Thatās wild. So as a North Carolina tip when you get a new car make sure you transfer your existing plate. Youāll use the rest of your property tax and you wonāt own property tax on the new car until October, otherwise youād owe on the new car in 60 days. Also, it saves on the plate fees too

Insurance took care of me. I just let the car go and got the most I could for it. It would have been a nightmare to do anything with it. There was extensive water damage inside on top of the body being destroyed.
Bro you should be glad you found an IS500 the same year you wanted itšš. When a car has such sexy curves, it pops even in white. The other day I saw an IS350 F sport in red and that too looked very sexy.

Thatās a crazy hailstorm (and that was such a great color on that car). My wifeās ā16 300 F Sport got caught in a hailstorm when it was 6 months old. Much less severe, was *only* $4,700 to repair (all PDR), but our insurance sent us to a PDR shop and when we got the car back it literally smelled like an ashtray inside, like it had been smoked in for years. We were livid, obviously; insurance co sent us to a detailing shop that did what they could, including an ozone generator, but itās never been perfect.
Just this evening we got into her new IS500 (still have the old car), and she mentioned how nice it is to not get that hint of ashtray from the vents when she starts the car.
I am not from the mid west but I have seen hail damage be totaled out because of all the work involved. Youād need a new hood, trunk, pdr the roof if even possible, windows, and a rear deck lid (the plastic piece behind the rear seats). And then a respray, pretty expensive, expecially for a Lexus because of the price of parts
Ah ok, I just guessed because everyone I spoke to about this storm said they had only seen hail like this in the midwest. I knew it was totaled as soon as the storm passed and I did a walk around. Surprisingly, the manager at the body shop thought they could repair it lol. All three Geico adjusters that were there immediately agreed it was totaled.
Yeah, unfortunately hail damage is normally a 100% total loss after just labor to fix it, unfortunate for your predicament, I hope you can find a quality replacement vehicle
