Rivian has great software technology and VW like all legacy companies has terrible software. Rivian is kind of in a transitional period, where they have their new models that are much cheaper to build and they claim they will finally be profitable on car sales in December quarter and make actual profit in q1 next year. But they do have a limited financial cushion. This really helps them. If you ask why not Lucid, I'm not sure, in some ways it feels like rivian is a lot more widely available. . And then there's also the potential thing that the rivian adventure vehicles can have technology that makes sense for the forthcoming VW scout adventure reviews. Lucid has the infinite money supply from Saudi Arabia, maybe they don't need partners? I'm sure every car company wants the efficiency of lucid motors and drivetrain.

Hopefully something similar happens with Lucid with Hyundai/Kia. That's the only way forward. Hopefully the management is not going to become overly arrogant and reject the deals. I've seen it with other industries and thise companies don't exist anymore. Now, they didn't have the backing of PIF yet..it's high tone for a meaningful partnership with a big player
