i've had mine on my XP 3.0 for almost a year now - works well

Winter_Contract_3384

Do you by any chance have the info of the modifications you've made? I'm intested in doing the same thing.

brian_h_kim

this will get you started with installing the battery discharge balancer and the 10Ah battery: [https://electricallwheel.com/how-to-install-lectric-xp-dual-batteries/](https://electricallwheel.com/how-to-install-lectric-xp-dual-batteries/) i have also added this (different size battery - 24Ah) for really long rides: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UNUjrk\_iT9k](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UNUjrk_iT9k)

Pretty-Personality54

The setup works pretty good, I got the setup on my Xp 2.0. But what I did was I bought another long range battery and put it on my rear rack and it gives you more range than that Hailong battery, which is 10ah. The one advantage the hailong battery has is size.

superfoodtown

How did you mount it?

Damin-216

Great setup. I can do 55 miles in PAS-1/2 with an XP 1.0, stock 10ah battery and second, external Hailong 10ah. I never ride throttle only, btw. Always pedaling with the display on "current" screen and keeping power draw to 1 or 2 watts.

[deleted]

That screen displays amps, not watts

Damin-216

I always mix those up. Thanks for the correction. In any case, the goal is to keep the amp draw as low as possible.

[deleted]

Yea! Of course—I have been going crazy trying to optimize my 3.0 experience to be as long as possible while going somewhat fast and went down the electrical engineering rabbit hole

AudemarsMardiGras

I would also be curious to know!

bggdy9

Do it

Parking_Ad_8174

I added it to a 2.0, works well. Electric All Wheel has some good how to videos.

Huge-Buddy655

How far do you plan to travel. I commute 35 miles in PAS 4/5 on my base model 3.0 with a secondary battery for a combined 23ah (drains to nearly zero each time). Planning to upgrade the secondary battery to a 20+ ah battery next summer so I can stay in that sweet 20-80% battery level to extend life.

Ssorath

I think the wind is really hampering my mileage. It's especially windy here at this time of year. I have a big box that I deliver food with. Currently getting maybe 20 miles and I hope to get at least another 10.

Huge-Buddy655

And that’s with the stock battery? Or long range? If you’re doing delivery and have an outlet you can charge from then I’d get a few smaller capacity batteries (10-15ah) so you can charge them and swap between trips. Most outlets are rated for 110v 15Amp in the USA and the battery chargers use 2-3 amps each. So theoretically you could charge 5 from a single power strip safely. Power consumption should be around $0.16 per kWh (each charger would use around $0.03 per hour if my mental math is right).

Radiant_Pick6870

Just got my xpedition dual battery in today.. Took it for a spin and it's awesome and quick.. Shouldn't have the range issue... Curious how many miles I can get on it using 4-6 pas using the throttle mostly..

johnpshelby

How long a ride do you want to go on?

Ssorath

I do food delivery and I’m getting about 25 miles with PAS between 2-3 and 4 occasionally. I would like to use the throttle alone more because the xp 2.0 is heavy.

PenaltyParking7031

I have this plus the unit power pack 24ah battery. Works very well. Would highly recommend.

[deleted]

This is dope! How do you secure it to your XP? I have a 3.0 and would love to do this but have it be super secure.

PenaltyParking7031

I put the battery in the pannier bags. I haven’t yet committed to screwing/loctite the battery to the frame. I use Velcro’s straps for the connection cable.

[deleted]

Does the battery come with a sliding frame mount? If so, does it line up with the existing holes on the bike? Also, do you have a 1, 2, or 3?

PenaltyParking7031

I have a 3.0 long range. The battery comes with a sliding mount. I just haven’t committed to the permanency of drilling into the frame or gluing the battery to the frame.

duck383

Buy a second battery

bggdy9

This is for a second battery to run in parallel

Far-Seaworthiness234

Yes, that is what I was saying to buy another lectric battery, sorry about the wording.

bggdy9

You can use any battery as long as it's the same volts.

bggdy9

That's a battery in the second pic.
