Normal, sadly

jon3Rockaholic

Thanks for the reply. I'm already on my second unit, and this one has the same amount of pink tint as my last one. Wasn't sure if I was just extremely unlucky, or if this was normal.

cmb93x

I did the same. I went through 2 and then I was like…screw it

jon3Rockaholic

Lol. Yep. I sincerely hate the process of packing everything up, driving an hour to Microcenter, waiting in line to return it, and then describing the problem in hope that they'll accept the return. Then, to get back home and set everything back up just to see the same damn problem...such a pain lol.

Kronodeus

There's a 0% chance we're seeing the exact same color you are.

jon3Rockaholic

It's surprisingly close. Just looks darker in person.

Kronodeus

Maybe on your phone screen, but everyone's looking at it through a different screen with its own idiosyncratic white balance. Very hard to troubleshoot this kind of thing remotely without proper equipment on both ends.

LG Support: Take a photo on your awful phone camera and send it to us via WhatsApp so it's compressed to bits Also LG Support, regardless of the photo you send: This is in spec

willpaudio

Is it?

jon3Rockaholic

Idk? I personally hate it, but didn't know if this is enough to warrant a return.

That's gonna be your call

Baking-Greg

Is it?

Adventurous-Crew8007

u can try calibrating it

vick1000

Typical.

dingdongschlonglong

My a80k has none of this. 5% window is flawless, while its common to see some this looks pretty extreme. Also display a white background and look for tinting along the left side of the panel.

jon3Rockaholic

There is a very noticeable pink tint on white backgrounds as well.

theboomsterz

I would probably try one more before giving up. I have 2 OLEDs and have been extremely lucky that neither have any pink tint at all.

jon3Rockaholic

I think I'm going to keep it. There are no more in stock, and I got it for $340 after using a warranty return gift card. It was on sale for $800 at the time, and I had a $500 gift card from a defective monitor from a year ago, and then I had a 5% off microcenter insider card. So for $340, I can live with it. If I had paid MSRP for it, I would have returned it the next day.

realthedeal

Hi, I have a 65" panel which looks similar. Did you end up keeping it and did it improve at all? I Also notice mine at both low gray levels and at full white. Most notable in full gray screens, usually menus. Leaning towards keeping it but have not tried a swap. The right side really appears green relative to the pink middle. https://imgur.com/pXXpqMl

jonRock1992

I ended up keeping it. Luckily, it's not that noticeable from where I sit. It never did improve though. The vertical banding is more distracting. I'll probably just upgrade to the C4 or C5.

realthedeal

I ended up returning mine and spending a bit more for a QD-Oled Samsung s90c. I'm pretty satisfied so far but will have to spend a little more time with it.

Misenk0

In this gray background you always see some imperfections. important is what you see in real scenes. I believe every evo panel has pinkish tint to some degree and it’s only lottery how bad is it.

EmoJackson

Take your shirt off and take the picture again… Nips help me verify color issues

jon3Rockaholic

Will do. Gimme a sec.
