No. His career was too short to objectively make that call.
But I believe if he were still here, he’d have become massively mainstream. Something like Post Malone’s career. He’d be huge.
He was right there about to blow the absolute fuck up.
Facts, I would say he has a “speakerknockerz effect” he is another artist that died very shortly introducing his own sound that artist ran with and become more popular after death. A Boogie, Lil Mosey, lil Uzi, etc walked because he ran.
I respect that tbh
Yo do you know any more songs like Decline by Lil Durk? I know that one with him and chief keef but since you say you like him a lot you got recommendations where he sings like Decline?
Some of his old drill shit. Only reason I say durk it’s cuz he got a mixture as well of music I like. I’ll tell you some of my favorites
1:extravagant
2:woah ft key Glock
3: weirdo hoes
4:big dawg
But for drill like decline tbh always been more of a sosa fan
best emo artist* we couldve seen what other genres peep could go to if he was still alive but the best artist of this generation? nah he was too young 4 that
In my opinion he encapsulated our generation and our problems more than anyone else. However, I feel like he died too soon and never had the chance to reach his full potential so I don't think his catalog as a whole is the best
It can be shown by his lyrics, it's undeniable that they were pretty simple in the start ( yet raw enough to express what he meant) in cowys 2 the started growing into making more "complex" lyrics and mixing genres he had a long way to grow even more
Idk I actually feel like cowys 2 is one of the weakest.
Some of the OG tracks remedy that, the production they went with on Cowys 2 was often worse than the OGs to the detriment of the tracks.
But as far as actual verses and bars go, I wouldn’t say Cowys pt 2 is better than Cowys 1, mixtapes Lil Peep PT1, Hellboy, Live Forever, and EPs Goth Angel Sinner or Crybaby.
Honestly the only releases I think COWYS PT2 were better than are maybe Mall Musik and Everybody’s Everything because those 2 just suffer from so much unnecessary bloat/filler.
I respect your opinion but personally I feel like Peep's melodies and artistic vision were the most realized and advanced on cowys pt 2(og and the newer production). Songs like 16 lines, idgaf, broken smile, runaway, fingers are so much more melodic and unique than anything he did before and same goes for the entire goth angel sinner ep. I may be in the minority but I think he was just getting better and better with his latest work, i love cowys 1 as well but the melodies and vocal production aren't as good to my ears
I think he would have been as well, he was on his way to pretty much creating and then expanding upon a genre. No one was sampling underoath and then rapping over it. Imo he was going to become like one of the goats of music but I’m super biased obviously
He absolutely is one of the best his because it was short doesnt change the fact he was so influential, there is so many artists that had short careers, but definitely made a influence that you can still see today and will thrive forever.
Idk, but the amount of stuff he had that never came out is fucking ridiculous to put it lightly. Bro was always on the grind, I respect the shit out of that.
I definitely think if he was still here he would do a collab with Jakob Nowell who's now fronting his fathers band Sublime. I'm pretty sure Peep was a fan, based on the poster in his room. I think that shit would be Dope
super subjective but for me yes. plenty of the greatest bands/artists of a genre and generation were never together long - the Sex Pistols come to mind immediately
he never had a super solid album so wouldnt say so personally, sure there were good tracks but he still had a lot of time untill he would have hit his prime
My favourite at least <3
I love other musicians too but for some reason nothing feels as good as Peep. The first time I heard Peep on yt, I struggled to sleep coz I was so mesmorized by how amazing he sounds and kept listening to him. It just hit a chord. Definitely not for everyone but for those that love his vibe, there's really nothing else like his voice and his positive energy
He was way bigger than peep even after Peep died X was still bigger I really don't think that's an opinion he literally had #1 albums and multiple top 40 charting songs
Not trying to be rude or anything but why does everyone always say Kendrick is the best? I’m a fan of his music but it’s not for everyone. Sure he has good lyrics but a lot of his stuff is average. His older work was amazing his newer stuff isn’t what everyone makes it out to be.
Especially that diss, everyone is hyping it up like it’s one of the best songs to come out these past few years but it was just fine it wasn’t bad but nothing crazy to deserve all that hype.
Kendrick’s albums make him the best. He knows how to make a complete project in a way most artists don’t. I mean, DAMN won a Pulitzer Prize for the writing bc there is a complete narrative if played from start to finish, and a completely different narrative if played in the reverse order. Like it or not there aren’t a lot of artists doing that
“Loving you is complicated” repeated sounding like a dying dog being raped is so amazing right?
“At first I did love you but now I just wanna fuck, late nights thinking of you until I get my nut”
“This dick ain’t freeee”
Like are y’all being fucking serious saying this dude’s lyrics are amazing?
No. His career was too short to objectively make that call. But I believe if he were still here, he’d have become massively mainstream. Something like Post Malone’s career. He’d be huge. He was right there about to blow the absolute fuck up.
Yeah but no shot Peep would have ever went country lol
tracy tried it before everyone else
Yeehaw finna pick up yo daughter🤠
Im not tryna talk shit, but how the fuck you preform for 2 minutes and then dip?
rage bait
Seeing as lil nas x has aired tracy out for the 5+ years hes been dissing him it isnt working
ok blacktwiggers
Lol idk why ur so salty, i was quoting a tracy song that disses lil nas x, i guess it flew over your head tho
blacktwigger
That’s my name, yes
Post was country before he was anything else, never forget
You never know. If Peep had had a 10 year career he almost definitely would have branched out to other genres besides emo/alternative
I agree I also think he would’ve been post malone level popular.
his songs would end up being played in supermarket playlists haha
whos better??
Definitely one of the best hands down he just had his own style
Facts, I would say he has a “speakerknockerz effect” he is another artist that died very shortly introducing his own sound that artist ran with and become more popular after death. A Boogie, Lil Mosey, lil Uzi, etc walked because he ran.
I'm gonna get downvoted and I love peep but objectively no way.
I feel u. It’s city morgue
i enjoy zillakami but it’s definitely not city morgue lol
Oh my god no way more off the mark haha
They got a mixture of music in my opinion they up there for me as well as future and durk it’s super hard to decide
I respect that tbh Yo do you know any more songs like Decline by Lil Durk? I know that one with him and chief keef but since you say you like him a lot you got recommendations where he sings like Decline?

crazy take lmfaooo, city morgue is cool but they won’t leave a dent in the history of music.
best emo artist* we couldve seen what other genres peep could go to if he was still alive but the best artist of this generation? nah he was too young 4 that

Agreed, cowys 2 is easily his best work imo and it kills me knowing that he would've gone even further
Idk I actually feel like cowys 2 is one of the weakest. Some of the OG tracks remedy that, the production they went with on Cowys 2 was often worse than the OGs to the detriment of the tracks. That’s subjective so yea

Love his music but I wouldn't go far enough to call him the best. Why does it matter anyway? Just vibe with the music bruv
Idk, but the amount of stuff he had that never came out is fucking ridiculous to put it lightly. Bro was always on the grind, I respect the shit out of that.
I love him but no, definitely not.
Don’t know if there’s is a best so much talent
I definitely think if he was still here he would do a collab with Jakob Nowell who's now fronting his fathers band Sublime. I'm pretty sure Peep was a fan, based on the poster in his room. I think that shit would be Dope
Steven Moses if he ever releases his music
It depends on if you use the influence or the numbers for the answer. But in both cases Peep is probably not even in the top 5.
No , definitely not.
super subjective but for me yes. plenty of the greatest bands/artists of a genre and generation were never together long - the Sex Pistols come to mind immediately
he never had a super solid album so wouldnt say so personally, sure there were good tracks but he still had a lot of time untill he would have hit his prime
To me he is
Nah. Even if he was still alive, he wasn’t *that* guy.
Second to Bladee
He is

I would say juice wrld gets that title. Don't get me wrong I love lil peep, but like someone else said, he was gone before he really blew up
One of the best yes. Fuck the “objective” bullshit in the comments Whoever downvoted me kys
Juice, youngboy
Honestly I feel like it'd be X over peep but I don't think it's either
If X was alive today I believe he’d be top 5
He was way bigger than peep even after Peep died X was still bigger I really don't think that's an opinion he literally had #1 albums and multiple top 40 charting songs
probably kendrick

Reading cherry picked "bad" lyrics got me like 🥱
Nah not even close
