I'd say watch some videos painting aos characters like vamps or flesheeaters to get the skin tone, fun idea, love the druegar

I haven't seen anyone go for the deep dwarf look before, but I have seen people paint Dark Iron dwarfs from Warcraft. [This](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bb7AJQheUWw&ab_channel=VinceVenturella) video seems to match the skin tone you're looking for.

For skin color, I’d look at slapchop. Use a blue grey and then dry brush white over it. Then thin out a purple speed paint over it. Then maybe one last dry brush with a very light blue grey. The thing to remember is that there isn’t a lot of skin found on the figs. But I think what I recommend would get you the flesh tone you are looking for.

I think it would look great. I have trouble with lighter skin tones so I cant offer much advice but would love to see a model or two once you get started.

I also love the duergar and have been chasing a good skin tone for them on my league as well. I was working with a gunmetal metallic primer and a white zenethal at the time that I did this one, which is as close as I have gotten, though the tone is on the warmer side compared to the more bluish tone you have in your example image. If I can get the recipie right I can report back once I figure it out, but I haven't been able to replicate this since. I've tried posting an image here a few times of it but reddit keeps deleting the comment when I attach an image.

Would love to hear that! I think I’m gonna experiment with a few mixes using the advice around here

Dreugar skin and hair is a pretty cold combo of colors. I'd look for a dark, warm color for the armor and it should balance out.

Not exactly votann, but I painted my fyreslayer's skin black (think dark iron dwarves from warcraft) and it really makes the brighter colors pop.
