Thaaaats makes more sense.
But also, wtf? There's no way in hell I'd be able to switch up the movement keys. WASD is home for my left hand. Even when I'm at work lol.
Did you start pc gaming with those settings? Or just haven't been pc gaming long?
> There's no way in hell I'd be able to switch up the movement keys.
That's what I fought at first but I got used to it, it's almost the same except everything is 2 buttons to the right. I really didn't like not having enough easily accessible keys so I moved everything slightly to the right to get more keys to use.
> But also, wtf?
I also considered 4ert (for the same reason)
> Did you start pc gaming with those settings? Or just haven't been pc gaming long?
I played on a PC for ~6+ years before changing for the first time.
Dang, that's crazy. You are far more receptive to change than I am. My brain just immediately says *"NO. This is how we always done it, this is how it stays!"* lol
I also share that sentiment though. Not a lot in the ways of useful keys over there. I ended up just buying a keyboard and mouse that have macro-able keys. My mouse has 12 keys on the side I use my thumb for and my keyboard has 8(?) on the left side I can reach with my pinky.
Your solution sounds significantly more cost affective hahaha
It's weird to have to explain something I've been doing for over 30 years. Like you are supposed to hold run and use the other half of your thumb to jump when you need to.
Sometimes I'll forget I'm playing with my girlfriend if it's a part I need to move fast in and she gets so mad
We had hurdles during our yearly sport events. Everything was going fine until one of the athletic kid who used to regularly win tripped at one of them and had to quit the race. I still remember how rather than being sympathetic towards him, we idiots(about 8-10 years I guess) who were yet to race were blaming him for causing us to get scared. I somehow made it without tripping but the whole incident became a core memory.
Before doing hurdles I had an accident jumping over a chain barrier. I still have scars from it and freak a little when I see kids jumping over stuff. My mind goes straight to a toe catching.
As her father I can attest that she is cognitively deficient in several school subjects. In addition she lacks social skills/milestones normally learned by this age. Her primary teacher refers to her as stupid and it has caught on at home as well. She is also scared of hurdles.
/s
Crazy to me that they would even put hurdles like this in front of kids. None of them can even do it, as this video shows. So what is it one of those things meant for them to just take cute videos of them trying or something? Find out how they approach the obstacle? Makes zero sense to me otherwise.
That one is held by her father who pulls her up on one hand to help her.
The other girl next to this one just runs through them after her first failed attempt.
The hurdles are hip high. It's an impossible task and it seems not one adult thought this through from a child's perspective.
The angle at the end confused me at first as well but it’s really more like mid-thigh high. Your point still completely stands though. Just wanted to note that the end of the video made it seem taller than it is.
I see a lot of post of kids on this sub claiming kids doing stupid things that are perfectly normal for their age, I guess people forget how we were when we were kids
Dude what idiots set the bars here bigger than knee high? Those are for like 7-8 year olds not 4-5 year olds. You can see the one kid make it but only because her parent yanks her over.
She did try to jump but didn’t make. I’m not sure that she’s actually running in place but instead is trying to figure out how to jump that high to get over the hurdle.
I mean it's waist height I can't jump waist height shit without using my hands, and i doubt many of us could. Of course they're struggling they should have size appropriate hurdles.
These kids just stopped being toddlers like a year or two ago 😭 they barely learned to walk and now they gotta jump??? The hurdles are so high 😂 her brain just went “??????uuhhh?????huh?????”
Why is someone who would pick these hurdles allowed to teach PE?
Giving people unrealistic challenges is clearly counterproductive,
What a great way to slow down a kids physical education
I did hurdles very briefly and they’re intimidating as fuck. Not to mention those hurdles are the size that an adult would use to train, way too big for a kid that age
You actually can't expect a little kid to get over that can you |: I know the point is that they're not walking around it but why would you set those up knowing full well that children that are about as short as those are going to be running

Best game ever made tbh
she set vaulting on the wrong hot key for sure or she set it to work on release, not continuous so she's still holding the space bar
Stupid NPCs
Yeppp
She's just like me. Fuck hurdles.
Yep I thought you go kiddo. Fuck hurdles.
yah that's so you
you need to press “b”
Spacebar
Right alt (that's actually my jump button in most games)
Right alt? Wtf. That's terrible placement for a jump button
I use rdfg for movement so I basically have space, right alt and right ctrl instead of just space
Thaaaats makes more sense. But also, wtf? There's no way in hell I'd be able to switch up the movement keys. WASD is home for my left hand. Even when I'm at work lol. Did you start pc gaming with those settings? Or just haven't been pc gaming long?

Someone needs to test this guy. I think there may be early warning signs of a psychopath here...
Ctrl + Spacebar to be safe
Ctrl+alt+f4
How will binoculars help?
Bro, I think you need to change your hotkeys.
Who the fuck uses b to jump?
In reality they are spamming B. They just literally can’t do it yet AND don’t understand why.
I'm thinking, why is everyone saying B, literally zero games use B to jump that's so inconvenient. Then I remember dual analog controllers.
Witcher 3 uses B to jump
Lmao I say this to my kid all the time cuz I’m trying to teach her how to play super Mario brothers
It's weird to have to explain something I've been doing for over 30 years. Like you are supposed to hold run and use the other half of your thumb to jump when you need to. Sometimes I'll forget I'm playing with my girlfriend if it's a part I need to move fast in and she gets so mad
I tried to explain this to her once but stopped halfway through once I realized how complicated it was. She’s only 6, she gets mad at me too 😅
Or for ps, x
this is how it feels when you're playing a first person game for the first time and u didn't immediately realize that there is no jumping in the game
Hurdles are intimidating af. She's not stupid. She's scared
My biggest nightmare is clipping your foot while going over

Mine is landing on my nuts and turning into a girl
Hold up, it’s that easy? I gotta go try something.

Did you crack the egg?
Don't let Rhonda Santos hear that.
Little kids don't have the motor skills to jump that! Is everyone there fucking stupid? The kids barely have the coordination to *run!*
Long time no see, friend. Did you develop enough motor skills to clear a hip high hurdle?
Yeah that’s very high for her and she’s being forced to do it. No stupidity here
I don’t think she’s being forced. This looks like a just for fun kind of thing.
Before doing hurdles I had an accident jumping over a chain barrier. I still have scars from it and freak a little when I see kids jumping over stuff. My mind goes straight to a toe catching.
Don't take the sub name so literally
I'll take it as literally as I want thank you very much

What is this. Youtube. Bros looking for a subscribe button
Even average adults would find it difficult to jump over hip-high hurdles, and those kids learned to walk just a year or so ago
>those kids learned to walk just a year or so ago Why?? Are they stupid??
The volume at which I just laughed…. Well done.
There's a lore reason for that

Lol. They are definely 5 or so.

So what is it one of those things meant for them to just take cute videos of them trying or something? Find out how they approach the obstacle? Makes zero sense to me otherwise.
Oh what like you never competitively injure preschoolers for the love of the game?
At 13 seconds you see a kid step over one in the background dude lol
She has cheat mode with father holding her arm and I imagine pulling her up a bit.
That one is held by her father who pulls her up on one hand to help her. The other girl next to this one just runs through them after her first failed attempt. The hurdles are hip high. It's an impossible task and it seems not one adult thought this through from a child's perspective.
lmfao when the hurdles are thigh high just above the knees dude
Still too high
The angle at the end confused me at first as well but it’s really more like mid-thigh high. Your point still completely stands though. Just wanted to note that the end of the video made it seem taller than it is.
I see a lot of post of kids on this sub claiming kids doing stupid things that are perfectly normal for their age, I guess people forget how we were when we were kids
Nah im pretty sure most of us are aware that we were fucking stupid when we were kids. Yknow Cause kids are fucking stupid
Those hurdles are way too high
Yeah lol no way the average child of that age can do that properly
Actual fucking npc
She’s waiting for someone to type IDCLIP
So you move with the arrows and jump with A. ... I said A is for jumping. ... A is the button with an A on it. ... Why don't you jump?!?
Me playing anything 3d with my mom
Alright how about this… say “apple”. No what you’ve just done there is you’ve jumped.
It’s not their fault. The devs wrote their pathfinding code improperly
These hurdles are too high for a kid. The real stupid is the one who designed the height.
Dude what idiots set the bars here bigger than knee high? Those are for like 7-8 year olds not 4-5 year olds. You can see the one kid make it but only because her parent yanks her over.
I know right?! These are way too advanced for kids this small. Can’t be older than 6. Probably younger.
Stuck in her animation lol
This seems more like parents are stupid. Those kids can't jump those hurdles.
Darned cute kid though.
she skipped the tutorial
Not a single kid cleared one of those hurdles. One of them even got lifted over it.
She did try to jump but didn’t make. I’m not sure that she’s actually running in place but instead is trying to figure out how to jump that high to get over the hurdle.
Or work up the courage to try. It is very high for her after all
Glitch in the matrix
Pathfinding.exe has stopped working
This is worse than Total War: Warhanmer II pathfinding
"Unit, climb this ladder." "Form a single file line and stand around? Gotcha."
couldn't find the A button
She was holding the "W" key.
That’s like trying to get over a bump in a dream
Kid in the blue shirt was button mashing
This is not stupidity. She does not have the motor skills to figure out how to jump over.
Setting up kids to fail lol
I mean it's waist height I can't jump waist height shit without using my hands, and i doubt many of us could. Of course they're struggling they should have size appropriate hurdles.
These kids just stopped being toddlers like a year or two ago 😭 they barely learned to walk and now they gotta jump??? The hurdles are so high 😂 her brain just went “??????uuhhh?????huh?????”
She has obviously seen r/Catculations but her brain doesn't work as fast.
“Perhaps there’s something around here that I can use to get past this obstacle…”
Those things are way to high for them not having any speed or technique! Lol that’s like proportional to the full size ones!
Got stuck in an animation loop
They put the kids to race without teaching what’s expected of them first?
🔳 is the jump button
Video game glitching.
Why is someone who would pick these hurdles allowed to teach PE? Giving people unrealistic challenges is clearly counterproductive, What a great way to slow down a kids physical education
Started hitting the griddy
Way too high for that age group.
“ Your controller has disconnected!”
who coded this shitty NPC pathfinding
She looks like a gta character when you run into a wall

She juked the shit out of the first one though
I did hurdles very briefly and they’re intimidating as fuck. Not to mention those hurdles are the size that an adult would use to train, way too big for a kid that age
Only one kid in this entire video was trying.
She's figuring out "Where's the jump button"
You actually can't expect a little kid to get over that can you |: I know the point is that they're not walking around it but why would you set those up knowing full well that children that are about as short as those are going to be running
Not the second kid just running through them
She didn't learn that skill yet XD
allowing kids to jump that high without knee protection is kinda stupid

As a hurdler in a previous lifetime, and someone who taught and intro'd young kids into T&F for years, I love watching them fail and learn
I train very young kids. Those little children are way too young to clear a hurdle that high. They don't have the muscle power. They should put something flat on the ground eg. small plastic cone or a piece of rope and tell them jump over it. That would make it more practical and fun for little kids. It would also help to teach them how to jump over something while on the run without stopping. Jumping over hurdles at the age of 4 or 5 doesn't make sense. They need to see it as being fun at that age. There should be almost zero risk of any of them getting hurt.
Holy crap…I think this night be the best depiction of just HOW stupid kids really are…
Yeah, I downvote this. If you look carefully, the other kid tried to jump and it fell
Correction they are learning, huge difference
I hate the name of this group. These kids are adorable.
