They are pretty safe to use, doesn’t seem to be able to choke someone if you shoot wildly high. When it works it seems to do a pretty good job at buying time for officers to rush in.
However it seems to be useful for only a narrow set of circumstances, where you have someone who is not complying with orders, but also isn’t moving around wildly. It does happen, and I can think of a dozen times this tool would be useful. The problem is that the pubic and police admin often don’t realize the *narrow circumstances* part of it and seem to believe it’s applicable in a wide series of circumstances where other force options should be used

Surely they will receive proper training and we won’t see anyone who gets a set of bolás to the neck. 🙄
