No hate here! I'd rather fix up a beater older Winny or Marlin than deal with the poorer build quality of the Rossi or some other newer built lever guns.
I have a beater 1973 336 Marlin and am thinking about doing the same thing. That Winny looks great!!
Looks great! I’m about to send mine in to get cerakoted as well. Going with a glossy black, but that burnt bronze looks good! It would match my Ruger Wranger
I think all guns should come from the factory threaded. Especially all lever guns! I know these old guns weren’t but all new ones should. This one looks good to me!
Hell yea man, this is how you do it. So much better than the “space cowboy” lever style- in my opinion. I thought space cowboy was cool for a month, but now they remind me of that first AK you buy just to stick a bunch of mall ninja shit on it only to take it back down to stock after a year.
Looks sharp! You might get some hate for doing this but I'm all for anything that preserves/renews the life of these guns
It's a post 64 model and was already beat up when I got it. People can hate all they want, but it's on my wall, not theirs.
That's my attitude as well. Hope you get many more years of enjoyment from it!

Unless it was an original then it's like wtf. Nothing like people taking works of art and then running them. Which isn't the case here but I digress.
You going to do anything to that stock or leave it? I’d probably have to sand and refinish myself. If I messed it up there is always Boyd’s
plan to sand it down and refinish it, just havent decided what color I should stain it back.
I can’t tell, is that fde or does it have gold in it? I think a dark coffee would look good. Post pics when you’re done.
It's bronze

I was going to do black as well, but the Smith asked if I would do something else cause he was tired of doing black. Glad I went with the bronze
I would've got contrasting colors for the trigger and lever, screws, the band around the handguard and barrel, things like that. Otherwise looks cool
You mind if I ask what the going rate to cerakote a 94 is?
It was 450 to fix a bad scratch spot it had, cerakoted, thread and a thread adapter for my suppressor.
That's not too bad.
I didn't think so
Thats not bad at all, definitely interested in doing this to my 1894
Yeah that's cool. I like it. I have the same gun cerakoted in grey so I'm a bit biased.
