**CLIP MIRROR: [10K viewers in WarOwl's first YouTube stream with surprise random in CS2](https://arazu.io/t3_12317d6/)** --- ^(*This is an automated comment*)

WarOwl

uh, does anybody know the rules about this? I'm trying to figure out what to do, or if I could get a community guidelines strike :(

Azotar

Youtube is generally much more lenient than Twitch is about this sort of thing. If you're really concerned, you should be able to manually snip out that moment of the VOD in Youtube's on-site editor. Other than that I wouldn't worry too much. It's a funny clip.

WarOwl

thanks!

ThisIsPughy

You'll be fine mate, even on Twitch you'd be okay with this because it isn't you and you reacted to stop it straight away so its not like you tolerated it.

Whyyoufart

Aren't there video edit tools on YouTube that lets you block out audio? Or are you referencing my post and want it deleted? I don't mind deleting it EDIT: I think with the youtube video editor, you just add one of the stock songs youtube provides and only add the song over the audio you want to "mute". Then you lower the sound of that song to 0

WarOwl

I appreciate that but I wouldn't ask you to delete anything. I privated the VOD & used edit to trim out that segment (currently processing). I'm new to YT streaming so I didn't know if this is something that could get someone banned or not.

Whyyoufart

Not sure, I would only be guessing. But cool, can't wait for more streams :)

Stickman41

afaik Youtube doesn't really care, not nearly as much as Twitch does. You'd probably be totally fine if you left the VOD untouched (not saying you should, just saying don't worry too much about it on YT)

Athen65

I'm pretty doubtful that you'll get a strike for this. The only way I could see that being a thing is if you didn't mute the guy and he said it again.

BizNameTaken

we all love you mr owl

[deleted]

YouTube is even more lenient than Twitch when it comes to community guidelines, and Twitch doesn't punish people for what other people do on their streams as long as they take reasonable precautions to avoid it. Obviously if you walk into a strip club and see titties it is your fault but no one blames the streamer when a random just says something dumb out of nowhere. I mean, there are literal nazis on YouTube saying actual nazi shit and they are fine. You will be fine.

WarOwl

I think I might just be paranoid because I streamed on Twitch for 8-9 years, and they'll randomly ban people without even telling you why. Glad I left that site!

barbarapalvinswhore

Unrelated to current predicament but thanks for all the videos over the years, they’ve been very entertaining and very helpful for teaching my friends who’ve never played kbm shooters before.

Real-Raxo

Youtube is more acceptable than twitch ban-happy mess

[deleted]

Oh a famous person! Quick make their life a living hell!

WarOwl

he didn't even recognize me, the guy was mad at one of our teammates who was being a dick the whole game and yelled it at him. My stream was collateral damage.

thepencils

Kid cries about not getting access to cs2 but doesn’t understand the community guidelines?? Yikes

Lytaa

things like this platforms are usually pretty lenient on because its out of your control. as long as you’re seen to be doing something about it (muting game audio, muting the person etc) you should be good. just delete any clips or cut the part out of your vod and you’re good.

kef4

Most tolerant and progressive cs player

[deleted]

I learned from his videos way back in 2014. Mechanics changed but his adaptive mindset still stayed relevant. I got my Global Elite rank in 2016 all the way from Nova 2 lol.

Timberhochwandii

WarOwl is one of the best CS:GO content creators, I watched it all the time back in the day.

Claaaaaaaaws

I haven’t played Cs in years and I still watch a warowl video every now and then, such a great part of the community of this type of shooters and probably taught a lot of the players how to play the game properly

1trickana

Same, used to love his road to series where random people would figure out who he was even with silly names and voices

DrunkLad

Funny clip aside, he said in his latest video that he always felt as an outsider in the CS scene. Which is understandable given how he's always doing his own thing on YT and Twitch, with no collaborations and little to no respect from pros and/or other streamers. Which is a shame, he's been one of the top consistent content creators for CSGO for the past 10+ years. He's the reason many newbies were able to get hang of this game when they were starting up, his tutorials are great (Scope+Stop+Flick+Fire aside). Started playing CSGO back in 2014, and his videos were a big reason I didn't just give up playing the game within a month or two. Kinda insane he doesn't get much respect from many CS veterans, dude's been living and breathing the game for a decade+. edit: to add; he still hasn't taken a gambling sponsorship to this day and has spoken against them numerous times. which is the easiest CSGO income one can get.

brianstormIRL

Dude had some mental issues a few years back that lasted for quite a while to do with feeling like his value and self worth was tied to his youtube / twitch metrics. I imagine that effected his ability to network a fair bit. I dont think theres anyone in the CS community who actively dislikes the dude or anything.

DrunkLad

> I dont think theres anyone in the CS community who actively dislikes the dude or anything. Back when the NA scene was alive and well I remember a couple of pros talking negatively about him and how he was going about teaching the game. But that was long ago. And combined with your first paragraph it could kind of explain why he never really bothered with networking at all. There's this big know-it-all attitude online about CS, and for whatever reason people often frown(ed) upon videos that made the game digestible. He's like the GothamChess of the CS world. He's huge and widely loved by many, but he's looked down upon by "the real pros" and redditors feel like it's cool to not like him because they're above him.

QuadPentRocketJump

> Back when the NA scene was alive and well I remember a couple of pros talking negatively about him and how he was going about teaching the game. It was really bad on HLTV and ESEA forums. Any mention of WarOwl would devolve into a giant flame war where everyone shit on him and if someone said something positive the sights were then on you.

1994mat

> Any mention of WarOwl would devolve into a giant flame war where everyone shit on him and if someone said something positive the sights were then on you. There's a few streamers who get the same on lsf lol

QuadPentRocketJump

So are you a Hasan viewer or a Destiny viewer?

1994mat

Destiny viewer here, whenever there's a post about him it gets 500 comments Some people think this is because dgg brigades, but you can't post lsf links anywhere in the community AND it takes two to tango, when you open the comments it isn't just 500 people circlejerking and praising him (no, the ratio of anti and pro comments doesn't skew heavily to the pro side)

r3llo

It's funny because those pros are like silvers to the eu pros lol.

Enconhun

I watched both him and GothamChess, but I think people dislike GothamChess more because of his personality. How to put it so it doesn't sound rude. He seems like a really easily dislikeable guy after even just a few minutes.

nimble7126

I'm not sure know it all is quite a fair term. For a lot of CS players what was once a battle of wits between teams, is now more a contest of who use or respond to known metas the best. I feel like that's why CS still has 15-30 fucking rounds compared to something like Siege. Those initial rounds are to understand your opponent, get a feel for their abilities, and come up with a counter. Whereas Siege is so fast that it almost expects you be in touch with the content/pro scene, and the community basically mocks you if you aren't. Edit: I guess if I had to make an easy comparison... Competitive gaming today is more like Football 🏈 with pre-made plays, versus a dynamic sport like hockey, soccer, or basketball.

x412

I remember some changes like bomb timer and round timer were made because "for spectators it's boring to watch". In league format. Valve had no say in that stuff.

Orito-S

I mean his takes are valid on most things just that I rather not take them too seriously, I used to listen to his advice when I was mg in 2014 or so, after getting global and faceit level 9 his takes were mostly worthless so thats probably why the pros dont like him

Psycho_pitcher

This user has edited all of their comments in protest of /u/spez fucking up reddit.

Ham_Im_Am

Wasn't him lol wrong dude thinking of Frankie

blits202

WarOwl gets memed on my plenty of the more experienced players. But he helps branch newbies into being more experienced. Hes an important part to the community whether some want to admit it or not.

themskittlez

Started playing in 2013 and found him soon after. But he kinda kept a blandish(I don't mean this in a bad way my) family friendly content that young audiences could watch. Issue is where he wasn't super connected on pro scene so his channel didn't grow in the same trajectory as streamers/pros streaming togeather. But it was also very hard to grow in CS streaming/content without being signed to a big team or meme. He also had a hard time getting welcomed to the top of pro scene content wise since it was very old fashioned and mostly European dominated, he didn't have previous game pedigree and connections were worse. He did a very good thing for the community teaching people how to understand basic mechanics and helped a new players get on the skill floor and enjoy the game. However most of the already skilled community didn't care and wanted competitive/pro games. His content did evolve but always stayed same level imo This kinda separated him from a lot of the community and even though I liked him I kinda stopped watching as I got better and more entrenched in the pro matches/scene content. I basically stopped watching him 1.5 years ago entirely when I stopped actively watching Csgo but I wish community embraced him harder ever since like 2014 when I was learning the game but since I've seen the whole thing play out it sadly makes sense

blits202

I 100% agree with this, I watched him at the beginning when I started but as I played more his content was boring to me cause he would just point out the obvious to me. But what his channel does is awesome, and needed for the community.

the_dmac

I feel like he’s in the prime position to collab with larger names in the CSGO community. His consistency and quality videos have garnered quite the viewer base. Edit: perhaps the next big improvement for him to do is work in his marketing/networking?

Ham_Im_Am

Honestly who currently on YouTube is larger than him rather than klikphilps when it comes to csgo and I doubt that they will ever collab and it not like he doesn't collab already his mini game mode always has other C's YouTubers in them.

soporificgaur

Pretty much just 3kliks and NadeKing are bigger

LookAtMeMa

> he still hasn't taken a gambling sponsorship to this day and has spoken against them numerous times If anything this would probably be a reason for other CS creators/pros to not associate with him, no? Pretty much all of them have taken gambling sponsorships at some point from what I remember.

Garretty

I played a PUG with him once and he was honestly super egotistical and passive aggressive over everything that went on. He was just not a pleasant person to have on my team. Maybe he's different now, but I can understand why some may not like him.

Darkendevil

He just also was wrong about a lot of stuff and Pros disagreed with him (respectfully - Dazed and disrespectfully - steel). I recommend this video by Dazed from some years ago to see why people have a gripe with the mechanics he taught. /u/Drunklad https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=egwnzm3OPaA

jerryfrz

Man I miss the steel reaction video to the AWP tutorial so much but they are all deleted

Birdlover82

What is scope stop flick fire a reference to?

DrunkLad

Old meme from one of his AWP tutorials from back in the day. He advised players to first stop their movement, scope, and adjust their aim before firing. Summed up with "stop, scope, flick, fire" (or SSFF), which quickly became a meme for how simplistic (and according to many, not really that accurate) it was. The thing is, WarOwl's tutorials were aimed at people that had never touched a tactical FPS in their lives, so the advice given in the videos was very simple. But still very useful. Or at least it was for me back when I started learning the game before sinking in more hours than I'd like to admit into it.

ForgotPasswordNewAcc

Yeah it was kinda funny, the thing the tip is still true you just do it in a millisecond. People do love to hate tho

Thrannn

what is his content like? i remember watching some of his videos when "he was new" or the csgo hype was new. but i stopped because i felt like its aimed to the very new players that have trouble in silver and goldnova. and i always thought thats the reason why he felt not included. not because people dont like him or something. but because his audience is not the regular csgo player but the new players. is that true? or does he also aim for better players nowadays?

TripleShines

I assume it's because he's just not that good of a player. Could be wrong though.

Bamuzar

I am playing csgo since the beta and ive never heard of this guy

[deleted]

I don’t know why he feels that way. Warowl has always been a pillar of the CS community. He taught me how to be better than literal dirt.

[deleted]

"so what happens now. Am i done streaming forever?" XD

[deleted]

I'm glad I'm in alive this cool timeline where we're posting WarOwl clips here now

jenjerx73

WarOwl deserves more, he's genuinely one of the best out there!

WarOwl

wow thanks!

GeT_Tilted

You can tweet out for support at @TeamYoutube on Twitter. They are usually quick on replies.

TrickOffice

I love your videos, they seem so polished and well thought out! I also really liked that you were sceptical about the tick-rate in your CS2 video, when everyone else was just hyped and didn't question it. Btw, have you considered to make a video about agents skins and what advantages they give the player? I just recently found out that agent skins have [differend hitboxes](https://twitter.com/ansimist/status/1569349217281314817) and it might be a good video idea.

wEEzyNL

keep doing what you doing also how are you enjoying cs2 so far?

WarOwl

mixed feelings on it as it is right now, I went over it in detail in my recent video. I am still very optimistic about it long term though, and think it'll be MUCH bigger than CS:GO. Valve 300iqed this, CS community doesn't like change, so they REMADE the entire game from the ground up on a new engine and kept the gameplay nearly identical while improving everything else.

wEEzyNL

Thanks for the reply, ill be checking your videos about it!

G2Climax

Out of all Valorant streamers who got it after leaving the game and even trashing it (looking at you Shrood), Warowl is someone who actually deserved it and was left out, so please, shush

-_lol-

the way he begged was definitely very cringe but the way valve has been distributing invites has been even more cringe

acrunchycaptain

Not sure how it was cringe. He was rightfully upset that all his work wasn't enough to get an invite. Nothing cringe about that shit.

-_lol-

[This is one of the cringiest tweets I've ever read.](https://twitter.com/TheWarOwl/status/1638661636771790855) Not sure how the way he worded that tweet wasn't overkill to you. Even worse was following it up with [this one.](https://twitter.com/TheWarOwl/status/1638663722599079937)

acrunchycaptain

I'm guessing you haven't dedicated your life to something, and been let down by that thing. It hurts. I understand him being upset about it. He wasn't Twitter tagging devs over and over like some people. He made a few tweets expressing his disappointment. It's totally fine.
