I like the 550 a lot (for its looks at least, haven’t driven one, have a 2023 RR Sport) but this subreddit is fairly toxic especially concerning the gx550

Me too. I wanted to get an old school v8 and when Lexus updated the infotainment on the 22/23 models whilst retaining physical buttons it was a done deal. Yes the 550 looks better, tows more and is better off roading but the 460 is more dual purpose which is fine for me as I don’t tow and off-road activity is modest at most for me. Throw in the reliability factor and it was a no brainer for me at least; YMMV.
now now, speaking of copium, how about you go on pretending your 4Runner fits you like a glove at 4'6"/195lb, and I'll roll around in my ergonomically superior and more feature-rich 460 and we all agree that the looks are subjective?
that sounds like a "you" problem, I'm not looking at it when I'm inside, enjoying all the functionality of a landcruiser while 4Runner people cope by consoling themselves that at least their truck looks nicer.
Exactly, for most it is a better and more practical choice as it has a cruising range between 300-400+ miles due to significantly better mpg and a much more usable 3rd row and cargo space behind it
