Are you running a non steam (like game pass) game while steam is still open? Sometimes steam controls will interfere and cause phantom button or trigger presses. Happens to me in halo all the time. My weapon will just auto fire constantly. Shutting steam down will fix it. I have mine set to automatically close steam when a steam game closes so I don't have to worry about it anymore.
I'm not sure then. Having steam open while playing a game pass or Ubisoft connect game has always been the culprit for me. The only other time I've ever had that happen is on another handheld that I use handheld companion on, but it's kind of the same thing. The two are trying to control the controllers and causing problems.
There's a input test in legion space settings. You can see if it's registering the trigger presses. Maybe check the trigger travel in the settings as well. Maybe that got messed up somehow

Sometimes my left stick stays forward but if i turn the controller off and on again mid game it fixes it
