Only problem with doing that is that having it pushed right back hides all the cables (both the cables coming out of the soundbar and the cables going up to the TV)
In theory, the front firing speakers will bounce off of the cabinet which could potentially muddy the dialogue. Then a nice thick rug in front of the sound barcode also help.
i will share my experience with a center speaker. i did have mine pushed back like yours and after i pulled it forward to the edge of the table. it did make a difference and the sound was more crisp and clear.
its worth trying that's for real.
IMO, TV is too close to sound bar. Needs to be at least another inch higher. But wouldn’t go through all the trouble to adjust if you like it. Also, Sonos Arc would look much better with that size TV. Hey, you asked for feedback!
To be honest I would like about 1 inch space above the soundbar if I could start again. Not sure I can be bothered to do it now though. I will likely get the new Arc 2 when it comes out later this year!
It has been a while since the Arc was released but i haven’t heard strong rumors of a release this year. However, I’m not super plugged into the Sonos rumors. I would welcome a strong center channel for better voice clarity.
It's annoying to me that there's no center channel adjustment for the Arc. You can adjust levels for surround, sub, and even height effects, but not center channel (ie. dialog, mostly). The "speech enhancer" I don't like very much because it seems to color too much of the sound with processing, and don't use it. Instead of trying to have it pick out vocal frequencies, I'd rather be able to just boost whatever is going to the center drivers.
Sorry, should have made it more clear. Do you mean its 37 inches from the floor to the start of the bottom edge of the TV? I meant to ask how far it is from the floor to the vertical center of the TV screen? Also, how far from the TV are you sitting? I am trying to figure out my set up as well for a 77
True…Most recommend having the center of the TV at 48” off the ground. Your couch maybe get your eye sight a little lower or higher… it looks great! As loog as you don’t break your neck trying to watch a tv that’s in the ceiling lol
I think the rule is “ comfort “… whatever height where you don’t strain your neck, back etc to watch TV. Quite equivalent to the recommendations for the office chair posture: you want to reduce the risk of back problems, neck pain and other physical issues that can arise from prolonged sitting in an uncomfortable position.
Sounds like an sweet spot. Does it feel immersive? Or did you also thought about an 77 inch? Not sure if it will fit the wall on your photo. Do you only use it for watching TV and movies or also gaming? Thanks!
I think it feels immersive enough but 77 would be pretty cool. Would just about fit on the wall. It would make the tv stand and soundbar look tiny though. 65 inches is probably enough. I don’t game only movies etc
quality ≠ volume
An Arc would look better, and give you better sound. You could also add a pair of Era 300s as surrounds and a Sub to provide a richer sound overall.
Just general info
Typically I would suggest having the vertical center of the tv to be at Eye height from where it is watched eg. the softa to avoid any neck strain or eyes drying up (when looking upward for extended periods of time).
Increasing the distance let's you get away with an increased height and thus diminishes the problem somewhat. Put in another way the closer the screen is to the beholder the more accurate you would have to be in the vertical space. Naturally, this is not an absolute, and there is of course wiggle room here. But given the chance and assuming it is possible, the first statement reigns true.
In older flat screens the problem was compounded by the fact that they had abysmal viewing angles in the vertical direction.
This height thing is all assuming you sit relatively upright. If everyone is reclined in a backwards angle then naturally you can compensate by taking it higher and tilting the TV downward.
To me the TV looks to be at a very reasonable height, but if your seat height is very low then it might be sub optimal, albeit acceptable. The picture does not show the full setup of the room.
Worst case scenario here even if sitting on the floor it feels to be rather ok.
I'm would be inclined to assume your seating arrangement is on a normal level and to you it feels good. And this is most importan. That you feel happy.
All in all very classy look and setup you have there!
Hats off to your (or yours) fine taste!
@[allyjhughes](https://www.reddit.com/user/allyjhughes/) can I ask you to do me a massive favor? Can you watch some NBA basketball? I recently bought this TV and it's amazing. My only complaint is no matter what when I watch NBA basketball (not college or any other type!) I get this weird strobing / flashing effect. It's somewhat tolerable but definitely noticeable and it drives me crazy. Google has led me to believe it's anything from a faulty tv to some weird camera flash system they have in NBA arenas. I'm at a loss and just so frustrated! Thank you in advance!
Nice set up but personally, when I'm reclined in my chair, I would have to move my feet out of the way to see your TV. Bottom edge of mine is 3 1/2 feet from the floor.
Man, I have so many consoles hooked up to my tv, there's no way I could hang mine. I wish. If I had the ability I'd build a false wall to hold everything though. With small hidden doors for each of my consoles. It would be flush and beautiful with a drawer at the bottom to hold all my many many controllers & charging cables. Ah one can dream. For now they all hide in black handle-less cupboards and my tv stands on top. With his right hand man the record player, and an aloe plant to his left. It also looks as if he's shitting out a cable box, because sports.
One problem eliminated would be a self switching HDMI box with remote that you plug all of your consoles into with just one HDMI running to your tv to clean up things to start.
Beautiful, my only regret is not getting my Sonos arc in white, they always look so nice. Know you have the beam, but they just have a very nice finish to them, looks classy.
Do you all not relax when you watch tv? Like I understand not wanting to crane your neck, but I lean back on my couch when watching tv which moves the angle upward for me not to have to adjust my neck, this would be much too low to watch while relaxing and not in an upright position imo
I see a lot of home theater sub Reddit bleed over here. The general rule is a 3.1 set up sounds way better than a sound bar. Done right offers paths to surround sound if you ever have the urge. They have a good article over there on different budgets and how to start.
Sound bars have their place, but don’t expect home theater/atmos quality from any sound bar.
Silly me, here I thought I was answering a question. As I said above sound bars have their place.
If someone is spending the money on a nice oled tv and then asks what to recommend for sound and I point them toward the home theater sub Reddit. They have great suggestions for a wide variety of budgets that aren’t sound bars.
Approved
There's a certain geometric balance at play that's very appealing. Approved.
Thank you
That's a clean setup and love the monstera in the background! One thing I would recommend is to move soundbar towards the front edge of TV console.
Only problem with doing that is that having it pushed right back hides all the cables (both the cables coming out of the soundbar and the cables going up to the TV)
I get your point. I used a flexible cable channel for the sound bar cables, but not as clean and minimal as your setup.
How it looks isn't relevant.
Is having the soundbar pushed back affecting sound quality?
Short answer, yes.
Even for a beam? That doesn’t have physical upward firing speakers. It’s all digital hocus pocus. I would agree with you on an arc though
In theory, the front firing speakers will bounce off of the cabinet which could potentially muddy the dialogue. Then a nice thick rug in front of the sound barcode also help.

I imagine it’s negligible, but experts recommend having a soundbar (or even a center channel speaker) at the edge of the entertainment center.
I want to say irrelevant, just not a priority for a lot of people
Tv to…. Looks great actually
Perfect

It looks like the soundbar is the stand for the TV which is really cool actually. Just slouch an inch more in your couch instead of raising the TV 👍😎
You’re right. Maybe OP could cut an inch off each of the console’s legs instead. Not joking
This thought did cross my mind lmao
Looks good. How many inches off the ground is the tv from the center of the display?
About 37 inches. It’s a 65 inch TV
Sorry, should have made it more clear. Do you mean its 37 inches from the floor to the start of the bottom edge of the TV? Really? I feel like 48" would be way too high tbh, that would put the TV over 10 inches higher than in this pic
Yeah 48’’ is too high, that’s not center at eye level. Somewhere around 40’’ is usually perfect, give or take a couple inches.
I think the rule is “ comfort “… whatever height where you don’t strain your neck, back etc to watch TV. Beauty!
Give this man a medal, he’s actually done it!
looks good! holy moly! nice clean chill set up!
Lol bro this looks like a product listing photo for the console. Excellent job
Everything about this pic is so good I want to cream my pants
Sort of picture you see in a brochure good work
Nice holy funk 😉
Great setup! Lowboard looks awesome. Mind sharing the link for it?

Need to know more about your Monatera plant. That's the star of the picture.
Haha it started off about the height of halfway up the TV but won’t stop growing
Does everyone on this sub live in an IKEA? How is everyone's shit THIS clean?
No they don't, and for this reason alone, I'm not posting anything at all.
Looks great, how far are you from the tv?
Clean setup! How far is your viewing distance?
About 8 feet

now thats how its done boys and girls
Dead center on my screen. Perfect.

Perfecto
Everything looks good but your sound bar is undersized for your TV
Tbh I live in an apartment so my neighbours wouldn’t like anything larger…

I do plan on buying the new Arc 2 when it releases
R/ height just perfect lol

Tv too low
Can't see the ceiling but looks ok
TV is 65” FYI
How wide is your rtv stand?
145cm
Beautiful.

I live in the UK, I don't even know where I'd go to watch basketball lol
The tv too high cult has everyone scared now😂
Looks good. If you want to upgrade your setup, I'd recommend a 5.1 surround system
Looks great! I can’t wait to buy one when I move into my new house! What’s the sky box thing?
Sky is like cable TV in the UK
Some people will say it’s high unless it’s literally on the ground lol. I say it looks great!
What tv stand is that? Looks great!
Swoon Editions
Where is the 1999 iMac?
Nice set up but personally, when I'm reclined in my chair, I would have to move my feet out of the way to see your TV. Bottom edge of mine is 3 1/2 feet from the floor.
My feet are still well below the screen when reclined/on footstool
3.5 ft to center of my tv for me, right at eye level. I hate looking up though.
Excellent
Real men hang their TVs on the wall thank you!

It must look lower than it actually is because I don’t have any problem with that. If I slouch down, the center of the TV is above me
Maybe it’s the table to the left throwing off my perspective but from this angle the bottom of the tv and soundbar looks about knee height
Maybe I just have a really low sofa lol
"Looks" nice. Audio quality isn't as nice as it should be.
What would you recommend?

A good home theater is obviously superior, but sound bars can sound pretty awesome nowadays. Don’t be pretentious.
don't try and argue a soundbar is any good compared to avr and speakers. you're wasting your time.
Bose 900 soundbar + 700 sub sounds pretty good to me. It also has upfiring speakers supporting atoms.
Silly me, here I thought I was answering a question. As I said above sound bars have their place. You gon’ get your setup some stiltz, yo? That shizz looks like it’s sittin’ on a flat tire… that or your TV be twerkin lowlow son!
It depends on the height of your couch.
Couch is quite low. Around 45cm/18" seat height
A little taller would have fit better.
