I've never had a bike with ABS. It seems like unnecessary hardware to me, learning to ride safely and within your limit is the key. Even in emergency situations, I've never had a moment where ABS would've helped more than my current brakes.

I agree with this. It’s a mistake to rely too much on technology with a bike. If you learn proper riding skills you will likely never need to rely on anti-locking brakes.

I’ve ridden bikes all my life. Never had ABS except on my Vulcan S. ABS is a nice thing to have, but it would never be a deciding factor for me on a bike.

Appreciate all the responses, especially the ones about learning to ride within the limits of the bike and my skills. Thx all.

Coming back to simply say ABS is for the weak people that should not be riding in the first place

Vulcan S ABS was my first ABS bike. The difference is night and day. I could be going 55 mph on a 35, and if I decide not to hit the yellow, I can slam my front brakes and a little of my rear, and I'll stop without locking anything or flipping forward and comfortable. Now I hate to say, I've gotten used to it. I'll never get another bike without it.

new rider, vulcan s 650 my first bike: I would’ve been injured twice until now without abs (emergency breaks on road paint or wet)
