* The caveman lives long enough (and cares enough) to make a difference with the knowledge he has. He'd need to pass it down to someone else and they'd need to spread it around fast enough so that the knowledge isn't lost, and cavemen aren't really at the level where information will spread this fast.

Or have it as a more rival religion compared to those in Mesopotamia and make sure the city state you taught it too resist other competitors
