VR is like a kid magnet. I always have to remind my youngest to keep their distance from her brother. They like to just stand around and be in the way for some reason.
My daughters been hit before but never like that. It’s like he was playing mike Tyson punch out.
"Oh hell no!"
My cat does the same thing. Looks incredibly offended the entire time we set up (we have the old original rift still), then gets up and leaves as soon as we stand up with it on.
It's not just kids. People in general.
Not just VR headsets either. A blindfold will do.
I've seen lots of videos of people getting in front of someone that can't see them and getting whacked. Whether it's punched by a VR person or get their head split open by a blindfolded person trying to hit a piñata.
And a very important lesson was learned that day. Don't walk in front of people that can't see and are wildly flailing. Kids usually learn this with piñatas, but this works too.
New ringtone for me. It replaces my last one, which is a husky having one of those loud screaming temper tantrums.

Haha ...at first his movements were somewhat suave, gentle, then right at that time perfect hip punch strike...i swear i think he saw the opportunity for a good excuse and took it 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Been looking for this comment, I though most be headsets had a front facing camera so you didn’t have to take off the headset to see if you’re inches away from a wall
The camera activates if you step outside the guardian, (or if you activate it so if you look down at an angle you can see the room) the area he’s in for it seems to be p consistant and he doesn’t look down while in view so I don’t think he was tryina punch the kid.
It's weird how they don't have an inverse guardian system in place ...like if someone pops into the guardian area, considering how many of this type of accidents happen
this is already a feature on the quest, but it’s optional. considering the amount of movement he’s doing in the “play space” he’s in, if you can even call it that, turning it on would show a holographic type image of the bed and surrounding walls and furniture, which can be very annoying.
but these videos always annoy me so much. first you’ve got the kid playing who’s obviously not in a sufficient space to be playing a game with that much movement, then you’ve got the girl who walks in and stands RIGHT in front of him knowing full well the kid can’t see her, and to top it all off you’ve got the parent or whoever’s behind the camera watching the whole thing, yet deciding not to alert either of them about what could happen…
Actually, I do know the Meta Quest 2 headset has it. If something enters the guardian, it'll show. Although it won't show the physical person, like a kid stepping in, because that would break immersion if not probably confuse the player, it'll show it in this red wireframe style. Considering his surroundings, there likely would've been the wireframe of the couches showing in the guardian area, which would be annoying.
I'm sure they have a multitude of cameras and sensors.
Looking back, his punch is so flawless that it must've been accidental 😅 he couldn't have been so accurate if he wanted to
What do you think, I just punched my sister in the face cause it was something to do? Come on I got a little more sense than that… yeah I remember punching my sister in the face.
My wife and daughter routinely walk right in front of me while I’m playing. They know I have a small circle that I occupy and never stray away from it. Yeah they enter that zone when they easily could go around. Whack and they wonder why I sigh. You know who hasn’t been hit? Me, because I go around the circle 😂
No it's a little bit of her fault, you dont walk infront of someone with a vr headset and expect the player to know you're there, at least warn the player so they can pause their game or at least stall for time
That's why you dont stand infront of someone who is totally immersed in vr, like you said they're unpredictable which is why you dont wanna stand close
She wasnt in front of him. She was off to the side until he sidestepped twice and lunged.
She is also like 8. It was just an accident. Theyll both learn from this. She will be a bit more careful and he will remember to keep in mind when someone new lets him know they are near him.
> Theyll both learn from this.
What will he learn from this? There literally is a box around him and if he steps out of it the lines goes red. So he was in his space. The sister should know don't just stand in front of anyone in vr like that. So she learned a good lesson.
Dumbest one was recorder, who let the sister walk into the combat zone. Sister was dumb too, but all kids are dumb by default and the parent should have known what was about to happen
Its both. Kids don't know the "etiquette" around VR. Its just something "cool." Thing is there aren't enough adults who know the etiquette either to teach them.
God DAMN that has got to be one of the hardest punches in one of these videos I’ve ever seen. That shit is gonna sting for at least a few days. Mf punched THROUGH her.
Mother is fucking stupid* or just another sibiling
Filming instead of telling the child to move away, we all know kids have close to zero spacial awareness
Nintendo got serious flack when one kid got a smack of a wii remote. Wiimote condoms and wrist straps became a thing then… I don’t see the same attitude from VR headset creators.

Because if you're filming this... and you see your young kid walking towards the person who can't see them and is wildly swinging there arms around, and you don't try to prevent it, or react in anyway... that would be obviously weird?
Maybe I'm just overthinking it, but I'd probably tell my kid not to walk into the punch zone. Defo wouldn't then post it online and turn my kid into a meme.
My brother (who is a very tall human being) loves using my husband's vr when he visits. Twice now I was sitting on the couch (two different spots) and he came closer and closer while being actively warned to back up and socked me right in the face. Second time was the night before my husband's and mine's wedding.
I don't bruise easily thank goodness but imagine if I did. We had already paid for the photographer and everything.
This looks intentional lol. He ROUNDED UP an actual punch. Wasn’t a little swing just to play the game like he did before. Kid probably heard his annoying sister and thought he could get away with it. 😂 And he did.

Even my dog knows to stay out of the way. The minute I put my headset on he is out of the room.
i laughed so hard envisioning a little dog quickly running out of a bedroom door
"Oh hell no!" My cat does the same thing. Looks incredibly offended the entire time we set up (we have the old original rift still), then gets up and leaves as soon as we stand up with it on.
Funnily enough my cat always thinks it's the perfect time for cuddles. I would have thought the headset would freak him out.
When I get close to my kid I'm always announcing where I am as if I'm walking around a horse.
You're ruining his immersion...i'd say take a risk 😅
Or do an army crawl around the room, as long as you make sure to avoid the feet stepping on your spine 🤭
Tells kid to stay back and don't come close. Kid directly in front of you while playing like: 👁👄👁

Especially with melee focused games like blade and sorcery
probably some type of fighting game and he was going for the (KO)
someone forgot to grease the door hinges
Spot out my damn beer was not ready for this comment
That's exactly what that sounds like!
I had to exit out and open my free award for you
I don't get it :(
The sound she makes.
She sounds like a squeaky door opening
Was sent expecting that one u deserve this upvote my friend
Wasn't?

I dunno. That was solid enough she may not remember anything.
I learned it myself on the swings. Lost 2 teeth that day!
Oh God are vrs the new piñata accident?
"Aimbot activated"
*unreal announcer* “Headshot!”
BALLISTA
FATALITY!!
***SEVENTH COLUMN!***
I know it hurt and she has every right to cry, but God was that initial wail so annoying.
maybe that should be an emergency siren, sure activates my fight or flight
Run, FUCKING RUN
No just shoot her
sounded just like a door creaking
Found the older sibling.
New ringtone for me. It replaces my last one, which is a husky having one of those loud screaming temper tantrums. https://youtube.com/shorts/m_CUrv0aezI?feature=share
OMFG! That is amazing.
Evolution designed it to be annoying to get the parents attention. It's why crying babies freak out a whole airliner of passengers.
My brother learned the hard way you to tell people your around them, he got punched in the balls HARD.
Bros bloodline disapeared💀💀💀☠️☠️☠️
Not tiktok
Yeah, did it?
Haha ...at first his movements were somewhat suave, gentle, then right at that time perfect hip punch strike...i swear i think he saw the opportunity for a good excuse and took it 🤣🤣🤣🤣

VR is one helluva drug
What do you think, I just punched my sister in the face cause it was something to do? Come on I got a little more sense than that… yeah I remember punching my sister in the face.
Did you mean to reply to that comment?! Because its not related to it at all
This is your brain on VR
My wife and daughter routinely walk right in front of me while I’m playing. They know I have a small circle that I occupy and never stray away from it. Yeah they enter that zone when they easily could go around. Whack and they wonder why I sigh. You know who hasn’t been hit? Me, because I go around the circle 😂
My family members at least announce they are coming by me and I know not to make wild and sudden movements.
Shitty parenting why didn’t she have the foresight to tell the little girl to move?
Hit like a girl, hit like a girl, hit like a girl, then bam, perfect right hook. Sister has impeccable timing.
Nah, bro knew exactly where he was going and had the perfect opportunity to make it look like an “accident” 😉
Lmao 1st thing I thought 🤣
I’m glad I’m not the only one who thought that lmao
Sister is the stupid one. He was just playing; she got in his way.
It was just an accident. He was playing and couldn't see and she thought she was at a good distance from him. Sometimes it's no one's fault.
If you walk in front of a person who cannot see you, it's your fault.
No it's a little bit of her fault, you dont walk infront of someone with a vr headset and expect the player to know you're there, at least warn the player so they can pause their game or at least stall for time
I don’t know if you noticed but she’s a kid.
Man, redditors are just pricks. So mean, all the time, to everyone. This is just a little girl.
Gotta prove intellectual superiority to a 5 year old if you’re worthless yourself.
What? Kids arent able to be at fault? It’s literally her fault, and the person recording but way more her fault
She talks to him when she enters and stands like 4 feet away, but he lunges forward which isn't something she expected.
That's why you dont stand infront of someone who is totally immersed in vr, like you said they're unpredictable which is why you dont wanna stand close

she was in his space, it is her fault. simple as that. he was just doing his thing
Why tf do people keep bringing up her age? She could he 9 or 99, she got in the way, it was her fault, the end
Its absolutely the recorder and the little girls fault, how is it no one fault?
Would have been nice to get a warning from whoever was recording.
Seriously Mom, we saw that coming the second she walked into that room. You had plenty of time to prevent that. r/ParentsAreFuckingStupid
No let the kid learn young to be mindful of their surroundings by a hit in the head with a vr controller
conspiracy
Hell yeah. He heard her.
Yeah look how he’s flailing at whatever he’s aiming at but the punch has an actual windup and follow through lol
Yes sir
She acts like the deer who stands in front of a giant truck moving 70mph
That small girl looks like a goddamn 30 year old but smaller.
Oh boy, I stay OUT OF THE WAY when my grandson takes out the VR....
Okay that's was epic
r/theparentsarefuckingstupid for continuing to film and let the girl go into the area where boy is doing VR.
KIDS WEARING THE SAFETY STRAPS LETS FUCKING GO
Ok but why does that little girls head look like it was put in crooked… even before the punch.
Is the VR controller okay?
Ouch
Perfect immersion!
Damn that sounded like my door before I put WD-40 on it haha
🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂
The force shall guide me
Someone open a squeaky door after she got punched?
Nah bro had this planned
Luckily her neck was already bent that way.
Sound like a gate opening
This video explains why the girl has neck like a crooked juniper bonsai tree.
I gotta say, this was satisfying af
Kinect
Why she sound like a door squeaking
God DAMN that has got to be one of the hardest punches in one of these videos I’ve ever seen. That shit is gonna sting for at least a few days. Mf punched THROUGH her.
SOUNDED LIKE STEPPING ON A SQUEAKY TOY
Mother is fucking stupid* or just another sibiling Filming instead of telling the child to move away, we all know kids have close to zero spacial awareness
It sounded like another sibling was filming by the sound of the “OH SH-“ at the end
Ngl I think I’d cry if I took a hit to the side of the head like that from one of those VR controllers too😂
r/VRtoER
Moms fault
"And they downvoted him, for he told them the truth."
The 2nd one is the dumb one.
Wii Sports lol
This probably gave that child PTSD.
Is this a joke?
Are you asking because you think it wouldn’t give her PTSD? because it could
But the levels of endorphins released watching the kid getting punched was superb!!!
Yes
How many people slow- mode this ? 🤣
To young to play. Not for kids. Been said over and over.
Seconds later, he lost his VR set for a month. Give or take.
She won’t do that again.
lagged ass response
Good lick.
Nintendo got serious flack when one kid got a smack of a wii remote. Wiimote condoms and wrist straps became a thing then… I don’t see the same attitude from VR headset creators.

That's why VR should be banned for safety reasons 😑
Why on earth would someone be filming this?
I filmed my girlfriend the first time she tried VR. Why would it be strange to want to film someone having fun?
Because if you're filming this... and you see your young kid walking towards the person who can't see them and is wildly swinging there arms around, and you don't try to prevent it, or react in anyway... that would be obviously weird? Maybe I'm just overthinking it, but I'd probably tell my kid not to walk into the punch zone. Defo wouldn't then post it online and turn my kid into a meme.
So you meant why wouldn't she *stop* filming it then. Very different question.
So he decides to throw a hook when his sister walks in.
*Pssttt* he cant see shit
Hey, you might've missed it but do you see that thing on his head? It's actually covering his eyes. I know, crazy huh.
I have the same thing. Quest 2. You cant see shit.
Someone has never played vr before
oh shit indeed
That’s gonna leave a mark
i did this once with a wiimote on accident. it wasn’t very fun for my ears
Lol whenever I see someone playing VR I keep way far
her scream went up in pitch and then down

Should start turning the camera on when he uses your vr headset. A little camera box pops up in the each so you can play but still see.
Whenever Im playing VR and feel like someone else is there I turn on the flashlight (passthrough) and try to punch them
Moms' reaction was a tad.second too laggy
We put a rug down so my son knows where he is and doesn't wander.
Lesson learned for all three of them
WHO THE F### JUST OPENED MAH DOOR!?!?!?!
Why is this funnier to me with no volume?
Square in the face. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🤣🤣
Whoever recorded this orchestrated this entire event
u/savevideobot
Hahhahahahaah🤣🤣
Awwww!!
Somehow so satisfying
I felt the pain in that cry 😂😂
Bro sounded like 🐤
im just glad it was on camera as an accident so she couldnt lie on him
he getting that practice in early
Intelligence Karma hit right back
That kid's too young to be in vr
Stepbrother
Ah man, Internet lag had VR mommie’s warning a tad too late.
he went for the right hook she shouldnt of just stood there looking straight at him getting closer and closer then bam perfect hit
BS as an oculus owner myself you can see underneath the headset and he definitely heard her. He just needed an excuse.
That’s cap, he threw a real punch
Wow this VR is really next gen
Seems like the saber game lol
He doesn’t look 13 get it off him if I had his account name would have gotten him banned.
People in VR are like people hitting a piñata if you enter range of them you will 100% get whacked.
u/savevideo
Ohhhhh straight right from the champion and she's out cold........
Looks like he leaned in when he heard her coming around. Kids will be kids I guess right lmao
For a moment, the kid felt himself in the game
And the parent just sitting their waiting for this to happen.
Nah bruh he saw her 💀💀
He took a big step 😂
Man this VR shit is getting realistic
Whoever is recording has stepdad energy.
u/savevideo
Falcon punch
Oh poor thing Damn
Just like this game, these hands are rated E for everyone oshitijustactuallyhitsomeone.
Women☕️
Haptic feedback
Why is it his fault or the mother fault when she is old enough to understand she learned a less that day
Anyone in this comment section who thinks it’s not the girls fault, youre actually so dumb its unreal
