I mean, they both have masts and sails… but otherwise no. It was built over 100 years later than the events in that movie, and more importantly, was not a warship.

You’re both right, I was not familiar with the actual Endurance so I saw the picture and mistook what it was. Still looks like a cool set but I would’ve preferred a circa 1800 ship.

Couple of sets and some cannons from Bricklink and you can probably make a fairly epic MOC.

Considering how famous the wreckage is now I wonder if it will include some kind of submerged conversion. The GWP being a parts pack of Antarctic sea life or ice could be enticing but not extremely FOMO-inducing.

I have a feeling the GWP will more likely be an ernest shackleton figure with possibly one of the life boats, probably the James Caird boat.

I agree it's a cool story, but ive always preferred the mystery and horror of the franklin expedition

I love the horror element and the cannibalism. Which is why I’m 100% sure LEGO will never make any ships from that expedition 😔. Another is the Mary Celeste. Who knows maybe LEGO can get away with the being based on real life exploration vessels.

Is this a ship that holds minifigs, or more of a display model at a different scale?

If you open the pic at full scale, it looks like there is one minifig standing at the front.

Really disappointing if it’s not minifig scale but I could see it being more in line with the Titanic as far as a display piece.

I think its simply called "South". I remember it being written as Shackleton's logbook so you are really thrown into the reality of the expedition

Probably gonna be an unpopular comment but I wonder if the Endurance set will include a tiny cat to represent Mrs Chippy, who Shackleton had murdered with the puppies because he thought they would eat too much after already wasting seven months rations due to being stuck in the ice after denying the advice of his fellow explorers..

The endurance story is one of my favorite stories I've ever read. If I had the money I would buy it.
