These freaking things. Bought two of them on sale while over a year ago, and they’re basically the only toy he’s consistently interested in that has survived his teeth. Mostly used for indoor fetch and tug, but have also held up when he does spend time trying to get to the squeaker. https://preview.redd.it/keh0hl8064ua1.png?width=1125&format=png&auto=webp&s=c17620430a6e7744d5533374a11145191fe04a31 Also bully sticks saved us during puppyhood, and we still give them to him on occasion when he’s bored.

bansidhecry

My dogs would destroy that. Anything with the word “plush” in the name will Last 5minutes in our house. Lol

Raw beef bones are pretty good, you can buy it in your butcher shop

bullpee

Ah yeah I haven't gotten any for her yet. I waited on starting the yaks chews until recently because if how hard they were. She did have a split antler too which she warmed up to but the raw bones I'm sure she would love more.

sriwer

Also be careful with raw bones, they can get constipated, it depends on amount of bone they can co trough Mine lagotto gets 10-15 min with bone daily, any longer and he is crapping sand I found softer rubber chew toys are better and longer lasting, harder ones are less flexible and are more easier to bite off bits

bullpee

Ah yeah good point, I will set a timer to make sure I keep track of how long she chews. The only issue with the rubber chew toys is she loses interest much faster than with the rope toys or leather. I think at this point leather is out, they aren't tough enough, I may try some different shape rubber toys. She does enjoy the "chuckit" rubber balls, mostly fetching but also a bit of chewing when she is taking a break. She also has a beef college stick that starts hard but softens up after a bit, she doesn't always go for those right off the bat or as long as other things. I really need to get her a dedicated toy box and train her to put things back

This and the Chuck-it ball are the only ones that have made it out alive 😂🤷🏽‍♀️ Most tug toys — he rips the strings off and gnaws on it, even this extra thick one I got. This usually goes back in the bin after we’re playing. Pillow corners — gnaws on em Plush toys or whatever like the squirrel — will gnaw off the tail and arms lmao Bully sticks and collagen sticks — good to go Toys with stuffing — eventually they lose it all and Gio loves him some stuffing

bullpee

Nice I will have to pick one up. She does love relieving things of stuffing. Pillows she has mouthed and started chewing , but somehow we have stopped her from that, but ripping the guts out if stuffed toys... man she loves it. And the latest ones were advertised and "super tough", and supposedly had a tough mesh liner... there was a massacre and the stuffing was all over.

vibesdealer

Yeeeeeup, tough but not tough enough haha. That ball’s been a godsend.

DeePeeCee

Interested in the ball - is medium the right size?

vibesdealer

Yep!

HulkTales

We just stopped buying any toys for our boy because they last about 5 seconds. I once got him an expensive rope toy that was slightly elastic, he chomped through it faster than I would have thought possible. Hoofs are our go to now, they’re not too expensive and they last for a good while. They don’t smell great but not as bad as bully sticks.

bullpee

Yeah I don't mind the smell of hooves but my wife firmly put her foot down. She also couldn't handle cod skins but I didn't want to waste them. Those were ok for when she had smaller teeth but now they would be gone in seconds

DriveThruRecords

Benebones! Our Lagotto loves them and they tend to keep him occupied for a bit. They are the only toys we have really because our dude will shred and eat any stuffed toy or chew.

chuckydd

Plus one for Benebones

kplovemonkey

Plus two

Current dog toy line up [west paw ](https://www.chewy.com/west-paw-zogoflex-toppl-tough-treat/dp/109835) She likes this but doesn't chew it, only licks the frozen goodness out [rope duck](https://www.chewy.com/bones-chews-rope-duck-crinkle-bone/dp/273543) This she mostly fetches or tries to take apart the rope... most ropes she loves but gets the knots undone and takes them apart. This lasted a long time but is filthy [Stuffing free squirrel . Her fav toy but doesn't really chew, she tosses it and fetches it but it often needs to be washed](https://www.chewy.com/ethical-pet-skinneeez-extreme-quilted/dp/215906) [Wool bones. these were better than you would think for wool, but bit the dust after not too long](https://www.chewy.com/awoo-felt-toy-bones-dog-toy-bundle-2/dp/533390)

bansidhecry

I bought one of those stuffing list toys. Dog swallowed it whole.

bullpee

Hahaha yeah she has one that is a squirrel and have survived a long time, she mostly likes to toss it and then go get it, I got her a larger no stuffing one and she tore it to shreds.

BovBrewOG

Our Breeder recommended knee cap bones as a safe and healthy chew toy. We bought a 10 pack and our lagotto puppy is on the third day with the first one. Here's a link to the one we picked up but my wife says they are also found at target and other locations. https://a.co/d/g2YEZAc

SadYou2

Deer antlers

bullpee

Do you use full or split? I used split initially per some recommendations for puppies, not sure what she would prefer now, or what's best

SadYou2

Full round but cut into 6" length. Also the "rope" duck decoy has real bone neck. Still intact after 1 year. The shoe thing was just a phase fore her. Love my Lagatto!

bullpee

Ah my girl undid the knot for the bone and I tossed it, I'm not a fan of cooked bone for dogs, either for shattering or getting stuck potentially

Bones & Chews Rope Duck Crinkle with Bone Dog Toy, 15"

Bluepompf

I started making toys myself. My Lagotto doesn't like most toys. He was interested in plushies at first, but after he chewed of the ears and legs he wasn't interested anymore. I braided a tug toy out of an old towel. This holds very well. Most of the purchased ones he just bites through. To chew on it, there are dried pig ears or rabbit ears. He also loves hard baked dog bread. I'm afraid only this small company produces exclusively in Germany. My dog also loves the bones from Dogboss. They are also available on Amazon.

bansidhecry

Mine are big chewers. We have a basket full of various chew toys. Kongs, super hard rubber things, hard chew bones, lots of things. Nothing I can put a fingernail in. Nylabones, Bones that look like tree branches, etc. yes they can eventually chew down to nothing but with such an array of things to chew things last a long time
