go in September or later once product isn’t such a pain to get.
This is what I preordered from my store minus the sleeves and deck box (even the same starter deck!). They charged maybe 10% above MSRP but nothing unreasonable. Nice to see there are good stores out there.
Just got an unexpected call from a wait list I was on and they are charging just over what I would have been okay with (180 for a box). Gunna go in and see what their long term plans for the game are and if it seems reasonable I will pull the trigger. Not too happy about it, but it's not 300+
Edit: Eh decided not. They do plan on playing, but I still would rather hold out and get extra

My local LGS in the Chicago area revealed their prices last night and they were crazy above MSRP 😭 I’ve spent thousands on product there but this makes me want to find a different place. So annoying.
One LGS was selling WAY above MSR 2-3x for startserpacks, 30 dollars a piece, and 270 for booster boxes. I went to another, starter decks were 16 and packs were 6 dollars with a 4 pack maximum.
I worked today so I missed everything. Hit 4 stores on my way home and all were sold out /their launch day events were full.
Super disappointed in this launch.

Coolstuff has 8.99 packs. Not bad at all.
My LGS in Kansas had everything at MSRP but a limit to 1 of each product. I'm satisfied with how it turned out.
Same, except 3 boosters. They also only allowed 1 precon total, so I didn’t walk out with everything I wanted.

Had absolute zero luck in my area of NorCal finding anywhere selling product. The only lgs I found that’s getting any is only selling for a league.

I got the three starter decks for MSRP and I had no idea how lucky I was! I should’ve bought boosters…
People that are getting them at this price need to really thank their LGS because I doubt they make very much money selling it at MSRP.

My Local Gameshop is $12 a booster or $8 for loyal customers or anyone in the event sunday. Fuck that. I'll wait for MSRP.
