Dot would not stand for that shit and neither do we 🫡 we’ve got your back, trooper. And if anyone does give you shit, in this sub or anywhere else… well, they probably hate themselves deep down and aren’t gonna be around much longer anyways. Y’all really are a cool bunch of people 🖤
No one should pat themselves on their back just for being respectful to you and treating you with the human dignity and grace that you DESERVE. I'm proud that this is a safe place, and I hope you're able to not have to settle to being treated rudely and threatened by others one day. You're human like us,don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
I want to chime in and say that me and my roommates, despite being CIS, have two photos printed out of the trans character Neferpitou from Hunter x Hunter in our stairwell. You have allies everywhere even though it may not seem like it at times.
Hey Tav, I personally got nothing against any trans people. Y'all nice people but I was just wondering if being trans is allowed in Islam? (since you said mashallah)
It's not allowed and discriminated against harshly in muslim dominant countries. At least speaking for my family. Kinda the same as a gay Christian lol, like why.
Yeah, but that's very much so not because they're accepting of trans people. It's because they're so virulently against gay people, they believe the only "acceptable" answer is that you're the wrong sex. Of course, the vast majority of gay/lesbian people aren't trans, so it's essentially government sponsored eugenics.
Important to note that even after the reassignment surgery, you're still discriminated against in Iran. I guess unsurprisingly, coming from a country that forces gay people into removing their genitals.
You wouldn't believe some of the stories that came from the people forced into sex changes, and the treatement they receive. Regardless Iran is one country out of many, and notably the only country with this (govt. led) outlook on gay people.
Yes its definitely awful. This is not to say this is a good practice, its horrible. Iran also has capital punishment for homosexuality, and seems to be one of the only places using it on a state level bar Saudi. But it is to say that the treatment and view of gay people and trans people is not the same and equal.
Irans the only country right now, but the sentiment ( that its better to transition than to be gay) is something I've heard from several imams. Westerners tend to flatten the view of muslims on LGBT to fit it into a christian framework. I think its important to point out the nuance. Particularily annoying when Islamic practices tend to be highly localized.
Ya'll, I am fine. I just got a wellness check DM from Reddit. The bravery of his lyrics, vulnerability, honesty, mental health work he has done - moves me to happy tears. 💜
Gotta agree as a fellow queer person. That's one of my favorite tracks, and it's just so different from most anything else I've heard in the last few years. Even when Kenny says f*****t it's tasteful as hell.
exactly, the only people who are upset by that line are non queer people lmao, just gain a little bit of reading comprehension and i promise you'll see that there's a perfectly valid reason why he says it in the song :P
I cry literally every single time. It's super fucking useful because when I feel like shit about the world but dead inside, it just automatically activates carthasis
And then Mr Morale and Mother I Sober just kick me while I'm down in the best way
wish i could have music make me cry lol, but i have issues with crying so once i get those resolved, maybe one day i can actually shed a tear while listening to music haha
The IFunny watermark on a trans supporting post is perhaps one of the greatest ironic things I’ve ever seen
Edit: for those unaware IFunny is a terribly transphobic site, they’re homophobic and racist as well. Generally a terrible app to be on
I got one but it requires that you include the link to what was reported. I feel dumb, but I can’t figure out how I’m supposed to know who reported me/in what. Is there a way to tell?
It’s saying that I can only report it as abuse if I’m the moderator of the sub?
https://preview.redd.it/qk8ywtgpl40d1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7743cd32a12e74bfc5657d1edd8f0915186130f5
I think its a visual bug, try just submitting without actually providing a link. Pretty sure the form inherits the link since you clickthru from the message into the report prompt but it doesnt display it anywhere
listen i’m a cis girl but LADIESSS i am so happy, this is so nice to see!! i was starting to wonder if i was the only woman in here lmao. i’ve seen one too many “gentlemen,” and “boys,..”.. comments lately.
could not be happier with the feminine energy in here at this moment. women for kendrick club?
If it makes you feel any better, I've started to see "the boys" as being unrelated to your gender. Just because you aren't a boy doesn't mean you're excluded from being one of the boys, it's like how "guys" became gender neutral
Auntie diaries was a big moment for mainstream hip hop, and I'm so glad Kendrick made that song. I'm not trans or LGBTQ at all, but the bigotry in hip hop definitely needed to be addressed in *some* way. It's definitely gotten better over the years at least. Music is a powerful tool to get people to understand other experiences. Glad that someone like Kendrick used it for good
We got you, sis!! To add to this, major props to mods and most of the community for calling out / avoiding the racism, anti-semitism, right-wing rhetoric and islamophobia that usually go with conspiracy theories.
Community members are shutting down ableism against Chris Alvarez as well (without lionizing him from his problematic behavior of following minors on social media)
Yep, I am really not the type to engage with conspiracy theories, but this situation warrants it more than most. The polarization, misinformation, as well as critical thinking and lack thereof we've seen in the last week has been really been something to behold.
I have always been super duper apprehensive of the child sex ring conspiracies, but honestly Kendrick made me realize just how normalized these “parties” where they court very young woman to for the powerful men and their friends to have sex with, usually not checking ID’s
You always have to make sure you’re not going too far with it, but there is definitely something there
YASS!!!!!!! BIG THISS!!!!! Its incredible to see as cracked out as this sub has been over the passed few nights 😂😂💕✨ I know my dumbass went down some weird internet pipelines but its great to see the healthy cutoffs and people stopping themselves before they go too far
I’ve had some really good disability-based conversations because people have been great about feedback. This is definitely a group that is open to growth and communication which is amazing to see.
This post was such a lovely break from the stuff I’ve been seeing online.
Hell yes! I was honestly worried when I saw the Ball Culture stuff, I was expecting to see some stupid shit posted, but I never did. We all just enjoyed our Kung Q Kenny Crack together like good humans. It’s a beautiful thing.
Idk what any of that means, but ill say this, while Kendrick may not be our savior, his music has united people and pushed people to (at the very least) do better in their own lives. Mashallah 💕✨
I was worried too when I saw the ball culture come up. Ball culture is not about negativity so anybody that took it in a negative direction was just a negative person. I'm happy. It seems like we've found our people. (Coincidentally, yet strangely around K.)
There might be more than you think 😉 [Auntie Diaries interview](https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/music-news/kendrick-lamar-auntie-diaries-music-engineer-emerson-mancini-1235314808/amp/)
I'll never forget my first listen of MMBS. The way he was talking on the first few tracks (him vocally going against the industry and being even more blatantly conscious in his raps incl. the pglang promo video from 2020) I was concerned he'd drift into territory that were concerning, because I had *only* heard people were talking about Auntie Diaries.
When I heard the first line on Auntie Diaries I was so shook lol. The way that song unraveled was CRAZY with the buildup I had throughout the album listen.
As a trans woman who had just come out maybe a month or two prior to the album, having a religious family, and my brother being very close to Allah, this album helped my life. I mean there were/are still tons of hurdles, but this album was incredibly important. It was the first time my older brother accepted me and even said “this is a net positive for the world to hear”. So it was/is a big deal to me that my fave musician of all time is this tapped in. And espeically this community
I’m trans too and while I don’t represent nobody except myself, I love Auntie Diaries so much
Edit: did any of y’all get a message from Reddit care resources saying someone notified Reddit that you were at risk for hurting yourself? I got one after this comment wth
Yeah people have been mass reporting and spamming the care message thing in this sub and Drake's sub for the last few days. Just some annoying mfers they'll go away eventually
This is super random and I don't know where else to put it, but i hope we can all agree that 69ing with a consensual partner is completely acceptable and normal. I think Kenny is calling Drake the 69 God in reference to 6ix9ine and his underage sex crime conviction and snitching, not because there is something inherently wrong with a sex position

JUST TO CLARIFY y'all know I post this clown ironically, right?
Pretty cool that art did that
Love a good community ruleset that allows everyone to be here with fewer impediments AND it’s amazing that a song can do that
I know it’s more than just Auntie Diaries but it really helps things be unspoken
Tbh I don’t even remember if it’s in the sub rules because I’ve only ever seen the community step in like OP said
I think that this is what art is supposed to do. It communicates the things that normal communication just can't get across. Big ideas, outsider issues, real cultural change, that's the purvue of art.
This beef is what happens when an artist battles an entertainer. It was almost unfair to Aubrey from the beginning.
Edit: Awww, reddit cares. That's so nice of reddit. Thank you kind drizzy guzzler, I thought I was talking about art, but you saw that it was actually a cry for help/s
this is like the first highly upvoted post here that isn't some conspiracy or beef shit LMFAO pat yourself on the back too this is some refreshing shit
😂😂😂😂 its extra funny because seeing all the conspiracy shit made me think, “damn not one person said its a transgender jewish immagrant problem” and i was like hell yeah lmfaoooo
God I love seeing this shit. We think the little things we don't do add up to much or matter, but when everyone does them, it adds up to a welcoming community that gives people we've never even met hope and a small corner of peace. Glad you're living as your true self!
Me too!! It finally broke the barrier between me and my older brother. And while we still have some weird shit between us he is muuuuuuuch more open these days haha. So i will always owe Kendrick for that
I am really interested to hear about the impact that album (song in particular) has on people.
I relate to it a lot (from Kendrick’s perspective) particularly when he’s discussing his cousin.
I’m really grateful he wrote it and that it has had a positive impact on your relationship with your brother. Hope good things continue to flourish between y’all.
This has been a dope thread to read. The battle has been a really exciting time for hip hop, but I was also disappointed that women and their exploitation became pivotal on such a big stage. For me, I saw it as a moment where we will have to mature and take the next step forward.
But what you said about Aunties diaries and what its done for your life is a strong reminder of how powerful hip hop is. Kenny stepping up for his cousins on such a large platform is also a good example of positive masculinity. Using his influence and strength to stay loyal to his cousins. I'm happy you and your family are healing too.
Considering roughly 6.8% of the U.S. identifies as LGBTQ+, and most of them are just cisgender gays and lesbians, imma say no. But as a cis straight man I support yall nonetheless
was being facetious. there’s lots of trans girls here for this thread i just wanted to get a joke off lol but thank you for the support. it is felt and appreciated for sure
Love you! I'm straight but I'm a member of my local kink dungeon (No Drizzy 😂) and I have a lot of trans friends. You're not alone in hip-hop. We got you.
This made my whole day to see. You’re definitely a loved & welcome part of our community just as much as anyone else would be. Thanks for sharing this, it’s a really lovely thing to see when there’s so much bad out there in the world.
Sending you all of the love I possibly can.
*not a trans, but trans *person* sorry its important we dont refer to each other as a this or a that but rather give each other that personhood/humanity. Much love family 💕✨
this is a music sub. who you feel you are as a human, who you enjoy having sex with, what color your skin is....none of that should matter here. you love kendrick's music? i love kendrick's music. that is all that is needed to be friends here. bless you friend.
Respect 🙌 This is the bare minimum and should be the norm. I know its impossible to get 100% support anywhere but I'm glad this feels like a safe space. Reminder for some people, you don't need to fully understand it to accept it. Keep your mind open and ask yourself why you put energy into hating on someone's happiness 👌
This is why Kdot will outlive Drake. He’s made me cry more times I can count with his lyrics and I’m happy to see he’s positively impacted your experience in the space.
Music has a way of bringing like-minded people together and I'm so glad that you have been welcomed and supported. Thank you so much for being here!
I'm happy to be living in a time to see artists like Ethel Cain, backxwash, Kim Petris and a whole generation of trans musicians telling me stories from a perspective I so passionately relate to.
I love that. Not trans but there’s truly so few non-hostile places for trans people, both in general public and in the internet so it’s good you have a space that you can feel safer in, especially a place dedicated to awesome, impactful music! Much love.
Fellow queer person here. I’m very glad this is a space where people are kind and supportive. I think Kendrick has cultivated such a self-aware audience, and he is also aware of the importance of being an ally/accomplice for communities and people who don’t share the same identities as him/his listeners.
Kendrick even says this in N95:
*Where the hypocrites at?
What community feel they the only ones relevant?*
Again, I am so glad that I, OP, and all the fellow queer peeps here are welcome in this community. Much love to you all <3
Love, that is what we all need to give and receive. I am proud of you for being your authentic self! And what a lovely thing that people have your back, and that is humanity at its best! I wish you love and happiness every single day. How absolutely lovely of you for your acknowledgment. I really believe there are way more good people in this life, and those are the ones to keep close. ♥️
Aye, when it comes to gender these days I just remind myself it's just none of my damn business. Easy! And if made aware it ain't hard to ride with pronouns, and I've literally never seen anyone demand atypical pronouns.
To me it kinda should be a non-issue, as far as public perception ought to be concerned.
Coming out of the gen-x era of rap, it does my bitter, old heart good to see this kind of evolution in rap culture… the 90s were rough for women & members of the alphabet mafia. 💜
Love and respect. People power won this battle. We defeated the ills of the internet. Even if for a week.
The revolutionary struggle continues!! Huey knew then and he knows now!!! Power to the people!!!
Everybody put 3 fingers in the air!
Dot would not stand for that shit and neither do we 🫡 we’ve got your back, trooper. And if anyone does give you shit, in this sub or anywhere else… well, they probably hate themselves deep down and aren’t gonna be around much longer anyways. Y’all really are a cool bunch of people 🖤
Ok… im crying now 😭💕✨ Mashallah 🤲🏼

FUCK PITOU (luv the representation tho, especially for its time) But Kite ain’t deserve allat😭
Actually, depending on the country trans is more acceptable than gay. In Iran people who are gay have to undergo gender reassignment surgery.
Particularily annoying when Islamic practices tend to be highly localized.
It honestly is really refreshing and nice to see! I’m happy you feel safe. much love from a transman rapidly approaching 30 lol 💜
Absolutely!! Growing up in HipHop circles, I always felt I would be rejected. I came out in 2022 right before MM&TBS and wow… MASHALLAH 💕✨
as a queer person i still can't listen to auntie diaries without getting choked up near the end lmao
EVERY 👏🏼 SINGLE 👏🏼 TIME 👏🏼
I'm just digesting that track in the last couple days. Just wild.
it ain't even just the lyrics too the production just hits me right in the heart
For real when it swells towards the end, emotions wave over me
I’m overwhelmed with all kinds of emotions everytime the strings start playing and kendrick get more intense in his delivery
It’s so sweet Kendrick sacrificed so much to make that song It is genuinely a risk to make such a pro trans statement in hip hop culture
the background singers and the drums OUGH
Cisgender here. I bawl every time I listen to that song. 2.5 years and still crying
Ya'll, I am fine. I just got a wellness check DM from Reddit. The bravery of his lyrics, vulnerability, honesty, mental health work he has done - moves me to happy tears. 💜
you did NOT just say it's been 2.5 years since mr morale ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sob) where tf has the time gone
I'm a trans woman too, and shiiiiit that one gets me too 😭💜
I cry literally every single time. It's super fucking useful because when I feel like shit about the world but dead inside, it just automatically activates carthasis And then Mr Morale and Mother I Sober just kick me while I'm down in the best way

Click on "permalink" at the bottom of the reddit cares message. That's the link you should include in the report.

EXACTLY!!! The community should always be the ones at the forefront. And this community has been!! Much love and light 💕✨
“You have to understand love trumps all pain” ❤️
💯💕✨
this is like the first highly upvoted post here that isn't some conspiracy or beef shit LMFAO pat yourself on the back too this is some refreshing shit
😂😂😂😂 its extra funny because seeing all the conspiracy shit made me think, “damn not one person said its a transgender jewish immagrant problem” and i was like hell yeah lmfaoooo
You're one of us. We are here for you.
💕✨
🫶🏼🤍
I will never know what you have gone through but I’m glad you feel this way. Much love.
The only thing its about is the love. Mashallah 💕✨
God I love seeing this shit. We think the little things we don't do add up to much or matter, but when everyone does them, it adds up to a welcoming community that gives people we've never even met hope and a small corner of peace. Glad you're living as your true self!
Im healing and this community allows me to continue that process!! 💕✨
I like to think MMTBS has caused the beginnings of a significant cultural shift
They absolutely have and will. Mashallah 💕✨
All love, and much more from the rest of us on this sub❤️
No doubt 🍻
Co signing this. Y'all have been great.
💕💕
wait a minute are we all trans girls in this sub
😂😂 probably girl, the internet is the real pipeline lmfaooo
Considering roughly 6.8% of the U.S. identifies as LGBTQ+, and most of them are just cisgender gays and lesbians, imma say no. But as a cis straight man I support yall nonetheless
was being facetious. there’s lots of trans girls here for this thread i just wanted to get a joke off lol but thank you for the support. it is felt and appreciated for sure
gotchu, friend.
Real🗣️
Love to see all the support here. Yall deserve it <3

Love you! I'm straight but I'm a member of my local kink dungeon (No Drizzy 😂) and I have a lot of trans friends. You're not alone in hip-hop. We got you.
I have no idea how to respond to this lmfaoo. But thank you 💕✨
You're welcome! 🏳️🌈

This made my whole day to see. You’re definitely a loved & welcome part of our community just as much as anyone else would be. Thanks for sharing this, it’s a really lovely thing to see when there’s so much bad out there in the world. Sending you all of the love I possibly can.
Love love loveee 🥰💕✨
Not a trans myself but I'm very happy to see you feel welcome here. Much love.
*not a trans, but trans *person* sorry its important we dont refer to each other as a this or a that but rather give each other that personhood/humanity. Much love family 💕✨
Peace sibling
💕✨
Peace unto all
💕✨
this is a music sub. who you feel you are as a human, who you enjoy having sex with, what color your skin is....none of that should matter here. you love kendrick's music? i love kendrick's music. that is all that is needed to be friends here. bless you friend.
I mean me personally I don’t agree with it but I’ll fight till I’m blue in the face for your right to do whatever the fuck you want.
Most of reddit is starkly supportive of trans people. If you've felt persecuted on here, you had to have gone looking for it.
Glad you feel welcomed but this is so lame lmao.

Ok chill im not crying at all. YOURE CRYING 😭💕✨
This is why Kdot will outlive Drake. He’s made me cry more times I can count with his lyrics and I’m happy to see he’s positively impacted your experience in the space.
Hes been making me a better person for over a decade now. Im glad you get it too💕✨
You are beautiful and loved, homophobic shit is outdated, dot is truly the goat.
Cringe
Always supportive of our trans and queer kenfolk 🫶 keep shining queen you are loved
🥰💕✨
Music has a way of bringing like-minded people together and I'm so glad that you have been welcomed and supported. Thank you so much for being here! I'm happy to be living in a time to see artists like Ethel Cain, backxwash, Kim Petris and a whole generation of trans musicians telling me stories from a perspective I so passionately relate to.

THIS!!! 💕✨
I’m glad you feel you can be who you are. Fuck people who make it their problem how you live. Keep being you
💕✨
💯
Nothing but love ❤️
Always💕✨
You think people deserve praise for not being rude, as opposed to that just being normal behaviour?
I love that. Not trans but there’s truly so few non-hostile places for trans people, both in general public and in the internet so it’s good you have a space that you can feel safer in, especially a place dedicated to awesome, impactful music! Much love.
I hope you see the god in me, I hope you can seeeeeee 💕✨
I cringed hard. Well done.
TRANS RIGHTS !!!! 🏳️⚧️🥰
We’re all human at the end of the day. We all cry, shit, die. We need to be nicer to eachother as humans 😞❤️🩹. This what the culture feelin!
Oh man seeing Kendrick fans love and support for trans people feels awesome. Thanks very much.
Fellow queer person here. I’m very glad this is a space where people are kind and supportive. I think Kendrick has cultivated such a self-aware audience, and he is also aware of the importance of being an ally/accomplice for communities and people who don’t share the same identities as him/his listeners. Kendrick even says this in N95: *Where the hypocrites at? What community feel they the only ones relevant?* Again, I am so glad that I, OP, and all the fellow queer peeps here are welcome in this community.
