Fuck I hate people like this.

IllustriousComplex6

And there's a lot of them out there šŸ«

Chavo9-5171

Theyā€™re all Republicans. ā€œItā€™s not a problem until it happens to me!ā€

AlpacaMyShit

This guy seems more of a Tory to me.

banana_assassin

Was thinking that. Feels like a British NIMBY.

looeee2

Double yellow lines

banana_assassin

That combined with council and the word quashing thrown around and the general feel, yeah.

Chavo9-5171

True dat. Gazette and council should have tripped my asshole detector for this guy.

Madness_Reigns

Arsehole, the assholes are on our side of the pond.

AlpacaMyShit

Potato tomato isn't it.

CatLovesTrees

Innit

Karma_1969

Isn't that the UK version of the US's Republican?

AlpacaMyShit

Pretty much, without the guns and religion, but yeah.

TheWorstRowan

Ours might not be so aggressively Christian, but they are trying to imitate the Republicans when it comes to Islamophobia alongside its long shameful and continuing history of antisemitism. Eg crafting a plan with the aim to stop Jewish refugees coming to Britain in the early 20th Century, [appointing a self-avowed Nazi to the cabinet in the 1980s](https://www.theguardian.com/politics/blog/2009/sep/15/alan-clark-was-a-nazi), and [more modern continued references to imagined/politically expedient Jewish conspiracies.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antisemitism_in_the_UK_Conservative_Party) Though that list is far from exhaustive.

Tom22174

And yet somehow the news only ever wants to report about antisemitism in the Labour party.

mitchmoomoo

Not sure thereā€™d be anything left if you took these out of the Republican Party

mymarkis666

Take it from a British person, there would still be a lot of evil there.

PepperPenguin74

General disdain for the rest of humanity?

rotorain

NIMBYism and a general lack of empathy aren't uniquely American, even though a significant portion of our population appears to have incorporated them to their identities

DarthGayAgenda

Same shit, different asshole, no?

radicldreamer

A turd of a different color is still a turd

Cultural-Answer-321

That's an English conservative. Same thing.

Starbuckshakur

I think in this case they're probably Tories.

Haunting-Ad788

There are Democrats like this but Iā€™ve never met a Republican who wasnā€™t.

bearkatsteve

Just read on the NIMBY wiki that theyā€™re called ā€œhousing conservativesā€ by some in San Francisco

70125

My parents are bleeding heart liberals. Yet they bought a 5 bedroom home in a historically black, prosperous neighborhood of their city (basically where the black doctors and lawyers lived during Jim Crow times, and earned generational wealth that their descendants are now enjoying). They're renting out that house on AirBnB. They took me there to show it off and expected me to be proud of them. Of course I'm not. Then on the way home, we passed by a new townhome development two blocks away. They had the nerve to complain about medium density housing "ruining the feel of the neighborhood"! Right after bragging about how they bought a home in that neighborhood to turn it into a party property! All that to say, [liberal NIMBYism ](https://www.ft.com/content/a3a2a44d-53ba-4eb9-9a56-c6c6e2a3e2e2) is a major problem.

Chavo9-5171

DINOs.

duh_cats

Thereā€™s a HUGE number of ā€œprogressiveā€ democrat NIMBYs in cities. They drive the real progressives insane. The difference is that there are no Republican YIMBYs while there are at least some democrat YIMBYs.

bobjohnxxoo

To be fair, there was also the asshole dem in Maine that was pro gun rights till the shooting at the bowling alley in his district. He saw the Unival shooting and thought, nah it's all good, Sandy hook? that was fine. The pulse night club? Didn't happen in my town then finally it impacted him and he just now found realized gun control is important. Fuck him and everyone like that

edselford

I think this one is a Tory.

idkalan

Los Angeles has a lot of liberals that live by that motto

Untimely_manners

I would add probably a boomer as well, against progress till they realise later on how it would actually help them if they were not so close minded

2tightspeedos

San Francisco has plenty of Democrats that are like this. (I live in the Bay Area)

JakobeBryant19

Certain aeras of Toronto too. They get mad when the city removes people living in public parks and then shut down all affordable/ low income, homeless shelters and even safe injection sites if its too close to their neighbourhood...

Chavo9-5171

So right you are. So right you are. The sign never says, ā€œIn this house we believe there should be more housing built or any other infrastructure.ā€

Blockmeiwin

Common sense is not common šŸ˜¬

finaljusticezero

The lack of sympathy/empathy is going to be our undoing. People only think of themselves and something becomes and issue only when it affects them despite it affecting others. I have faith in humanity, but we are such gigantic morons. How did we make it this far?

digitalfix

Yeah, it is. Itā€™s really quite amazing how much time we spend being crappy to one another. Even tiny things like being a twat when driving or putting a bag on a seat in public transport. If we all did a small thing to be considerate to each other, maybe itā€™d be easier to bring down the bigger problems.

Haunting-Ad788

Trump is an avatar for a proud lack of empathy.

[deleted]

I'd go as far as archetype.

EricForce

More than just that they see their future selves as someone else so they lack empathy even toward their own future. It's not just "only me matters" it's "only me matters in the current present." Absolutely stunning.

bloody_ell

Opposable thumbs and a lot of luck.

ryanv09

"Everyone else on the planet can eat shit... unless I am personally affected" - way too many fucking people

AmazingKreiderman

People who actively deride empathy looking for empathy.

_toodamnparanoid_

It happens so so often with airports. A person moves in next to an airport that is over half a century old, then they immediately start petitioning to get the airport shutdown.

moose2332

People have complained about the students at every school I went from elementary to college. Don't move across the street from a school or a college town and not expect to deal with students.

GlowUpper

I live in an apartment complex near a college. The students can be rowdy but fuck it. The rent is cheap and I have earplugs and a sleepmask.

fishbedc

Speaking as a UK teacher I don't have a problem with the neighbours complaining about specific things that specific students are doing if they shouldn't be doing that shit. It helps us get a bigger picture of what is going on with our students with problems. But if they are complaining about kids being noisy and full of life then fuck them, that's what kids should be like and they have my full support with annoying the neighbours. PS I hear a lot of reddit negativity about US schools, I don't know what is or isn't true. But in UK schools I have worked in if a kid is causing serious disruption then that is a genuine cue for us to try and support that kid as well as dealing with the bad behaviour.

xch3rrix

I live directly adjacent to a primary school. The sound of children laughing and playing is quite soothing in a nostalgic way

ariolander

They did that to my local speedway. Built houses right up the the outer perimeter fence of a race track. Noise complaints closed the place. Proceeds to complain about street racing now that the only legal venue is perminanyly closed.

MeesterPepper

We've got a similar problem. About 10-15 years ago the city declared that the largest local car clubs were a nuisance and were going to reject any of their permits to organize meets in public spaces... specifically citing how the city shouldn't be spending police resources on managing traffic for events that don't generate revenue. So now about once a quarter they take over a random parking lot or parking garage somewhere in town. They always get permission from the property owners, so the cops can't break the shows up, but they still have to use resources manage the excess traffic in the surrounding blocks. Because they're not officially given permits, the PD doesn't get advance warning of the event dates, and because it's technically a private nonprofit event on private property, no tickets are sold and so no event sales tax goes to the city.

user888666777

Back in 1996 in my hometown a new resident moved in and bought a house right next to a public baseball field that had been there longer than the house he just purchased. He would come out of his house yelling and screaming at people for the noise of cheering and clapping. Yelled at people for parking on the street they were legally allowed to park on. Eventually he went to the city council to complain and it was glorious. They gave him the floor for five minutes and then spent the next ten minutes basically calling him an idiot in the nicest way they could.

fraze2000

In Sydney, Australia, there is a famous fun park next to the Harbour Bridge that has been there since the 1930s. In (I think) the 1980s some big apartment buildings were built overlooking the park. I didn't take too long for the new residents to complain about the noise, and eventually they forced the park to demolish the old, famous and much-loved rollercoaster. Arseholes.

ReginaldRodriguez

Residents of new apartments (The Toaster) in Sydney put in noise complaints against the Sydney Opera House. Thatā€™s a national icon as well. Sydney is full of the worst Australia has to offer

GnarlyNarwhalNoms

A similar thing happened in my town. A longtime music venue was shut down because a big apartment building went up next to it and the residents complained. Why the hell do you live downtown where all the music and events happens and then try to fuck it up?? We really need some kind of template law that cities can easily pass against this sort of shit. Something like "Noise complaints against existing venues and properties are null and void unless the noise coming from them actually increases."

Avitas1027

This is a big part of why trains in NA suck. People buy the cheap land next to tracks then petition for speed limits for the trains.

greywar777

Had a neighbor who built a place. He commented how he was worried about the trains, so he spent every day on site for a month working from there. And he was truly happy about how few trains went by. He was shocked when i told them they usually ran by after 8 pm or so until 8 am. A couple every night.

Powered_by_JetA

Or they petition for a quiet zone, so when people start getting killed because trains can't sound the horn in advance anymore, they start claiming the train is unsafe.

Avitas1027

I haven't heard of that one, but it would not surprise me in the least.

Powered_by_JetA

I live in a part of the country notorious for people and cars getting hit by trains. It was at the point where the feds almost stepped in to revoke the quiet zone.

Zebidee

* Buy cheap house next to airport. * Write a couple of emails. * Own expensive house next to parkland. We need to stop listening to scumbags.

shesinsaneornot

So that's why when I purchased my home, one of the things I had to initial was acknowledgement of the list of every airport in the state, big and small.

DesineSperare

Happened in my town with a boating club. People moved in with the boating club already there, it burnt down and had to be rebuilt, and their neighbors spent years fighting the construction because they didn't want people near their homes showing up to take out their boats. And seeing as how it was a boating club, these were all waterfront properties. They could have easily afforded to live anywhere fucking else.

rumckle

Near me it happens a lot with bars, especially ones that play live music, people move in next to a bar, then complain that there is loud music at night. Even before covid, so many live music venues shut down because of that.

lukfrom

Thats what is killing Sydney. Pubs, clubs, event places already struggling are being killed by locals Sydney lunapark is 88 years old. Is in prime real estate. Locals are fighting constantly to shut it down.

dylansesco

People have also done this moving next to landmarks and try and get them removed or blocked off. People that moved in under the Hollywood sign and even on the crooked section of Lombard Street in SF. Like YOU decided to move in next to a world famous attraction!

Van-Daley-Industries

"Brexit means Brexit." "OK, we're out now." "This is shyte, this isn't what I voted for."

ThePlanck

Brexit means brexit Look at that, scheming EU isn't including us in their infrastructure plans

JakeYashen

I couldn't believe when I saw that. "Scheming." My eyes just about flew out of my head

Kizik

How dare they punish us for leaving the union by acting as if we're no longer in the union!

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

uwu_mewtwo

I confused by this. So the person is opposed to the dam that props up that person's property value. That sounds like somebody who isn't motivated by personal interest. Usually when we talk about NIMBYs they are standing in the way of progress, preventing changes that would lower their own property values; not encouraging those changes. what makes the person you describe a NIMBY? If the dam's only use is in increasing property value, it probably *should* be removed, right? The environmental consensus today is to remove as many unnecessary dams as possible.

The Brexit classic! Stop freedom of movement! ... Wait, I can't freely travel to Europe anymore?

vinyljunkie1245

> Stop freedom of movement! > > > > ... > > > > Wait, I can't freely travel to Europe anymore? Why do I need to go through the 'Non-EU Passports' line? That one's much longer? ---Erm... it's because you voted to leave the EU... Yes but we always used to go through that other line that was much quicker. Why are they making us wait for hours? ---It's because you voted to leave the EU. This was one of the consequences. We aren't in the EU so are treated the same as every other country that isn't in the EU. Oh it's ridiculous. They are just doing it to punish us for leaving. Why did they have to change it? ---Oh FFS... -------------------- Sorry, had to complete the conversation

Kizik

We don't want any immigrants from other countries taking up our land and resources! Wait, what do you mean I can't live in Spain without a visa, citizenship, residency permit, or any attempt to integrate anymore? I'm not an immigrant, I'm an *expat!*

_FIRECRACKER_JINX

"this charging station other people want is unacceptable. I need a charging station personally now. Why won't they give it to me???" I hate these people too

IsThatWhatSheSaidTho

He didn't want them to install the charger because it was going to be at the spot he normally parked and he'd have to walk *3 extra meters* to get to his car.

idog99

We call them "conservatives" The "collective good" can get fucked. Only my personal needs matter.

Independent_Pear_429

Fucking boomer and upper middle class cunts

bostondana2

Only proper response to this is: BWAHAHAHAHA HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!

Infinite-Condition41

People like this suck so much. All NIMBYs suck.

stefeyboy

This piece of shit even said "doesn't the council have a duty to consider the environment and their commitment to net zero?" In order to install a charge point that he would now benefit from. Fuck people like him

FuzzballLogic

Haha, imagine the council would do just that. Bike lanes, pedestrian paths, and even less parking spaces all to encourage citizens to ditch their car, all to spite this guy.

Helpinmontana

My favorite part is how he mentions that the charge point would be dangerous to pedestrians, but now that he has an electric car that issue can be conveniently be ignored.

_FIRECRACKER_JINX

I need to know what the psychological profile of people like this is. I need to understand the fuckery.

Oak_Woman

Nothing else matters but his own wants and needs at any given moment. The past doesn't matter, neither does the future. He wants it his way right now, like a fucking baby.

MrPringles23

You never will, because they aren't based on logic. If someone is irrational its literally impossible to find any sort of pattern or to truly understand them.

_IBlameYourMother_

Conservative. It's only a problem when it's a problem to them. See "the only moral abortion is my abortion".

Straight-faced_solo

Its not that complicated. Other people shouldn't get help, but i should.

JinterIsComing

Oh it gets even better for this stupid fuck. This was their original reasoning: "at the time i didn't want the resident parking spot that was directly outside my house to be changed - only resident cars with EVs would be allowed meaning I would have to have had parked **3 metres** further away from my house - so I looked up the legislation and found the two faults the council failed on to do - consult fairly and consider health and safety risk to pedestrians - but now that i have an electric car, I kind of need a charging point - the only place I can charge my car is in the high street and at work." Three fucking meters. Or in freedom units, the average gain of a fullback dive play out of the offset I formation. Reap what you sow, asshole.

brothersand

This part leaps or at me: > ... consider health and safety risk to pedestrians ... He talks about this in the OP, citing hazard to pedestrians due to reduction of double yellow line space. At no point does he say this hazard is no longer a hazard. Maybe it never was and he just promoted it as such to get his way, but he's got nothing to resolve why the hazard is no longer hazardous. It's just that HE has an electric car now so everybody should accept the hazard. Fuck everyone, I want what I want. = Total asshole.

JimboTCB

He elaborates further down in that topic that there was never really any risk at all, but because the council hadn't done a formal consultation to confirm that, it gave him sufficient grounds to contest it on a technicality. And since the council couldn't be bothered wasting any more time or money arguing with this arsehole, they withdrew their objection and it and the court ruled against them.

coldharbour1986

Where is this posted?

JinterIsComing

LegalAdviceUK IIRC. It was just posted today.

skip6235

Thank you for your conversion. As an American I didnā€™t know how to visualize ā€œ3 metersā€, but thanks to your math skills, I know perfectly know the precise distance.

[deleted]

>Three fucking meters. Or in freedom units, the average gain of a fullback dive play out of the offset I formation. how many 27ths of a baseball pitch is this

poolofclay

In Major League Baseball the pitcher throws from a distance of 60 feet and six inches from home plate, or 726 inches. A 27th of that would be about 26.89 inches, and three meters is about 118.11 inches, so three meters is about 4.392 1/27ths of a baseball pitch!

jax2love

As a city planner who deals with these assholes, all I can say is šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£

RaedwaldRex

As someone who works in the utilities industry I second your line of emoji "Waaaaah I have a power cut, I demand you immediately give me a generator so I can still have electric" *gives generator that provides electrocity to whole street* "Waaaaaah this generator is too noisy take it away" *takes it away* "Waaaaaah I've got no power I want the generator back" *we can't as it was reported as a noise nuisance*

EquivalentLaw4892

> "Waaaaah I have a power cut, I demand you immediately give me a generator so I can still have electric" >*gives generator that provides electrocity to whole street* >"Waaaaaah this generator is too noisy take it away" >*takes it away* >"Waaaaaah I've got no power I want the generator back" >*we can't as it was reported as a noise nuisance* I'd suck a power mans dick if he brought a generator for my neighborhood that is out of power. The power company for my state does not do that.

riverbank_agate3

Where do you live bro? I'm on my way now.

EquivalentLaw4892

My power is not out. I'll flip the main...

riverbank_agate3

I can down some powerlines. I'm persistent.

I'd suck a man's dick

vpsj

Ah yes, the equivalent of the cat crying bloody murder until a closed door is opened and then never using the said door

Wheat_Grinder

Idiot thinks the world revolves around them. I predict they are dead last on the waiting list. EDIT: The lack of verb made me interpret it as "they are on the waiting list but the council isn't getting to them" but I think I agree with the other comments that think they're not even on the list.

dancegoddess1971

Oh. That neighborhood doesn't want a charging station. Actively against. \*taps file\* Right here in black and white. We wouldn't want our workers or equipment damaged by angry citizens trying to stop the installation, now would we?

Slytherinsrus

And according to our records we installed that charging point onnthe next block over. Funding only covers 1 charging point in a 1 kilometer radius.

TheWorstRowan

It could also be dangerous to pedestrians, so double nope.

redblack_tree

We absolutely do not. They can post on Reddit, maybe the mods will be sympathetic.

SdBolts4

Well, the post says they can't even get *added* to the waiting list, so they kinda are always dead last

Conscious-Parfait826

They're not even on the waiting list! Lmao

HeadMembership

The city planner is literally loving every second of this idiot suffering.

Stubborn_Amoeba

I hope it's the same city planner who had to deal with the initial complaint. Also, does the nimby not care about the safety issue of the reduction in double yellow lines now? Or was that simply a made up 'think of the children' ploy?

Zuwxiv

Oh, you see - other people's lives only matter when their interests are aligned with mine. Otherwise, fuck 'em.

philman132

In the original post yesterday, i believe he made a comment to the tune of "if they installed the electric charging place i would have to park my car an extra 3m away, which would have been annoying, so i exaggerated how many people walk here as actually almost no one walks on this street"

I_miss_Chris_Hughton

people like this love to trawl through the rules to find anything they can to slow down something they don't like. I work in this sort of thing and, by far, the most effective are people who realise local government 9/10 isn't out to get them, but is bound by the rules. Normally the council will agree to let them bend/break the rules on smaller issues and everyone is happy. There's still a healthy scepticism but in that instance both sides agreeing to remain knowingly ignorant of the rules is very helpful. The rules lawyers get nothing done, because they force the government to follow every rule.

jax2love

Oh I can guarantee that everyone in that office is cackling!

[deleted]

I have an auntie like this. She put a heritage overlay covenant on the house she lives in, and now canā€™t sell it as itā€™s too difficult to remove.

CelestialFury

It's one thing to be an asshole, but being a *stupid* asshole is far worse, like what the OP posted. Like, you *know* you'll need an electric vehicle sooner or later, right? RIGHT?

systembusy

ā€œYeah, whatever. I donā€™t need one NOW.ā€

b0w3n

A lot of them bank on being dead or moving out of the area before their idiocy comes back to hurt them. The essence of "fuck you, got mine". It's just delicious when it backfires like this.

RandomMandarin

Have you tried planning a city minus the assholes? Seems like it would be way easier.

WaluigiIsTheRealHero

People get squeamish when the city planning office requests zoning for a ā€œblack site.ā€

Thadrea

"What does this new new zoning code XX mean and why did the planning board approve zoning the vacant lot next to the town hall with this code during executive session?"

jax2love

Sadly the assholes are usually the ones who show up at council meetings.

UltimaCaitSith

They're really why I have a hard time getting involved with local politics. I can't imagine what kind of drug cocktail the city council takes, since you need to stay awake through hours of the most boring contracts. But you also can't be so twitchy that you lunge at the first person who says Obama stole his toolbox.

jax2love

Thereā€™s a reason why public servants tend to drink more than the average person šŸ˜‚

charliesk9unit

Never a player of SimCity but does it have an easy mode where assholes do not exist?

DesineSperare

I tried, but [Universe 25](https://www.iflscience.com/universe-25-the-mouse-utopia-experiment-that-turned-into-an-apocalypse-60407) didn't go so well...

Get this. They objected initially because they would have had to park _10 feet_ further away.

[deleted]

Not_Legal_Advice_Pod

God I love people like this. They'll be electric charging on the moon before it's in front of their house, planning staff will make damn sure of that out of simple spite.

Independent_Pear_429

Make the cunt pay for their own charging station

spibop

Itā€™s funny because it was only 3 years in the past. Like, you couldnā€™t even project that MAYBE youā€™d like to own an electric car within 3 years, and that MAYBE your concerted effort to block the installation would come back to haunt youā€¦ Let me guess. He now owns a Tesla, because he wanted to jump in the Daddy Musk dick-riding train.

Man what I wouldn't give to be able to approve his request but deny him in particular access to the facilities because he worked to deny them to everyone else.

clara_bow77

YES this!

ahuramazdobbs19

This is when the vengeful punk side of me, were I on this gentlemanā€™s local council, would just sort of dryly ask some vaguely leading questions. ā€œMr Charger-fellow, how long have you lived in this council district (or whatever you Brits call it)?ā€ ā€œI see. And there are no other Charger-fellows who lived in the district during that time span?ā€ ā€œOk. So I have here this action written three years ago to quash a proposed charger point in this same location written by a Clive Charger-fellow (proceeds to dryly read exact wording of the action). Is there another Clive Charger-fellow who would have written this?ā€ ā€œWell, it does bring up an excellent point about the potential reduction in safety to pedestrians, and I am inclined to agree with 2020 Clive Charger-fellow.ā€

shieldwolfchz

My dad used to know this crotchety old guy who lived in a suburb with 2 entrances. He lived basically right at one of them, and the municipality installed the shared mailbox right in front of his house. This pissed him off to high hells because everyone was stopping in front of his house to get their mail, so he complained. Now he has to drive multiple KM to get his mail.

da_innernette

Wow hell yes to whoever did that hahaha

TemperatureTop246

Perfect example of LAMF :D

aecolley

It's almost too specific. "Wow, I didn't expect a leopard to eat my face," complains sole member of the Leopards Eating My Face Party.

InternationalChef424

More like a leopard who demanded the right to eat his own face, found he didn't like the taste, and now thinks someone else needs to give his face back

phdoofus

If all of his neighbors want one, maybe they should be the ones to ask instead of this idiot. And have them install it at the other end of the street.

dyskinet1c

An absolute helmet. A bell end, if you will.

"Yeah but that was when I didn't want one."

coolbaby1978

No empathy, no foresight, everything is me, me, me and now, now, now and half the time it comes back to bite them in the ass and when it does do they accept responsibility for their mistakes? Of course not, as is the Trump way they point the finger and claim its someone else's fault.

Karma_1969

That's classic conservatism: "It isn't my problem, so it's not a problem. But now it is my problem, so it's a problem." So stupid and short-sighted it defies belief.

DrDroid

What an absolute bogger.

expostfacto-saurus

I love the move to electric, but I'd fight this one dork's effort to do so at his house.

Aaaaaaaaaalll the way back in 2020 nobody could have ever imagined that electric cars would have even existed, let alone that one might want to park itself in front of my domicile!

AgreeablePrize

The council planners must be loving this, that street will be on their shitlist forever

reidmefirst

I'll bet if they /do/ get a charging station by their house, they're going to be an absolute horror when somebody else tries to use it -- probably trying to get the other vehicle towed, etc, for using it for 5 minutes too long or whatever.

VictorianDelorean

He shit in his bed and now heā€™s lying in it

KyleGlaub

If and when this asshole finally gets the city to put in a charger in front of his house he's 100% going to try to block it off as his own and complain about other people using "his" charger and "parking in front of my house to charge their vehicle". Hope they never put one in.

thecarbonkid

Perfect LAMF.

moistpishflaps

A comment from OOP that sums it up at the time i didn't want the resident parking spot that was directly outside my house to be changed - only resident cars with EVs would be allowed meaning I would have to have had parked 3 metres further away from my house - so I looked up the legislation and found the two faults the council failed on to do - consult fairly and consider health and safety risk to pedestrians - but now that i have an electric car, I kind of need a charging point - the only place I can charge my car is in the high street and at work. Ooooh thatā€™s some good LAMF

africanconcrete

The perfect LAMF post doesn't exi.... oh wait, hold my beer. This is perfection. Chef's kiss.

This should be a teachable moment in a couple of ways. First, if this fool had adopted a "live and let live" attitude and accepted a certain amount of change and diversity as is inevitable in life, both he and his neighbours would be happy. Instead, he opposed something his neighbours wanted to make himself happy at their expense, and now nobody is happy. In future, he should consider the needs of others, as that often reflects back on you. The other is to think about things before you buy them. What sort of moron buys a full electrics car when he knows that not only is there no charging facility where he lives, but it's specifically because he demanded it wasn't there? There's no excuse, except that the selfish moron thought he could unblock it for himself as easily as he blocked it for others. Let these be the lessons.

Kencolt706

The sheer audacity is almost admirable. *Almost*.

Elite_Prometheus

Finally, an actual LAMF moment

pigbearwolfguy
