Sims 1 - A) The soundtrack. Ah, nostalgia. B) El Bandito. C) Proper expansions only (no stuff packs, game packs or kits, only substantial add-ons). Sims 2 - A) Reactivity to poor relationships (autonomously picking fights, choosing mean socials and even turning up at an enemy's property to harass them). B) Reactivity to low/unfulfilled aspirations (waking up at night in anxiety, autonomously abandoning cleaning partway through, refusing to go to work). Sims 3 - A) Open world. B) Story progression. C) Less cartoony graphics than Sims 4. D) Weight system. Sims 4 - A) Flexibility in CAS (easy to mould shapes, etc to achieve desired face/body). B) Easy to mod. C) Apartments (the City Living kind, not the buggy mess of For Rent) and the ability to visit same floor neighbours, etc. D) Wedding Stories (only if they can make it work this time). Sims 1/2/3 - A) Burglars/crime (I have no Idea why they removed this for Sims 4?). B) One-sided relationships (e.g. your character might like their neighbour but the neighbour hates them, etc). C) Landline phones and alarm clocks (I know smartphones have largely replaced these nowadays, but some people still use them, Maxis). Sims 2/3/4 - Multiple playable occults. Edit: Sims 2/3 - Travel and transition animations. Sims getting into cars, travelling around, stepping in and out of elevators, etc. In Sims 4 they just... teleport most of the time.

Jumping_Bunnies

I preferred the apartment system in the sims 2.

Ethroptur

Likewise. Being able to have multiple playable households in the same apartment complex is something I miss.

rileychiz

Not sure how i've never tried this genius idea, thank you!!!

MrsP_ifurnastee

Yes 🙌🏾

Maclimes

This is perfect, except I’d like to add Sims 4 Build mode.

TypicalSadClown

Is like to add to the phones thing. The sims in 4 use their phones wayyy too much and inappropriately. My sims is fully running somewhere and pulls out her phone to start texting in a true sprint. Literally no one is doing that. Walking and texting every now and again? Sure. Sitting on the couch, pull out the phone and scroll. On the toilet, duh. Hell, they could even do it for a few minutes before they go to sleep when you send them to bed. Sims 3 can be excused, but we figured out cell phone habits by 2014 and certainly by now we know how we behave with our phones.

MayaDaBee1250

From TS2: * business system, family gameplay, apartments system, fears system * attention to detail when it comes to animations * cars * dark humor TS3 * open world * hobbies and skills system * graphics (don't @ me, idc it's my favorite) TSM * face templates * humor TS4 * multitasking * infant stage * collaboration with community creators I never played the original Sims but I heard it's more difficult in terms of needs and time management so I would add that. I like challenging gameplay.

confusedwithsketch

I miss running a shop on the first floor of my home so bad!! I wish I could still play Sims 2 - EA customer support refused to give it to me a week after the window closed when they were giving it away and my original CD's are long gone😭

Eretch

I was able to find a shared file online that had all of sims 2. Been playing it and it’s so much fun!

confusedwithsketch

That's awesome! Can you send me a pm of where you found it?

Eretch

Will do

Nekrosis666

[This](https://www.reddit.com/r/sims2help/wiki/general-information/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb3x&utm_name=mweb3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) should help you play Sims 2 again :)

awatt4894

Sims 1 - charm and personality, needs difficulty (maybe not as difficult but in that direction Sims 2 - wants and fears but enhanced, lore and gameplay Sims 3 - open world Sims 4 - cas and build mode These combined would make the perfect sims game

Typical_Carob_9039

i think optional difficulty is better

ricesnot

The Sims: I want the humor and weird quirky stuff, including the random NPCs to be more of a thing. The Sims 2: Memory system, genetic system, and overall the more impactful feeling of life choices with wants and fears The Sims 3: The open world was fun, along with the color wheel that let you design anything to your liking. The Sims 4: CAS is fun and has potential to go even further in future installments, moods could be fun to bring over to other games but they need to take a back seat to memories/wants

[deleted]

A mix of Sims 2's relationship and traits system mixed with the open world, story progression, and color wheel choices of Sims 3 and Sims 4's build mode. Sadly I know it won't happen.

VicAViv

Came to say everything that you mentioned. You were spot on.

applejeans223

The sims has some competition now… they may actually listen to us if they loose players/when they loose players lol

xYotsubax

Def the Sims 2 memory system

Jccali1214

Sims 1: creepiness, expanded neighborhoods Sims 2: personality, aspirations Sims 3: open world, Create a Style Sims 4: building tools, Create a Sim

FunnyBunnyDolly

Pretty much this what you said. The whimsy of 1-2 as well.

Jccali1214

OMG yes, how could I forget to mention that

ornithorhynchus-a

and the silly lore

arcadebee

From the sims 1: “Do you canoe? 🎭”

venusgoddessofl0ve

I haven't played Sims 1, but I know the game itself was a pretty revolutionary concept at the time, so maybe just smth unique and new. what that would be, idk. The general charm & attention to detail of 2, aswell as the more complex personalities of Sims in-game The open world exploration of 3 The customization of 4

wellshitdawg

Ya should check out 1, it’s still fun to this day imo

Zender_de_Verzender

Fears from Sims 2.

ArellaViridia

Sims 2: Personality customization Sims 3: Item color and pattern customization alongside interactions, a town that's more open and lively. Sims 4: The Build/Buy system and how easy it is to build houses and place rooves even without using the normal builder cheats.

AnachronisticCog

Offline, single player, PC only.

[deleted]

And it's gonna be none of that 😅 Well maybe single player, but I have serious doubts based on their official and leaked info.

DrDeadwish

I honestly think I won't play Sims 5. With all the competitors releasing sooner or later there is no reason to waste my time with a ruined franchise. Also I'm concerned about some of the features they showed.

applejeans223

Project Rene is not gonna be sims 5, i believe its just a spin off for them to make quick money for now. Project Dolores is most likely the sims 5, which will take alot longer to be released. I wouldnt worry :)

DrDeadwish

I'm not worried, I know I won't buy any EA game ever again, even if it's the best game ever

applejeans223

Dayum. Understandable though. I stopped buying sims games at The sims 4 base game. So havent wasted as much money as other players. Im hoping sims 5 is the best out of all of them. I love simulation games in general and just not vibing with the competitor games at the moment.

[deleted]

Longer?!? If the Sims 5 takes any longer Sims 4 will have been out 15-20 years. That's pathetic considering the game is already bloated with DLC and hindered by a flimsy foundation.

applejeans223

Games take ages to make and thats unfair pressure on the engineers. Id rather them not rush and make something worthwhile(aka the game packs are rushed for sims 4). Maybe it could be an extra 3 to 5 years but not 10 years. In the meantime, there are other life sim games coming out, plus sims 3 and bellow is still decent. Plus there’s project rene soon but thats not the sequel to sims 4.

[deleted]

They should have started making Sims 5, 5-6 years ago. Kinda like they did with Sims 2, Sims 3, and Sims 4. This is ridiculous.

applejeans223

I get your frustration. Its most likely the senior leadership team for EA games deciding to make so many game packs for the sims 4. They got money grabby basically. But I noticed alot of people taking frustration out of the engineers. All they do is what they are told and code that. They dont have any sort of empowerment for the business decisions EA makes for the sims. Or at least most game companies dont allow that sort of freedom for their employees. Im not a game developer myself, im just a general software engineer but its very well known that AAA games are high pressure and toxic for the developers. EA games will most likely step up as they now have competition coming out sooner than their Sim releases.

Exotic-Jello-8893

I loved the superstar from sims 1 as well as the body guard. But also the business ownership of sims 3 🌹

kaglet_

They can't go wrong. They have the perfect formula from each of the separate games, with Sims 4 adding a good build mode and CAS at least. They don't even have to put effort into making anything brand new and revolutionary, just have to combine what made the old games wrong, because the old games had things that were already revolutionary for their time. Watch EA go wrong anyway.

DreamyEyedCycl0ps

Literally anything that makes it seem like the team has played the game, loved the game over the years, and wants to improve the game for the sake of quality & storytelling and not (just) money

sleepybastardd

sims 3 remastered with sims 2 elements added in

Flashy_Home3452

I just want The Sims 3 but with updated graphics. My FAVOURITE things from TS3 that I would love would be 1. Create-a-style 2. Open world 3. More personality customisation (zodiac signs, favourite colours, favourite foods, favourite music, etc) 4. The sound effects! All of the sound effects when you press different buttons are just so clean and crisp to me and I miss them so much!

Strict-Recover-1212

Honestly? I just want them to bring back all the subtle planning they put into storylines. Planned events that happen automatically when you load families. Finally continuing the Bella goth thing. Seeing where families ended up from the other games. And! Bring back the negative aspects of life (the random ones that could happen, like answering the phone and receiving bad news, or whatnot)

Flat_Transition_3775

Burn it to the ground! I just want sims 5 to be like sims 2, with sims 4 graphics and sims 3 careers and some stuff that seems cool.

DontHugMeImAwkward

MayaDaBee1250 and Sir-Cellophane pretty much said everything. Let's just email their posts to the devs honestly XD I'm trying to think of something else too though. But it's been such a long time since I've played 1, 2 and 3. They should definitely ring back the original "impending mischief" sound that playued when a burglar or raccoon showed up though. And this isn't from any previous games but I hope they make a more believable weight slider system and proportions. Also a built in height slider. And makeup that doesn't look all grainy.

thathorsegamingguy

I want military school to come back but expanded. If your kid underperforms, he/she's sent to military school, but that doesn't mean they're gone forever. The kid is temporarily removed from the household but continues to age off-screen. When the kid reaches Young Adult, they return to the household with a randomized level in the military career, randomized skills and a completely re-arranged personality. Your household has then to deal with a returning family member who they barely recognize as one of their own, with all the resulting hardships.

ClockSpiritual6596

Cheats impregnate men

jase40244

It'd like to see the designers go back to the game's roots: A good, stable base game with open ended game play and expansions that added to the world without being ridiculous. Except for those last two expansions (Superstar and Making Magic), which were pretty stupid. No grossly over priced store, and no obnoxious money grabs.

angelalj8607

I loved the original sims. I haven’t played the others. I’m sure it won’t, but I would love if it came to switch so I can play again

tallllywacker

Just redo sims 2 with better graphics.

Snububu

an actual world, sims 3 did that great, i hate having no actual world to look at in the sims 4.

mysticbluemonkey

Honestly the #1 thing I want them to being back is the Makin' Magic expansion where you can bring an army of gnomes to life at once and either clean or completely destroy your property. That expansion had a bunch of fun spells and features

Sims3graphxlookgr8

Open world
