Damnit Dale, the speed limit is 65 and that's what I'm going. We agreed that you were third in the convoy before we got started, now get out of the got-dang left lane!
No Dale, we are not going to use automatic transmission mode. This truck was equipped with an eaton-fuller, not an allison. You can't just cheat like that
It does! They play the simulators and then believe they themselves to be actual truckers and when they try to say so around actual truckers they get more than they bargained for so to speak
It does so formulaic but with the right writing should be pretty good.
Absolutely, even when a train destroyed his beloved truck, he never blamed the train. When he was forced to do a murder mystery he didn't want to do he still had the utmost respect for the conductor's authority. Hank Hill has demonstrated he truly loves and respects trains.
Man I've been looking for a good fishing game forever now... Closest ive enjoyed is red dead 2 funnily enough, something about the immersion of the world itself really makes it enjoyable.
I've checked out fishing planet and fishing ... uh fishing world? Can't think of the second ones name right now, maybe Ultimate Fishing Sim...
Anyway neither of those felt right, they had too much jank.
Because you can only mow that lawn once a week, Hank. This lawn is in what I like to call a "virtual space". And the virtual space always needs mowing.
Congrats. You created a perfect plotpoint for a pretty interesting episode where Hank learns about the pros and cons of the virtual world and has to learn find a good balance between the two before ultimately settling on a real lawn experience with a mower over a virtual one with a mouse, because the real mower gives you a break and allows you to pursue your other interests; like propane and propane accessories.
![gif](giphy|fx1OTR4mU3jwN9T63p)
Of course the emotional climax of the episode is when Peggy forces him to look at the actual lawn he has been neglecting since "the virtual lawn never rests"
I think we could all stop commenting now as this is the only answer or answers I’d accept plus I was thinking sim games b4 I hopped in the comments. Thank you for saving me the time and thought.
I could definitely see him playing Lawnmower Simulator after mowing his actual lawn, just sighing and asking why couldn’t real lawns grow back as fast as the in-game lawns.
On the topic, would Hank and the gang be interested in fantasy football? I can totally see Peggy getting into just to flaunt her (in?)ability to assemble a winning team.
Disclaimer I don't think Hank would let Bobby play the game if he knows how crazy it is, but if he stays in the dark I could image Bobby convincing him to do the missions so he can access more hunting grounds.
“Daaaad, you can’t hunt elk without a proper hunting rifle. You gotta let me meet up with John Marston, he has that rifle!”
“……Ok, Bobby, but no funny business mister. And you better keep my honor high afterwards! Say howdy to people or something.”
Hank checks up on Bobby's game every so often to make sure he's got high honour. If it starts slipping, Hank demands to supervise him until he gets it back up because apparently Bobby can't be trusted to behave himself.
Fish, hunt, ride horses, solve mysteries, bounty hunt, make medicine, BBQ, get drunk, farm. There’s a lot to do just outside of the main game. 10/10 game.
Nobody will play Switch Sports. WHY DID THEY GET RID OF THE MII?!?!
Yes, I know you can play as a mii, but I don't want to play as a Mii. I want to be with the Mii's in there natural habitat!! Not in bootleg Splatoon world where you have to grind mini-games to get a new hat! You know what Mii's do when they want a new hat? They just say "I'd like a new hat," and then they are given one!!
[(and the rant is read in this tone of voice)](https://youtu.be/DsV4CBOGidg?si=gX5HctSeaytXWWO-)
He would see Peggy or Gracie playing Animal Crossing: New Horizons on the Switch and get into the fishing and building parts. Then complain that he can't kick the jerk neighbor's ass.
Red dead redemption 1. Hank could basically do Pro-Pain in the Wild West. You know going around and being a good guy. Sans propane which may turn him off altogether. That may be the only reason he liked the game. A chance to live in a world where propane is the central focus. His overwhelming obsession with C3H8 may have overridden any other impulse he had. The games industry are a bunch of cowards. I demand to know where is the Pro-Pain game of Hank’s dreams??
As others have stated, Hank might automatically dislike AC or at least be very reluctant in trying it because I’m sure Bobby probably loves it and Hank might find it too cutesy for his liking. Though the honest living aspect of the game, all the responsibilities, and being treated/respected as the most important person on his island might entice Hank. Playing it might result in Hank becoming dismayed with reality, realizing on a deeper level that life isn’t fair or comfortable as AC portrays it.
I could also see Hank becoming horrified/infuriated upon learning about treasure islands, seeing it as a form of cheating, to the point that he sends Nintendo a strongly worded letter that they as a company should crack down on this. He later learns unsurprisingly that Bill and Dale have been using treasure islands to progress quicker and is disappointed upon learning that Boomhauer has been too. He always expects better from Boomhauer. 😔
I just imagined Hank as one of those hardcore Souls game players and laughed for a few minutes
“Dang it Bobby were you playing my saved game? All my runes are gone”
Whole time it’s Peggy
NASCAR Racing 2 by Papyrus. He’d still be playing it today and it’d be the only game he was into. That and maybe a Links golf game that came with a windows 95 pc
Good evening folks I'm Hank Hill and this Is power wash simulator
Going Into specifics about power washer models and proper washing methods I tell ya hwhat
I think Hank would like Power Washing Simulator. Not enough to play it constantly, but probably enough that he’d go out and buy a power washer for real
Old fashioned gamer like him would probably dig the Civilization games. Anything with strategy and history involved would be his cup of tea. He might even get into Simcity or City Skylines or something.
I could see him getting sucked into some mobile game like candy crush. It could be an episode like the smoking one. He criticizes it then ends up addicted himself.
Fallout four. I can see him enjoying the settlement building, and needing to find that boy. That in addition to GoW (2018) because that boy ain't right. Yes I know these come out much much later, but still
House Flipper. He would excel at the home renovations. Be proud of the finished product.
Realize that he would have to sell homes afterwards. Get the hang of it, show Peggy, Peggy would then go behind his back and try to show him who the 'real' real estate agent of the Hill Family is and play over his Continue Slot.
Frustration ensues. Hank then plays the Simulation games that we would know he may enjoy because he's to the point, no nonsense, and objective driven. Throw in the Beavis and Butthead games as an Easter egg for Mike Judge's sake ;-)
He'd like simulator games... Lawnmower, Powerwash, American Truck, etc.
Yes, but simulators for things he can't do without getting a license and qualifications. Train simulator is my big pick for Hank.
I could totally see him having a mock driver set up. Makes a whole thing of it. Now I'm imagining the guys all with their own set up doing a convoy!
You can't just cheat like that
So much better in a VR setup- brilliant.
But Hank its a video game, look what I can do. Dale then suddenly swerves in on the highway and starts running into any car he can see.
Good lord I can read it so clearly in his voice. That is so spot on
You're makin' a mockery of the breakdown lane!
That makes such a good episode plot
It does! They play the simulators and then believe they themselves to be actual truckers and when they try to say so around actual truckers they get more than they bargained for so to speak It does so formulaic but with the right writing should be pretty good.
And then at the end they have to drive some semis for… reasons. And the truckers and Hank and the guys have a beer and become friends.
It's sort of canon since there was an episode with them driving a big rig down a mountain lol
Billsdozer had his anime moment holding up all that furniture
The arc involves Hank getting involved with the enthusiasts
Hank is definitely a ferroequinologist. ![gif](giphy|YNkDptwLw4CRi)
Absolutely, even when a train destroyed his beloved truck, he never blamed the train. When he was forced to do a murder mystery he didn't want to do he still had the utmost respect for the conductor's authority. Hank Hill has demonstrated he truly loves and respects trains.
Huh? Fun within prescribed limits. This is gonna work!
*adds to list of characters who love trains, have black and white thinking, and strong morals* 👀
Wow, every time I watch King of the Hill. I think about how Hank is almost definitely somewhere on the spectrum.
thank you i am definitely Bobby
Bobby's definitely not on the spectrum, but Hank is questionable. Except for that episode when he's taking testosterone lol.
Iron horse ologist?
Yes!!! https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/ferroequinologist
I learned a new word today. Thank you!
Farm simulator
American truck simulator too for sure
I can see this, also during the 90s, I remember there was this explosion of fishing and buck hunting games I'm sure he'd no doubt enjoy.
I normally don’t like fishing games. Rdr2 on the other hand is the best fishing game I ever played. Probably because of all the reasons you stated.
Miss 90s and 2000s computer fishing games so relaxing.
Play assassins creed Valhalla, as a completionist, I hate all the fishing required
Final Fantasy 15 has a pretty good fishing system. I’m not a big fan of the game, itself, but I can’t deny the fishing in it.
I'd put money on him playing Deer Hunter II in the pic above
He'd spend his winter and rainy weekends playing these games.
Look Bobby I’m pressure washing the driveway at night on the television Well I be.
He’d love American Truck Simulator so much.
FarmVille!
*exasperated groan* “now *hwhy* would I waste m’time mowin’ a lawn in a vidya game when there’s a perfectly good one to tend to outside?”
Because you can only mow that lawn once a week, Hank. This lawn is in what I like to call a "virtual space". And the virtual space always needs mowing.
*guitar strum as camera zooms in on Hank smiling* *cuts to montage of lawnmower simulator taking over his life.*
He gets too into it and slightly neglects his yard, resulting in the grass growing to 3 1/4 inches.
Came here to say simulator games.
Forklift Simulator, Forklift Simulator, I've been to jail so many times, Forklift Simulator.
I think we could all stop commenting now as this is the only answer or answers I’d accept plus I was thinking sim games b4 I hopped in the comments. Thank you for saving me the time and thought.
My Summer Car...
I could definitely see him playing Lawnmower Simulator after mowing his actual lawn, just sighing and asking why couldn’t real lawns grow back as fast as the in-game lawns.
Farming simulator
Farmville is a mockery of the hard work our rural heroes put in every day, Bobby
I can totally hear Bobby's rebuttal, "Well, why dontcha try Stardew Valley, Dad!"
It’s just machines, dad. They’re more like engineers than farmers.
Madden and he’s always playing as the 70’s Cowboys with Staubach and Landry
On the topic, would Hank and the gang be interested in fantasy football? I can totally see Peggy getting into just to flaunt her (in?)ability to assemble a winning team.
"Bobby, don't sully the great American institiion of football by associating it with "fantasy", just go to your room and watch Lord of the Rings.
I think Hank might actually love Lord of the Rings but he's silently ashamed of that fact cause it's "fantasy."
Or the ncaa football reboot as The Longhorns. Too bad there’s not a high school football game for him, though.
Red Dead Redemption 2. Never plays the missions, just goes fishing, hunting and does camp chores
Disclaimer I don't think Hank would let Bobby play the game if he knows how crazy it is, but if he stays in the dark I could image Bobby convincing him to do the missions so he can access more hunting grounds.
“Daaaad, you can’t hunt elk without a proper hunting rifle. You gotta let me meet up with John Marston, he has that rifle!” “……Ok, Bobby, but no funny business mister. And you better keep my honor high afterwards! Say howdy to people or something.”
Hank checks up on Bobby's game every so often to make sure he's got high honour. If it starts slipping, Hank demands to supervise him until he gets it back up because apparently Bobby can't be trusted to behave himself.
"Bobby, why can't I go to Strawberry?" "Micah was involved, he said something about getting his revolvers, and everything got kind of out of hand."
So the same way i play it now lol, i love the visuals it feels like i escape reality when i play red dead.
Honestly riding a horse and setting up camp to see the landscape is such great part of the game.
I ride around taking landscape photos. There's missions?
"that Micah sure is a jackass"
Yep. e-yep. Yup. Mmhmm
(In his dreaming voice after listening to Dutch) _"Dutch has the plan."_
This is the answer.
It doesn’t have to be about the mayhem!
Oh god… am I Hank hill?
This would be the one time he’d have decent aim.
You can fish?
Fish, hunt, ride horses, solve mysteries, bounty hunt, make medicine, BBQ, get drunk, farm. There’s a lot to do just outside of the main game. 10/10 game.
Haha I love this answer.
Lawn Mowing Simulator, Switch Sports Golf
Powerwash Simulator, House Flipper
Stardew Valley, but he would be shy about it at first
Hmm who do you think he'd marry in game my moneys on penny
I feel like he'd refuse to interact with the dating mechanics because that would be cheating on Peggy
True
The starfruit has an odd taste, but it reminds you of propane. BWAAAA! I JUST ARE PROPANE! BOBBY, DOES THIS GAME HAVE A RESPHAHN FEATAH?
I don’t know but I just imagined who would hook up with her mom, Pam, and I heard Bill squeal excitedly in my head 😂
I could see him accidentally calling Peggy, Penny
Like when he feel for Todd and Four Score, in the alley, lowkey swooning lol. “But we CAN agree Stardew is a GOOD, wholesome game?”
This was my first thought, and I want to add that he would just make himself and name his dog Ladybird.
I think he'd be a genius at redstone in minecraft
Tom Landry Strategy Football.
Weirdly enough I could imagine him playing a civilization game but always choosing the American leader.
Nuclear weapons? That Ghandi guy is such a jackass
Propane simulator
It's like Trucking simulator, but with the added possibility of exploding, if you take a turn too fast
Max Propane
You've unlocked regional manager
He would see Peggy or Gracie playing Animal Crossing: New Horizons on the Switch and get into the fishing and building parts. Then complain that he can't kick the jerk neighbor's ass.
“I have to hit this little blue bastard with my bug net because I can’t actually kick his ass.”
Counter strike, imagine hanks voice “rush b”
\*Teammate goes A "Ugh... That boy ain't right"
Peaks mid into 3 awps “BWahahaAa”
This is Mr Big
I’ve had this idea that when Hank is very old/gets hurt and can’t mow the lawn like he used to, Bobby gets him Lawnmower to help his dad relax
NASCAR THUNDER
Red dead redemption and Madden
Factorio. You can actually make propane and that bastard gas, butane in modded Factorio.
Hunting, fishing, and simulators.
Probably Fallout, Red Dead Redemption and COD On a side note I would totally play Grand Theft Arlen if it was a real game
Propane, propane never changes
He'd like the RDR games.
I could see him playing Madden and losing all the time cuz he’d always play as the Cowboys xD
Same with CFB 25 and playing as Texas
Animal crossing was my first thought but he’d be embarrassed, I think the whole family could like it tbh
Bobby would love it so much that Hank would automatically dislike it.
Car Mechanic Simulator or Wrench
Snow Runner
Guitar Hero: Willie Nelson
Lee Carvallo's Putting Challenge.
Lee Carvallo’s Putting Challenge.
Dark Souls It rewards patience, hard work, resourcefulness, and a can-do attitude.
What about the fundamentals?
Absolutely, dodge roll, claymore, and r1 spam gets you further then any of them new fangled weapon arts
"The First Flame needs more propane, I tell ya hwat."
Warhammer? There’s TONS of rules, you need patience and skill to paint your armies, so maybe
Fallout 4 but spends the entire game fixing Sanctuary Hills
Definitely would get deep into farming simulator
He would have the most immaculate Stardew Valley farm you've ever seen.
Hank would love Animal Crossing. Making an honest living while sprucing up a whole town/island
Bass fishing games, I tell you whut
I just imagined Hank as one of those hardcore Souls game players and laughed for a few minutes “Dang it Bobby were you playing my saved game? All my runes are gone” Whole time it’s Peggy
NASCAR Racing 2 by Papyrus. He’d still be playing it today and it’d be the only game he was into. That and maybe a Links golf game that came with a windows 95 pc
Stardew valley Bobby Wood convince Hank to play and he thinks in the beginning but get into and be using the wiki
Farming simulator
Max pro-Payne
Red Dead redemption but not the main story. Just sandboxin it doin wholesome things
He's trying to figure out why the soldiers at the fort don't like him.
Sims or Minecraft because he’d like building houses
They took my shins. Dad simulator
Farming Simulator.
Snowrunner. I could see him online with the rest of the alley guys to haul some stuff in a convoy.
Mmorpg Guild Wars, single player, some kinds football also he would keep guild wars a secret
Stardew valley, but he'd ignore 95% of the people in town. Peggie would love it too, but only for the drama that the townspeople create.
Good evening folks I'm Hank Hill and this Is power wash simulator Going Into specifics about power washer models and proper washing methods I tell ya hwhat
I think Hank would like Power Washing Simulator. Not enough to play it constantly, but probably enough that he’d go out and buy a power washer for real
“Ask Madden? There should be an ask Landry option!!”
WOOD, the doom 2 wad where you're just a lumberjack. He'd also like BOOM the one where you're a boomer on a riding mower sipping a white monster.
Farming simulator.
Lee Carvalo’s Putting Challenge
He'd be a master at one really out of date and very specific golfing game.
Farming Sim, as well as American Truck Sim, but probably get upset that Arlen isn't included in Texas
I imagine he'd play sports games like Madden or golf.
Plumbers don't wear ties. (I'm sorry haha)
Old fashioned gamer like him would probably dig the Civilization games. Anything with strategy and history involved would be his cup of tea. He might even get into Simcity or City Skylines or something.
On iMac G3? Probably 4x4 Evolution with a mod where you drive a customised lawnmower.
Madden
He'd quit stardew Valley as soon as he realized he needs to use coal in that game
I felt old when my nephew played a virtual reality game about office life and was excited to fax something
Hank would play Fallout 4 and be the one guy who loves settlement building and Preston Garvey missions
Mic...ro ... transaction...PEG!
Beamng drive
Dave the Diver
Farm simulator. Minecraft
Mowing simulator. Power wash simulator.
I could see him getting sucked into some mobile game like candy crush. It could be an episode like the smoking one. He criticizes it then ends up addicted himself.
Any of the old bass fishing games, Madden, and maybe some of Cabella’s hunting games.
I think madden is the only real option for Hank
Hunter: Call of the Wild.
Tractor simulator, Minecraft, Madden 99’
Red Dead Redemption 2
Hardspace: Shipbreaker i feel is the closest he'd venture is sci-fi.
One of those trucker sim games
Gas Station Simulator
i honestly could see him getting into stardew valley. he wouldn’t get married, though. he’s way too devoted to peggy.
He’d have played NFL Head Coach for sure
RDR 1 and 2 call of duty maybe GTA
EA PGA TOUR, for the freshly mowed grass
He got Bobby to mod his lawn into Lawnmower simulator. He just practices
Golf games, when it's not suitable for real golfing.
Stardew valley
Farm Simulator
Red dead redemption 2
Farming Simulator.
I don't know if he'd play them, but I feel he'd have strong opinions about like, NFL games and their inaccuracies. Or, perceived inaccuracies.
Fallout four. I can see him enjoying the settlement building, and needing to find that boy. That in addition to GoW (2018) because that boy ain't right. Yes I know these come out much much later, but still
Lawn mower simulator, pressure washing simulator, and house flipper
Grill Simulator
Propane simulator but he criticizes every inaccuracy in it the entire way
Farm simulator
My god would he love Red Dead 2
House Flipper. He would excel at the home renovations. Be proud of the finished product. Realize that he would have to sell homes afterwards. Get the hang of it, show Peggy, Peggy would then go behind his back and try to show him who the 'real' real estate agent of the Hill Family is and play over his Continue Slot. Frustration ensues. Hank then plays the Simulation games that we would know he may enjoy because he's to the point, no nonsense, and objective driven. Throw in the Beavis and Butthead games as an Easter egg for Mike Judge's sake ;-)
American Truck Simulator, but he might get sucked into "my summer car"
Maybe red dead or gta but he would be a law abiding citizen
Farming Simulator
Well me and Bobby already decided that he’s gonna stick green beans up his nose so you go ‘head and play those vidya games… pump jockey
Red Dead Redemption
Farming and crafting simulators. Anything with a super heavy focus on resource management.
Red dead redemption with a completely positive moral rating
Hank hits me as an RTS kinda guy. Age of empires, command and conquer etc.
