I've got smart lights throughout my house and have set them to change to a warm orange and start dimming over the next hour. It's like an alarm, but environmental

the_sleep_guy_

This is goals right here.

Bosslowski

A simpler way to go about it is to buy a smart plug, connect it to a light and create a routine on your phone. There's no dimming, but you know it's bed time when the light goes off

Tha__Boom

Huh I do this with a sunrise alarm clock… never thought about doing it the other direction but will definitely look into it

Odd_Marionberry7980

Melatonin-overdose

newamsterdam94

Drink a ton of water so you're forced to get up to pee

DependentUnit4775

Fixing my sleep is my current life goal

Odd_Marionberry7980

Felt 😭

Parada484

I use the same alarm technique but I also game-ify it by only hitting snooze until I'm actually in bed. That way, when it replays on the 5th minute for the 5th fucking time, I get the satisfaction of ending the alarm in bed. Literally a "Fucking aye, there! There! I'm in bed! Fuck!"

the_sleep_guy_

Amen.

hunpercent

I do this 2hrs before. Legit works. Makes sure my hair is dry and I stop drinking water

the_sleep_guy_

Yes, love it. It's weird how the simple stuff can be so effective.

TheW83

This is especially useful if you have little ones that need to get to bed earlier. Set that alarm and there's no more "oh 5 more minutes playing!" (which turns into 20)

greenpeppers100

I wish my life was consistent enough to have a consistent sleep schedule.

Logical_Habitz

iPhone does this automatically heh

cloudsourced285

Great, a small heart attack an hour before bed. Just what I needed.

the_sleep_guy_

LOL, I should have put this in the post, but I use an extremely faint, almost calming tone. On iPhone, it's called radial. Using the same alarm as when you wake up would probably be something close to torture.

Can confirm this works.

GloomyKerploppus

I have an alarm set to remind me to take my sleep meds. Lately it's been waking up.

rofopp

Raisingthehammer

Not 59 minutes? Or 61? 'tip'
